In Greek political theoretical practice, according to Rousseau and Arendt, the founder of a constitution leaves once he has legislated. The politeia of Plato's Laws violates this familiar trope. This observation –hitherto unnoticed in the secondary literature– suggests that scholars have not paid sufficient attention to Magnesia's founding. Herein I establish the role of reputation in the founding, thus touching upon a concept that is central to Plato's Athens yet radically understudied in Platonic studies. I begin by outlining the parameters of founding: the conceptual commitment that humankind lives not in the age of Cronus, but in the age of Zeus. I then evince that in this age reputation is both instrumental to, and constitutive of, the founding. The instrumental role is shown via the presence of Magnesia's founder, Cleinias of Cnossos, in the frame of the dialogue. The constitutive role is evidenced in the legislation for the incoming Dorian colonists. I conclude by proposing some virtues of Plato's account as motivated by my reading. ; In Greek political theoretical practice, according to Rousseau and Arendt, the founder of a constitution leaves once he has legislated. We are entering a new economic cycle, which may be named «the reputation economy» —a trend that was triggered by the crisis that started in 2008-2009, when the loss of trust affected both businesses and governments. The recovery of trust is essential for overcoming the economic crisis. The author argues that good reputation management may serve as a tool for restoring trust and today the business sector is in a better position for promoting management of strategic intangible assets. In order to restore trust, it is fundamental to understand and be able to manage social networks as well as relations with the stakeholders due to the fact that peers and experts are the only sources of information on companies and institutions that still enjoy trust of the individuals. The author presents the think tank Corporate Excellence - Centre for Reputation Leadership as a project initiated in this context with an objective to help companies and the public sector to improve management of key intangible assets (the reputation, the brand and the communication). The author argues the utility of this initiative in order to restore trust and successfully compete in this new context of the reputation economy.

The article conducts a legal analysis of the process of creating digital identity and managing online reputation of natural persons and legal entities, giving special attention to the web 2.0 tools and the impact of the activity of users in shaping online reputation. On the one hand, the article observes that the increasing legal protection for digital identity of individuals is creating a new Digital Identity Right, that is, to exist on the Internet, and a unified set of rights designed to safeguard the respect of data protection and other rights of personality under the name of Right to Be Forgotten. On the other hand, the article shows that the legal protection accorded to legal persons, under the law in force, in relation to the creation of digital identity and online reputation management, is limited to the objective dimension of the Right to Honor. The article notes and concludes that existing legislation affects all stages of digital identity creation, making it necessary to adopt and develop a special legal sensitivity in both natural and legal persons as well as Internet users, themselves.

Journalism is fundamental to the strengthening of democracy. Free and independent journalism is a sine qua non guarantee of that democratic purpose. But freedom of the press is not justification for the violation of fundamental principles and rights such as dignity, the presumption of innocence, good name, honor and image. The political class is the most vituperated by the press, under the imaginary - which has been intended to become incontrovertible reality - that it is the most likely to commit acts of corruption because of its closeness to the era. Emulating Cesare Lombroso, an Italian criminologist who founded the Positivist School of Criminology who considered the criminal to be by certain cranial deformations, it would seem that journalists and the public generally have come to believe that everyone who is a politician or public servant has a tendency to corruption. Informational prejudices and opinion have generated a halo of smear in the political class, which has led to a mistrust of citizenship, materialized in electoral apathy. This paper refers to the vicious cycle of a purported freedom of expression at all costs, with informative lightness and social irresponsibility, which has led to the loss of credibility of audiences in politics and politics, the formation of bad image of politicians and the politics and smearing of the political class, which has produced distrust of public opinion, materialized in electoral abstention. The work seeks to draw attention to this reality that has been affecting Colombian democracy, in order to invite both the reflection of journalists in practice and the formation of consciousness from the basis, in students of communication and journalism, of science or political studies and those who have decided to be actors in any of the spheres of political activity. The aim is to encourage the path in the direction of a virtuous circle towards the recovery of credibility and trust in politicians, politics and institutions, starting with a more rigorous and responsible journalistic exercise. The emphasis of reflection is focused on the ethical journalistic exercise, reviewing the principles and values that should lead a journalist to transcend his role, seeking excellence, based also on the values of humility and humanism.

This article analyses the importance that prestige and reputation played in the social legitimacy of liberal elites. While the literature has traditionally assumed that the social preeminence of liberal elites relied on their control of the "mechanisms of influence" (e.g. clientelism and patronage), and to their adscription to broader spaces of sociability (e.g. political parties and networks of affinity), our intention is to examine the function that public image played in the survival (and decline) of political elites. By focusing on a scandal that affected one of the great press baron dynasties in Barcelona, the article will uncover the historical transformation of moral values concerning the values of legitimacy and authority, and at the same time examine how the growing importance of public opinion and the press profoundly transformed routine liberal politics. In this way, scandals will be used as an heuristic tool to renew the study of elites based on an interdisciplinary perspective that combines cultural and media history.

; Progressively, companies implement programs and activities based on business ethics, social responsibility and good governance. It is a justified strategy both in the current pressures from society, as the benefits that the firms obtain in terms of reputation and managing relationships with stakeholders. The proposal of this research is to apply the dynamics in the relationships of these variables to the case of cooperatives. In particular, it is studied the consequences of business ethics and social responsibility on the propensity to implement codes of conduct, and its impact on the achievement of good government in the cooperative and a greater reputation. Besides, it is argued that cooperatives with higher reputation are more likely to adopt principles based on ethics and social responsibility. In short, the main contribution of this paper is the justification for the circular relationship among these variables in the case of cooperatives, as they are organizations with an own singularity in terms of legal, economic and social.

; In the political field, studies on the concept of reputation as an intangible organizational value have been practically non-existent, since it is an area normally considered as exclusive of the business area. We debate on this paradigm from the perspective of accountability to stakeholders, having as a reference or guide the reputation, and considering that the fundamental conclusions about it in the field of business can also be valid for political organizations, making it clear that in the case of ultra-liberal capitalism the creation of good reputation is hindered and even prevented. To conclude, we have revealed that, for the Spanish case, the most representative political parties, which are presented to citizens as substantially different between them, base their electoral programs on ethical values (Values), the true sources of reputation, and sometimes, even the same.

The objective of this research is to deepen the Social Responsibility practices that are related to Corporate Reputation, from the appreciation of stakeholders. First, Social Responsibility, currently in many companies is managed from sustainability and is theoretically addressed from the approach of the interrelation of the economic, legal and ethical dimensions proposed by Schwartz. Secondly, Corporate Reputation is studied from the perspective of trust and ethics established by Adela Cortina. In addition, the concept of interest groups, classified in this research as internal and external, is reviewed; the internal ones are, mainly, the directors and collaborators, shareholders and investors, and the external ones are clients, suppliers, communities, government and authorities. To do this, four case studies (Pablo Tobón Uribe, Crepes & Waffles, Celsia and Mattelsa Hospital) and three of their suppliers and a beneficiary organization were analyzed using a semi-structured interview. Regarding the findings, it was found that a capacity of the companies that allows the construction of reputation is to generate trust, which is developed from the respect of the working conditions, the safety of the personnel, the fulfillment of the scheduled delivery times. , the preservation of the environment and the quality of the processes. The results of this work have application in organizational strategies for social, environmental, economic sustainability and for organizational reputation. In addition, the revised theoretical models show the importance of research in practices of Social Responsibility and Corporate Reputation of organizational management processes. ; Maestría

Problematic: in a context of risk, the reputation of an organization is affected by the expectations of its members. Consequently, the prestige of the organization is a function of the future needs of its members, when they converge on a common purpose and task. Objectives: to establish the structure of expectations around the reputation of a higher education institution (HEI), comparing the literature review with the responses to a survey. Materials and methods: an exploratory, cross-sectional and psychometric study was carried out with a sample of 100 students. Results: the structure of seven factors was established (follow-up, adherence, counseling, interview, mediation, promotion and follow-up) that supported 82% of the total variance explained. In other words, corporate reputation is explained through the relationship between these seven factors, as they clarify the internal and external expectations of the public institution. Discussion: the study's contribution to the state of knowledge lies in the testing of a structural equation model to explain corporate reputation in a public university. The seven established factors follow the same relationships reported in the selected literature, although the percentage of the variance explained suggests the inclusion of an eighth factor, identified as corporate image. These are expectations external to the institution that place it in accordance with the medium-term objectives. Conclusion: corporate reputation is linked to accompaniment as a preponderant factor. It means, then, that both internally and externally the university is distinguished by its degree of attention and monitoring of academic rights. Consequently, educational policies can be evaluated from corporate reputation as an indicator of participation and governance. Contribution / originality: the reliability and validity of an instrument that measured seven dimensions of corporate reputation was established.

The convergence between the proliferation of new technologies and the rise of management has led to the birth of a new concept: online reputation. This research comes before the need to shape a theoretical framework that strengthens the concept and professionalizes its management. To this end, is being carried out a compilation of definitions and conceptual models from different disciplines that make up the diagnosis on the state of the object of study. Despite the multidisciplinary perspective of the investigation, the leading hypothesis frames online reputation in the specific field of corporate communication. The aim is to show that the reputation online forms part of the corporate reputation and needs to be managed with the same indicators. Thus, the models of online reputation must be aligned with the overall strategy of the company's reputation. For this reason is refuted the reductionist vision that focus their presentations in the search engine optimization and analysis of the views on social networks. The horizontal nature of the concept matrix —corporate reputation—, coupled with the technical requirements of the online field; allow the rise for the development of a wide range of professional roles.
