Modern Theories of Wisdom: Literature Review
In: Visnyk Kyïvsʹkoho Nacionalʹnoho Universytetu imeni Tarasa Ševčenka. Serija, Ukraïnoznavstvo, Heft 2 (12), S. 34-37
The article presents a theoretical analysis of modern theories of wisdom, considers the formation and essence of the concept of wisdom in psychology. At the end of the twentieth century, the interest of psychologists in the subject of wisdom began to grow. Wisdom as a concept is integral to any society, culture and time, it reveals those qualities of personality that help a person to be realized. The concept of wisdom requires theoretical justification and empirical research. In general, there are two main concepts of wisdom: one affirms the affective qualities more or less with the cognitive, inherent in man; the other focuses precisely on cognitive and reflexive abilities, ignoring emotional life. This typification has proved itself in several planes. In the history of philosophy, the understanding of wisdom had both an affective and a cognitive character, represented by East and West. Empirical studies of implicit concepts of wisdom conducted in recent years indicate the variability of perception of wisdom. In the East, the concept of wisdom is less analytical and more psychological than in the West, which requires an understanding not only of the intellectual, but also of the sensual (emotions, intuition, etc.). Cross-cultural empirical studies confirm the general difference in the perception of wisdom in different cultures. The influence of age on the manifestations of wisdom in humans should be noted separately. Research has shown that age negatively affects the intellectual component of wisdom, but is neutral to procedural knowledge. On the one hand, with age a person acquires experience that can interpret and extract new procedural knowledge from him. On the other hand, the fact that a person has life experience does not determine a person's qualitative interpretation of what happened to him. The age factor cannot be decisive in becoming wise.

Inter-Korean relations: modern review ;
The article provides data on the current situation on the Korean Peninsula. Creating a peaceful denuclearization process was supposed to ensure an irreversible stable peace order on the Korean Peninsula, but today there is a difficult situation that could trigger a new era of the Cold War, if by 2020 the US and North Korea do not reach a consensus, North Korea is likely to take another path that could threaten peace on the Korean Peninsula. What is the essence of another path that North Korea will choose? This is close cooperation with China and Russia, the choice of the "North Korean" path of denuclearization: step by step, gradually, in parallel. This means, first of all, a significant strengthening of China's position in both the political and economic spheres. In this case, South Korea will lose the world market for goods, the latest technological developments and innovations. This means that South Korea will lose the opportunity for close economic, social and cultural cooperation with North Korea, which in turn will greatly complicate the process of peaceful transformation of the Korean Peninsula and, of course, may delay the reunification of the two Koreas. In addition, there is a high probability that North Korea, even if it carries out the process of denuclearization, can strengthen defense, buy the latest weapons from Russia and China. The article also points out that South Korea is facing a dilemma: blindly follow the US ally or, as the President of the Republic of Korea Moon Jae-in said, find its way to resolve the dilemma. The article also pays special attention to the strategy of South Korea, which is to find a way that benefits all the Korean people, without compromising the dignity of the United States. However, the main issue addressed in this article is the change in South Korea's strategy towards decisive economic and socio-cultural cooperation with North Korea, despite international sanctions against the DPRK. To do this, South Korea will need to develop a special strategy that would allow, without violating international rules, to convince the surrounding countries by diplomatic means and, above all, the United States that such a path will benefit everyone. The difficulty is that there is no time for long reflection, and therefore the Republic of Korea will most likely need to show determination and persuasiveness.

Sex Differences in Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD): Short Literature Review
In: Visnyk Kyïvsʹkoho Nacionalʹnoho Universytetu imeni Tarasa Ševčenka. Serija, Ukraïnoznavstvo, Heft 2 (12), S. 72-76
The review of the latest foreign literature on the issue of sex differences in ADHD carriers is presented. The analysis of theories on the causes of the prevalence of the disorder among boys and girls is presented, and minor sex differences are highlighted. Therefore, ADHD is more common among boys than among girls, which leads to arguments about the difference valid in the prevalence of the disorder among men and women. Also, many researchers have noticed certain differences in the symptoms and behaviour of girls compared to boys, both in childhood and adulthood.
Boys and girls with ADHD appear to be more similar than different, and usually the symptoms are not sex specific, but still there is a difference. In general, these differences are manifested in the fact that girls have problems with the emotional sphere and the predominant inattentive symptoms of ADHD, while boys have problems with the behavioural sphere and the predominant impulsive and hyperactive type of ADHD. Moreover, boys are more aggressive in behaviour than girls, although girls are more likely to manifest verbal aggression than their female peers, who do not have the disorder.
It has been found that the difference in the prevalence of the disorder among males and females can be described by the Cognitive Endophenotype Theory, which assumes the influence of generally accepted endophenotypes on the severity of ADHD, that means processing speed, inhibition and working memory. This theory does not preclude theories such as the Mean Difference Model and the Variance Difference Model, which state that men on the average have more severe symptoms than women, and thus the scale of the severity of the ADHD among boys is much wider than among women.

Review : The guerrilla glory of 1941-1943 is in a great doubt
There are more than a hundred candidates of historical sciences in Chernihiv region, but not a single (!) dissertation about the partisan movement in Chernihiv region in 1941–1943 has been defended. It seems to be not so difficult to write it: so many materials, documents in local archives! However… we have what we have. This topic for thorough scientific reflection is still waiting for its conscientious researcher. At the same time, the solid foundation in this case has already been laid by the head of the branch of the Chernihiv Historical Museum named after V. Tarnovsky "Military History Museum" Mykhailo Zhyrokhov. As a historian-immigrant from Donbass, he really "shot" with four books in the last year, which caught attention of review's author: "Red" partisans of Dobryanshchyna: behind the scenes of Soviet myths "(2020)," Ivan Bovkun: the bloody path of the "people's Avenger" "(2020)," Yakov Batyuk's partizan's Group: The End of a Legend "(2021)," Yuri Zbanatsky: A False Hero from Soviet Childhood "(2021). They were published in Chernihiv by the newly established Knyazhiy Grad publishing house. M. Zhyrokhov tried to look at partisan actions in the Chernihiv region, taking into account today's historiographical developments, regardless of the close supervision of the former chief curator-reader of memoirs about 1941-1943 in the Pridesen Alexei Fedorov. This freedom and looseness deprived the researcher of the brakes in studying the complex plots of the last war. It is clear that a large layer of facts of those times was for a long time "untouchable", hidden, deliberately deleted and not inspected.

THE DEMOCRATIC POWER OF SOCIAL MEDIA: A THEORETICAL REVIEW Yevhen Laniuk
The paper analyzes the approaches of several notable researchers to the issue whether social media promotes democracy. It generalizes some of the crucial theoretical arguments, elaborated by these scholars, and divides them into two groups – cyber-optimists and cyber-skeptics. The fi rst group of scholars argues that social media has become coordinating tools for almost all modern world political movements – from broad and nationwide to small and local, – while the second questions its ability to produce any pro-democratic changes per se. In the end the paper proposes a theoretical framework, in which the relationship between social media and political institutions can be analyzed. In particular, it argues that social media causes merging between mass and interpersonal communication, and, in doing so, challenges the link between media and political institutions, which, according to the classic book "Four Theories of the Press" (F. Siebert, T. Peterson and W. Schramm), characterized media in the epoch of traditional broadcast and printed outlets.

Second: young Ukrainians who grew up in emigration and did not learn Ukrainian. The main principle of the editorial policy of the magazine was proclaimed: to be an authoritative source of information about the situation of Ukrainians under the occupation of Russia, to explain the distinctness of the history of Ukrainians and their statehood aspirations to foreigners, to get them acquainted with culture, literature and traditions of Ukrainians. In the analysis of the magazine's mass circulation policy the attention is drawn to the fact that for 38 years circulation was 1,500 copies, minimum – 950. Half of this press run was accounted for subscribers, the other half was distributed free of charge. The magazine was distributed in accordance with an addressees' list. It was sent to libraries, academic institutions, newspaper editors, political parties, universities, colleges and schools, as well as to individual politicians, scholars, journalists, parliamentarians in most parts of Western Europe, America and Asia. Класики і романтики: спроба саморецензії ; Classics and Romantics: an Attempt of Self-review
; In my article, I sum up main results of my research of "Weimar classics" and early German romanticism presented in my book "Klasyky i romantyky: shtudii z istorii nimetskoi literatury 18–19 st." ("The Classics and the Romantics: The Studies of the History of German Literature in the 18th–19th Centuries", 2013). I analyze the notions of three worldview crises of modern era. By the end of the 18th – beginning of the 19th centuries, there was a first crisis in the aesthetical, philosophical, and religious spheres. The philosophers of that epoch presented utopian project of searching for a lost ideal condition in the past, in the history. From the aesthetical and historical standpoints, they divided art into mass and high, and from the historical stance, into modern and "classical" mainstreams. By the end of the 19th – beginning of the 20th centuries, there was a second crisis of Modern times, and the third crisis occurs in a present time. The classics and the romantics initiated artistic avant-garde: presented a young protagonist in the literature, accented the meaning of young author as the bearer of progressive mind; elaborated on such features of avant-garde text as irony, parody, "play" with a reader, implicit and explicit citations, pastiche, allusions, paraphrases, centons, etc. As European civilization left behind the classical values, the "Modern" project lost its meaning; it turned into a "high narrative" of the past. Contemporary literature is one of the means to maintain society in the stable condition, and in this status, there are necessary communicative and meaningful forms of the discourse and communication. In this status, literature insensibly merges with the non-fictional forms, including "digital verbalism" of social media, which is controlled not by philosophers, but by businessman and politicians.
