Background: The importance of Indian germplasm as origin and primary center of diversity of cultivated melon is widely accepted. Genetic diversity of several collections from Indian has been studied previously, although an integrated analysis of these collections in a global diversity perspective has not been possible. In this study, a sample of Indian collections together with a selection of world-wide cultivars to analyze the genetic diversity structure based on Genotype by Sequence data. Results: A set of 6158 informative Single Nucleotide Polymorphism (SNP) in 175 melon accessions was generated. Melon germplasm could be classified into six major groups, in concordance with horticultural groups. Indian group was in the center of the diversity plot, with the highest genetic diversity. No strict genetic differentiation between wild and cultivated accessions was appreciated in this group. Genomic regions likely involved in the process of diversification were also found. Interestingly, some SNPs differentiating inodorus and cantalupensis groups are linked to Quantitiative Trait Loci involved in ripening behavior (a major characteristic that differentiate those groups). Linkage disequilibrium was found to be low (17 kb), with more rapid decay in euchromatic (8 kb) than heterochromatic (30 kb) regions, demonstrating that recombination events do occur within heterochromatn, although at lower frequency than in euchromatin. Concomitantly, haplotype blocks were relatively small (59 kb). Some of those haplotype blocks were found fixed in different melon groups, being therefore candidate regions that are involved in the diversification of melon cultivars. Conclusions: The results support the hypothesis that India is the primary center of diversity of melon, Occidental and Far-East cultivars have been developed by divergent selection. Indian germplasm is genetically distinct from African germplasm, supporting independent domestication events. The current set of traditional Indian accessions may be considered as a population rather than a standard collection of fixed landraces with high intercrossing between cultivated and wild melons. ; Javier Forment from the Bioinformatics Core Service at IBMCP for support in bioinformatics analysis. Il saggio analizza la problematica del ruolo dello Stato nel Regno Unito con riguardo alla tutela della salute e della sicurezza nei luoghi di lavoro nella contingente situazione di emergenza sanitaria. L'A. mette in evidenza, in particolare, il fallimento delle politiche governative nella protezione dei lavoratori dai rischi legati al Covid 19, ritenendo che ciò non abbia carattere episodico ma sia sintomatico di un processo di deregolazione in materia. Come rimarcato, infatti, gradualmente il sistema di protezione, fondato su interventi normativi molto incisivi che avevano costituito un modello anche per altri paesi, è stato sostituito da un diverso approccio basato sul metodo partecipativo, con il coinvolgimento soprattutto del livello individuale di partecipazione e senza il concorso delle organizzazioni sindacali. L'attenzione è rivolta anche alla riduzione delle risorse destinate a finanziare le ispezioni del lavoro per il rispetto delle misure di sicurezza. The essay analyzes the problem of the role of the State in the UK with regard to the protection of health and safety in the workplace in the contingent health emergency situation. The Author specifies the failure of government policies to protect workers from the risks associated with Covid 19 and argues that this is not episodic but symptomatic of a process of deregulation in the matter. As noted, in fact, gradually the protection system, based on very incisive regulatory interventions which had also constituted a model for other countries, was replaced by a different approach based on the participatory method, with the involvement above all the individual level of participation and without the cooperation of trade union organizations. Attention is also paid to reducing the resources intended to finance labor inspections for compliance with safety measures.

Partendo da alcuni studi preliminari sul ruolo della vergogna nella letteratura di Elfriede Jelinek e sostenendosi su alcune teorie di Luce Irigaray ed Hélène Cixous sul pensiero della differenza sessuale, il contributo indaga il binomio "Scham/Schamlosigkeit" in alcuni scritti dell'autrice austriaca, premio Nobel per la letteratura nel 2004. I romanzi Die Klavierspielerin e Lust, qui analizzati insieme ai due saggi Schamgrenzen? Die gewöhnliche Gewalt der weiblichen Hygiene e Schamlos: Die Zeit, mostrano come la violenza nella dimensione privata e apparentemente calma della famiglia austriaca sia profondamente legata alla vergogna e alla spudoratezza. In Jelinek, Scham e Schamlosigkeit assumono una dimensione sempre politica e sessuata con delle conseguenze devastanti sul corpo e sul linguaggio. I rapporti tra i personaggi che l'autrice analizza, non senza toni ironici, fanno emergere delle dinamiche sadomasochistiche e di profonda dipendenza in cui si oppongono due elementi figli del patriarcato, che si nutrono l'un l'altro: il disgusto del maschile da una parte e la vergogna del femminile dall'altra. Solo attraverso alcune, flebili parole di resistenza, voce della vulnerabilità umana, Erika e Gerti, le due protagoniste dei romanzi presi in esame, tentano, senza riuscirci, di superare "la porta della vergogna". ; Moving from specific studies on the role of shame in Elfriede Jelinek's work and referring to feminist theories by Luce Irigaray and Hélène Cixous, my paper investigates the conceptual pair Scham/Schamlosigkeit (shame/shamelessness) in selected works by the Austrian writer and 2004 Nobel Prize for Literature Elfriede Jelinek. Two novels (Die Klavierspielerin and Lust) and two essays (Schamgrenzen? Die gewöhnliche Gewalt der weiblichen Hygiene and Schamlos: Die Zeit) will be examined to show that the private violence committed in some apparently perfect Austrian families from the middle-class - depicted in Jelinek's novels - is deeply rooted in shame and shamelessness. To Jelinek shame always has a political and gendered connotation and has terrific consequences on body and language. The relationships described in Jelinek's novels reveal sadomasochistic and typically patriarchal dynamics in which masculine disgust and feminine shame stand opposite. Through weak "resistance words" the vulnerability of Erika and Gerti, the two main female characters of both the novels involved in the study, arises, and they try in vain to find a way to overcome the "shame's door" and go beyond it.

The field of air transport governance is dynamic and changing quite rapidly. This article analyses the European system of air traffic management (ATM) as a specific case study of EU regulation of standardisation and how it is changing towards a modernisation of the entire system. The creation of the single European sky is a growing area of EU policy, which shows the potential and difficulties of coordinating national competence, with the aim of boosting the efficiency of air transport in Europe. The application of the standardisation process will be extended to EUROCONTROL with a focus on its role in the adoption of new technologies and its reaction in the process of standardisation related to air transport up to 2050.

The paper examines the talent training through the new dual learning methodologies and the new role of the secondary school teacher in the alternation between school and work.The dissemination of forms of work-based learning has been and is at the heart of the most significant European recommendations on the subject of education and training.In Italy in particular, in the light of recent legislative interventions on apprenticeship training (Legislative Decree 81 of 2015) and on the alternation between school and work (Law 107 called "Buona scuola") a strong message was launched to teachers, tutors, tutors companies, managers, entrepreneurs in order to create new contaminations between the educational world and the world of work to counter the negative phenomena of youth unemployment and Neet.It is therefore necessary to ask ourselves about some "key questions" such as: how can the school make these dual methods effective redesigning new curricola? This paper looks at the recent debt crisis in Greece and argues that the crisis exemplifies a sequence of systematic mistakes made by International Financial Institutions, mistakes whose consequences had been clearly anticipated at the time of the first bail-out and could have been avoided. I will argue that the "original sin" of international creditors has been that of refinancing, rather than partially writing off, the debt. This mistake has led to excessively restrictive policies, and has ultimately to interventions of bail-out/in much larger than those which would have solved the problem at the outset, causing unnecessary pain to the economy and damaging both creditors' and debtors' interests.

The paper dwells on the question of legal pluralism as a re- sult of the progressive stabilization of liberal democracy. This means that even the techniques of legal analysis and argumentation are subjected to an overall critical reflection, in the name of interdisciplinarity. In fact, a democratic society in the mature sense is a pluralist society. Conse- quently, it is necessary that the juridical sphere be in close relation with the social sphere, otherwise it happens that the juridical system and the social system remain worlds apart, or at least too little interconnected. Therefore, the opening of law to the other social sciences (but also to the human sciences) is fundamental for a better and progressive adaptation of law to society. In fact, legal analysis cannot be reduced to a normative analysis, but must be understood as a social analysis. Consequently, a problem of renewal of the process of formation of the jurist also arises. On the one hand, because the training of the jurist is destined to continue in the post-university phase; on the other hand, because it is necessary to reflect on the mode of access to the classical legal professions, in the perspective of a broader training of the future jurist. ; Lo scritto si sofferma sulla questione del pluralismo giuridi- co quale portato della progressiva stabilizzazione della liberal-democra- zia. Ciò fa sì che anche le tecniche di analisi giuridica e di argomenta- zione siano sottoposte a una complessiva riflessione critica, nel segno della interdisciplinarità. Infatti, una società democratica in senso maturo è una società pluralista. Conseguentemente, è necessario che l'ambito giuridico sia in stretta relazione con l'ambito sociale, altrimenti accade che sistema giuridico e sistema sociale rimangono mondi a sé stanti, o comunque troppo poco interconnessi. Pertanto, l'apertura del diritto alle altre scienze sociali (ma anche alle scienze umane) è fondamentale per un migliore e progressivo adeguamento del diritto alla società. L'analisi giu- ridica non può infatti ridursi a un'analisi normativa, ma deve essere intesa quale analisi sociale. Conseguentemente, si pone anche un problema di rinnovamento del processo di formazione del giurista. Da un lato, perché la formazione del giurista è destinata a proseguire nella fase post-univer- sitaria; da un altro lato, perché occorre riflettere sulla modalità di accesso alle classiche professioni legali, nella prospettiva di una formazione più ampia del futuro giurista. ; Lo scritto si sofferma sulla questione del pluralismo giuridi- co quale portato della progressiva stabilizzazione della liberal-democra- zia.
