This article proposes a new exploration of Nature/Culture antagonism by addressing the issue of marine mammalian hunting, in particular seal hunting. Ethnographic surveys carried out in different fields of the European cultural area allow a renewal of the approach to this topic that has been repeatedly addressed by different publications. Based on a medium immersion ground with certain coastal communities in three countries, this work proposes a reassessment of the controversy surrounding seal hunting, in the face of advances in concepts, but also of political instruments, particularly supranational ones, and the changing role of actors, between humans and non-humans. ; International audience This paper proposes a new exploration of the Nature/Culture antagonism by focusing on the problems of marine mammal hunting, and more specifically, seal hunting.
