This article describes the complex relationship between exportation & foreign direct investment (FDI). Distinction is also made between FDI determined by sales opportunities & by cost-cutting opportunities, especially in connection with the New Member States (NMS). Furthermore, the Belgian FDI into the NMS is discussed. The article also examines the role of FDI in furthering the economic growth & development of the NMS & lists the FDI's advantages & disadvantages for the NMS. Additionally, the EU eastern expansion has mainly generated a positive result for Belgian businesses. The article also mentions a trend that the current industrial states would become less industrial, by just maintaining concept, design & R&D of products, while outsourcing the rest of the production process, including business services. In conclusion, a tentative roadmap for Belgian companies is drawn up in order to face the economic challenges of the expansion & to determine which government measures need to be taken to boost the Belgian companies' performances. 2 Tables, 33 References. Research from a client perspective and the direct member check

This article describes a method for narrative research from a client perspective. In this type of research the story and the meaning of the story according to the client are the object(s) of research. The method is presented as a 'direct member check'. During open interviews the verbal reactions of the interviewee or narrator are being typed out on a laptop as literally as possible and projected by means of a projector. The interviewee is invited to read it and respond to the text. The method is used to understand as much as possible the knowledge, experience and meaning of the story of clients. Whether it is useful in other situations, is a question for further research.

The article explains changing patterns of investment presented by non-financial Chinese foreign direct investment (FDI) flows related to the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI). First, a reduction in investments in bri is verified through analysis of the Statistical Bulletin of China's Outward fdi between the years of 2013 and 2016. These years compose the first quadrennium since the official announcement of the development of the Belt and Road Initiative. Afterwards, seeking to explain the reduction of non-financial Chinese fdi flows to bri, this article analyses two hypotheses. First, the article portrays the current public spending control measures by the Chinese administration, facing the growing public debt of the country and overcapacity while also discussing the similarities between China's economy to the Japanese crisis of the early 1990s. Then, the article analyzes the ongoing preparations by Chinese authorities as countermeasures to an impending financial instability in global markets. The confluence of these factors helps to explain the reduction of non-financial outward fdi flows to the bri, which contrasts with contemporary upward tendencies related to Chinese investment all over the world in the same period. ; O artigo estabelece explicações para a mudança no padrão de investimentos não-financeiros apresentada no fluxo de Investimento Externo Direto (ied) chinês relativo à Nova Rota da Seda (nrs). Primeiramente, a redução de investimentos na nrs é verificada através da análise do Statistical Bulletin of China's Outward Foreign Direct Investment entre os anos de 2013 e 2016. Tais anos compõem o primeiro quadriênio desde o anúncio oficial da nrs. Na sequência, buscando explicar a redução do fluxo de ied-NF para a nrs, analisaram-se duas hipóteses. Primeiro, buscou-se retratar as atuais medidas de controle de gasto público pela administração chinesa, que enfrenta o crescimento da dívida pública do país, capacidade excedente, e ao mesmo tempo discutir as similaridades entre a economia chinesa e a crise japonesa do início dos anos 1990. Na segunda hipótese, contemplamos a possibilidade dos preparativos feitos pelas autoridades chinesas serem contramedidas para a instabilidade de mercados globais. A confluência destes fatores ajuda a explicar a redução do fluxo de IED-NF para a nrs, que contrasta com a tendência contemporânea mundial relativa ao investimento chinês no mesmo período. ; Este artículo busca establecer explicaciones para el cambio en el patrón de inversiones presentado en el flujo de inversión directa no financiera (IED) de China en la Nueva Ruta de la Seda (NRS). Después, al tratar de explicar la reducción del flujo de ied no financiera de China a nrs, este artículo analiza dos hipótesis. Primero, retrata las medidas actuales de control del gasto público de China, que abordan el crecimiento del exceso de capacidad del país, mientras discute las similitudes entre la economía china y la crisis japonesa de principios de la década de 1990. Posteriormente, contempla la posibilidad de que los preparativos realizados por las autoridades chinas se contrarresten por la inestabilidad anticipada de los mercados mundiales. La confluencia de estos factores ayuda a explicar la reducción del flujo no financiero de ied a nrs, que contrasta con la tendencia contemporánea hacia la inversión china en el mundo durante el mismo período.

Com o desenvolvimento deste artigo, pretende-se discutir a constituição do sujeito pedagógico surdo a partir da convergência entre comunidade e escola de surdos. Trata-se de lançar um olhar para o sujeito objeto da pedagogia que tem sua construção definida também pelas formas pelas quais a comunidade surda se insere no espaço da escola de surdos. O estudo que segue foi realizado utilizando como sujeitos de pesquisa surdos alunos e professores de escolas específicas para surdos das cidades de Caxias dos Sul/RS, Porto Alegre/RS e Santa Maria/RS. Para o desenvolvimento deste texto, foram utilizadas ferramentas analíticas advindas dos estudos de vertente Pós-estruturalista em função da conveniência que tal perspectiva apresenta quando se põe como objetivo entender os processos de produção de verdades e de constituição de sujeitos. Foi possível traçar quatro estratégias centrais que ilustram o investimento por parte da comunidade na formação do sujeito político através da escola: a necessidade de manter o contato entre os pares surdos; a necessidade de atribuição de uma espacialidade geográfica e temporal às articulações comunitárias; a intervenção em idade precoce; e a presença de surdos com histórias pessoais e profissionais exitosas atuando na escola. Através do desenvolvimento deste artigo, foi possível perceber que a comunidade entende a escola como possibilidade de manutenção do seu funcionamento e preceitos em função de que o sujeito que é pedagogizado na escola aprende lá a ser político e a dar conta do que quer a comunidade.
