Letter from George Davis to Alden Partridge, 23 April 1821
George Davis writes from Balize, Louisiana, to Alden Partridge in Norwich, Vermont; he is worried about his son's (George Lewis C. Davis) fall on the ice; his son is deceiving Partridge as to how often he is writing his parents; writes of "Lewis's" course of studies and his preferences; is willing to have him go on Partridge's "tour" through New Hampshire to Boston; has tried very hard to make Lewis, who is left-handed, use his right hand equally as well; wishes him not to turn in his toes and to work on his carriage and handwriting. ; Transcription by L.
