The present study brings to light some of the original novelistic writing techniques that Salim Barakat evolved in his first novel entitled Fuqahā' al-Ẓalām (Sages of Darkness). With this novel, the author laid the foundation for techniques to be used in his subsequent novels. In the absence of an established Middle Eastern or Kurdish tradition of novel writing, Barakat had ample space to develop his own original techniques. He first published Sages of Darkness in 1985 in Nicosia Cyprus, and later published a second edition in Baghdad in 1994—with a further overlay of cinematic imagery and use of his own poetics and vocabulary as in his poems of the intervening period. An anthology of Barakat's poems in the original Arabic can now be read online. And there are also English translations in the Anthology of Aviva Butt's book of 20 September 2021(see the References at the end of this article). A previous article on Sages of Darkness published in IJOKS 7 (1) (2022) attempted to establish the genre of Barakat's novel as psychological realism with philosophical and fantastical elements—the first 50 pages were examined. In this study, I will mention the frequent symbolic relationship of the environment to Kurdish life—as seen in the first approximately 120 pages. A completed English translation of Sages of Darkness, including the remaining 90 pages underway, will hopefully be published by early next year.

Migration is an important phenomenon that deeply affects the lives of adolescents and paves the way for many emotional and behavioral problems. It is important for adolescents to go through the migration process without any problems in order for them to continue their lives in harmony with the society they have just joined and to continue their individual development in a healthy way. The aim of this study is to draw attention to the problems experienced by adolescents, who are in an interim period from childhood to adulthood, before, during and after migration, and what kind of practices can be implemented for these problems. For this purpose, the developmental characteristics of the adolescents involved in the migration process were emphasized in the study, the problems they experienced during the migration process were mentioned, and finally, various application suggestions for these problems were included. Adolescents may be exposed to different sources of stress with the migration process, and such exposures cause them to experience different levels of physical, biological and social problems. At the point of overcoming such problems that individuals face, the creation of implementations at different systems, including the educational settings, can help adolescents in the identity formation process to feel more self-confident and develop a positive sense of belonging.

This research aims to understand and interpret the changes in the working and family lives of women entrepreneurs working in SMEs during the pandemic process. The research was designed with a phenomenological pattern by using qualitative research methods. The participants consisted of 14 women entrepreneurs selected by using purposeful and snowball sampling techniques among women entrepreneurs who received KOSGEB support in Ankara. Data were obtained through semi-structured interviews.
It has been revealed that the most important change in the working life of women entrepreneurs during the pandemic process is the decrease in incomes and increase in expenses. The decrease in business capacity has led women entrepreneurs to exhibit pessimistic attitudes towards working life. It is possible to collect other changes in working life under the categories of decrease in the number of customers, decrease in the number of employees, change in working hours, inability to save, consuming existing savings, working from home, benefiting from social media opportunities in working life.
Although some of the women entrepreneurs stated that the pandemic was functional in terms of increasing the interaction of family members, strengthening ties and providing the opportunity to rest, it is understood that the domestic workload of women entrepreneurs increased significantly in parallel with the negativities in their working life. There has been an increase in the use of domestic labor by women entrepreneurs such as care, cleaning, nutrition, and support for education. In this context, it can be claimed that the tendency of women entrepreneurs to stay away from work and withdraw to home life is getting stronger. As a result, the pandemic process has had a knock-on effect on the working and family lives of women entrepreneurs, and has had interrelated negative consequences that can be described as double disadvantage.

Tuna nehri Paleolitik Dönem kültürlerinden başlayarak birçok toplum ve devlete ev sahipliği yapmıştır. Tuna havzasında yaşayan devletlerin yaşam kaynağı olan Tuna nehri, devletlerin büyümesi ve yayılması ile daha stratejik hale gelmiş ve bu topraklarda var oluşun anahtarı durumuna gelmiştir. Ortaçağ'da sadece içme suyu ve tarımsal sulamada kullanılan Tuna zamanla ticaretin ana aracı durumuna gelmiştir. Tuna üzerinden at arabalarıyla kıyıdan yedeklenerek yapılan taşımadan başlayarak, yerini modern teknelere bırakmıştır. Suyolundaki hakimiyetin paylaşılması süreci Tuna'nın yönetilmesinde temel hedef olmuştur. Tuna'da seyrüseferin yönetilmesi sürecini dört dönem halinde değerlendirmek mümkündür. Birinci dönem, 1792 ve öncesinden başlayan ikili anlaşmalar dönemi; ikinci dönem, 1856 Paris Barış Konferansı ile başlayıp 1920 Birinci Dünya Savaşı arası devam eden, kısa süreli olarak planlanan fakat defalarca görev süresi uzatılan komisyon dönemi; üçüncü dönem, 1920'den İkinci Dünya Savaşına kadar devam eden Tuna Nehri'nin uluslararasılaştırılması çabaları; dördüncü dönem ise Tuna'nın uluslararasılaştırılması sürecidir. Ancak yüzyıllardır seyrüseferin yönetilmesi için anlaşan Tuna devletlerinin gemi kaynaklı kirliğin önlenmesi, kontrol altına alınması ve bertarafına ilişkin antant kaldığı bir hukuksal doküman bulunmamaktadır.

This study focuses on the changes witnessed in social life throughout the Covid-19 epidemic period, particularly how the pandemic affected religious institutions. The study, which employs psychosocial analysis, investigates the alteration of social and religious life in the presence of diverse social psychology theories. During and after the epidemic, religion strives to adapt to fluid change and tries to produce a new form of belief and religiosity that will soothe anxious people, in contrast to its traditional form, in a process of radical change and social erosion in which discourses such as 'nothing will be the same as before' are frequently voiced. The fact that religion and religiosity are pregnant with new manifestations throughout the epidemic process might be regarded as an adaptation reaction or a crucial reaction to the synthetic alteration that has already begun to be felt. Religion aims to achieve a shape that takes care of the changing requirements of the person and directs his life by keeping its unchanging principles. He even took the risk of mixing secular, metaphysical, astrological, and paranormal components within himself to achieve this goal. Finally, contrary to standard secularization theorists' forecasts that religion will vanish, religion will evolve after the pandemic and continue to exist in a society that will become even more digital, a form of post-corona religiosity. By stressing the transition dynamics experienced during the epidemic era, it is intended that the research would create new topics of discussion and contribute to the field of sociology.

Yaylı çalgı eğitiminde çift sesli uygulamalar, tek sesli çalışmalardan daha farklı güçlükleri barındırmaktadır. Aralıkların doğru bir entonasyonla seslendirilmesinin yanı sıra uyum ve denge içerisinde tınlaması, çift sesli ezgilerin ise tek sesten oluşan bir ezgiyi çalıyormuş gibi bir kolaylıkla seslendirilmesi gerekmektedir. Bu yüzden yaylı çalgı eğitiminde çift ses çalımı, zorlu teknikler arasında sayılmaktadır. Bu tekniğin öğretiminde titiz ve dikkatli bir yaklaşım gerekmektedir. Bu çalışma, viyolonsel eğitiminde çift ses tekniğine başlarken dikkat edilmesi gereken çeşitli durumları, gereklilikleri ve zorlukları eğitimci görüşleri doğrultusunda tespit etmeyi amaçlamaktadır. Bu amaçla, çift sesli çalışmalara başlamanın ideal zamanı ve başlangıç için gerekli hazır bulunuşluklar ortaya koyulmuştur. Ayrıca eğitimcilerin bu çalışmalara programda yer verme zamanlamaları, karşılaşılan zorluklar, öğrenci hataları, başlangıç düzeyinde kullanılan kaynaklar belirlenmiştir. Son olarak konunun öğretimine ilişkin eğitimcilerin önerileri ve çift sesli çalışmalara başlarken çalgı, yay ve malzeme seçimi araştırılmıştır. Araştırma durum tespitine yönelik nitel bir çalışmadır. Veriler, viyolonselde çift ses tekniğinin başlangıç aşamasındaki eğitimine yönelik soruları içeren, bir soru formu kullanılarak görüşme yoluyla toplanmıştır. Toplanan veriler sistematik bir biçimde betimlenmiştir. Araştırmada, fiziksel gelişim ve temel beceriler dikkate alınarak erken dönemde çift sesli çalışmalara başlanabileceği; boş tel kontrolleri ile yayda denge ve kuvvet uygulamaya dönük çalışmaların eğitime katkı sağlayacağı; çift sesli uygulamalara geçişte karşılaşılan başlıca zorlukların başparmak problemlerine, konum bilgisine-geçişlerine, sol elin ve yayın eşgüdümüne dayandığı; pekiştirmeden pasajları geçme, özensiz çalışma, sabırsızlığa dayalı eksik çalışmalar çift ses tekniğinin çalışılmasında sıklıkla yapılan hatalar içerisinde yer aldığı; çift sesli uygulamalarda başlangıç düzeyinde kullanılan kaynakların neler olduğu; kullanılan çalgı yapısındaki ayarsızlıkların eğitimde sıkıntılar yarattığı sonuçlarına ulaşılmıştır.

18. yüzyılda başta Vauban ve Quesnay olmak üzere fizyokrat düşünürler tarafından ortaya atılan tek vergi sistemi görüşü, o günden bu yana literatürde sıklıkla tartışılan bir konu olmuştur. Bu görüş en basit ifadeyle bir ülkenin ekonomisinde tek bir kaynak, konu yahut mal üzerinden alınan tek bir verginin bulunması gerektiğini ifade etmektedir. Tarihsel gelişim sürecinde ortaya çıkan arazinin; arazideki değer artışının; sermayenin; enerjinin; hammaddenin ve son olarak gelirin esas alındığı görüş olmak üzere toplam altı farklı tek vergi sistemi görüşü bulunmaktadır. Bu tek vergi sistemi görüşlerinin her birisi, uygulanacak tek vergi için farklı kaynaklar önermiş ve bunun gerekçelerini belirtmiştir. İşte bu çalışmada hem tek vergi sistemi ve söz konusu bu altı türü açıklanmış hem de tek vergi sistemine ve bu altı görüşe yönelik eleştiriler belirtilmiştir. Ek olarak tek vergi sisteminin çok vergili sistem ile karşılaştırmalı bir değerlendirmesi de çalışmada yer almaktadır.
