The definition of the technique as the mediation between man and nature raises some philosophical problems. Such mediation was established based on imperatives, among which we can highlight efficiency and domination, both exercised over nature. In order to expand the possibilities for improving the human condition, the notion of technical progress has become an emerging need for the consolidation of ancient and modern civilizations. However, it is necessary to establish the criteria for a critique of the limits of unrestrained progress in order to be able to highlight the ambiguity of this process. The development of reality goes through a series of increasingly sophisticated domains without which the objective achievements that structure human life would not be possible. As it oscillates more and more rapidly between production and destruction, technology - understood as the applied discourse of technique (techné-logos) - accuses its own limit when submitted to the imperative of efficiency and domination. The purpose of this paper is to show that the ambiguous consequences of technical progress work as an instinctive mechanism for both the welfare state and the state of war. The methodology used to address these issues will be the clash of ideas present in the studies of thinkers who reflected the theme of the technique. Our conclusion, in addition to pointing to a reflection on the limits of technique in human life, intends to rethink the unfolding of the imperatives of a civilization guided by the notion of technical progress and its inevitable contradiction with the notion of human progress.

The study consists of a phenomenological reflection on the essence of man based on the meaning of his discourse in the era of technique. Considering the history of metaphysics at its end, in which all saying and thinking are commanded by information technologies, one wonders about the situation of language, understood as the pronouncement of human existence. Based on Heidegger's phenomenology and, particularly, on the notion of discourse (Rede) as a fundamental structure made explicit by 'Sein und Zeit's' existential ontology, it is demonstrated that the focus of the discussion is not simply to question the instrumental use and technological application of language. Rather, the key for elaborating the interrelationship between discourse and technique is to capture the sense by which the contemporary man discourses his existence-in-the-world, transitioning from an original way of saying and understanding himself to one in which he and his world are governed by a challenging and provocative power of realness in his reality. It is shown that, to guarantee this contemporary man's position with the entities, it is necessary for the technique to be a meaning to pronounce its existence, providing the meaning of being-device for the existence and its own possibilities, as well as for the mundane things. At the same time, it is clarified that, since the realization of human existence is guided by this meaning and challenging power represented by the technique, the instrumentalization of languages and their reduction to a communication system managed by information technologies, among other consequences, are required.

This paper examines the reading of Hans Jonas about the impact of new technologies on human and extra-humanlife. He highlights, in particular, that new technologies have assumed an excessive power to the man, who bringsboth good and disastrous consequences, which may even lead to the extinction of the present and future life. He confirms that this significant increase in technical knowledge. Unfortunately, that was not proportional to the increase of human wisdom. So, our intention is to present, according to the understanding of Hans Jonas, the proposed review of the prevailing ethical levels along the western philosophical tradition; elucidating the main features of modern technology; presenting the shortcomings of traditional ethics before emerging problems in the contemporary world; circumscribing how ethical principle of responsibility emerges and showing how extent scientific progress demands ethical prudence. Therefore, we support the idea that the ethics of Hans Jonas goes beyond the anthropocentric relationship, promoting bio-cosmocentric ethics that includes the extra-human, considering the development of ethical awareness and the responsibility of man to the present and future of life on the planet.

In this paper, I intend to show the writing process performed from a research in a primary school
from an educational municipal network in the interior of São Paulo' state. To write the research I assumed the narrative from a Benjamin's perspective. In the first place, that choice shows a researcher who chooses to incorporate itself in its own discourse, and secondly, that this speech has a mark of being tied to the life and its experiences. I believe that the writing process of the research is complex and in that process other understandings can appear that were not previously observed or thought. In this sense, it is important to value the writing process of the research process in its formative dimension.
