The Osmanoğlu et Kocabaş v. Switzerland case, decided by the European Court of Human Rights in 2017, is the main focus of this article, which uses that case to study in depth the interpretation and application of the right to freedom of religion under Article 9 of the European Convention on Human Rights and its possible conflict with other norms (right to education) and values in democratic societies. ; L'affaire Osmanoğlu et Kocabaş c.
