Contents.--An act to provide against infectious diseases. Passed 30th March, 1801.--Extracts from an act to invest the mayor, aldermen and commonalty of the City of New-York, with adequate powers in relation to certain objects of importance to the police and health of the said city. Passed April 2d, 1803.--An act supplementary to an act, entitled "An act to provide against infectious and pestilential diseases." Passed February 28th, 1804.--An act relative to the public health, in the City of New-York. Manuscripts of the New York Council Minutes from 1674 to 1775, during British colonial rule. Accompanying each manuscript volume is a typescript calendar taken from the Calendar of Council Minutes, 1668-1783, from the Calendar of Historical Manuscripts. As noted in the Calendar of Council Minutes, 1668-1783 (New York State Library) (1902), the legislative, judicial and executive functions were all exercised by the Council at the beginning of British rule. Not until 1691 did the Council become a legislative body and coordinate with the New York Assembly

"By a late vote of the Legislature, the Chief Justice of the Supreme Judicial Court is authorized to cause to be published all the publick acts, passed at each session, together with such of the ancient laws as he may judge proper .
