The paper analyzes developments on the Croatian television market during the last decade, focusing specially on the changes that have been taking place since 2009 and their effect on the diversity and pluralism of the current television programs. The study presents the data on the structural diversity of the Croatian television market which reached its peak in the second decade of the 21st century, as the processes of privatization and commercialization had been completed. The research includes data and the analysis of the television audience distribution during last several years, showing the major change regarding the position of the public service broadcaster which occurred during that time. Content pluralism and diversity of the television programs were analyzed using the data on the genres structure of the main national broadcasters, one public and two commercial, with the emphasis on the news and current affairs genres as well as the other high social value programs regarded as the content in the public interest. The genres structures and distribution in the overall national television program output were put in the relation to the genres audience ratings, showing the gap between the 'supply' of the programs offering content in the public interest and the audience 'demand' expressed by their total audience share, which could be considered as the guideline for the media policy and regulation. In the conclusion, the potential of the television pluralism and diversity as the possible tool to enhance the democratic functions of the media in Croatia are pointed out, as well as the need for further audience research which would explore complex relation between genres and audience expectations, needs and choices. In the research traditions of social & political science two central answers are being sought. The first is what is the relationship between the specific configurations of the proponents of social changes & the particular outcomes of their activity? The other is which changes in the configuration of the proponents lead to better results than the existing ones relative to the value criteria such as peace, feasible development, or social justice? This makes the reference framework of contemporary discussions on institutional shaping of the relations between the state & the society. In this work, the author first mentions three dominant dimensions of social change to which all of us are exposed. Second, by changing perspective, he goes over from a passive to an active approach in order to observe the actors (citizens) & the forms of their activity (civilness) that might challenge the forces of change & transform them into tolerable or even desirable outcomes. And third, he contributes to the discussion about civilness & depicts in bigger detail six fallacies that must be avoided if one wants to attain a competent configuration of activity. Considering the rise of euroscepticism in France, especially in the eve of key events for the EU integration process, the article identifies the key actors promoting euroscepticism & the motivation behind their political action. The article tries to show that the main eurosceptical actors are opposition & marginal political parties with either left or right political orientation, & that the main motives for their political behavior are not to be found in their ideology, nor in a rational political competition, & not even in the French political tradition (and that is the reason why euroscepticism is considered only as a phenomenon). The motives for euroscepticism are found in the actors' drive towards short-term political goals with a help of populist rhetoric in order to discredit the EU project, but without an intention to offer counter proposals & long term political projects. The article analyses the results of the EU Parliament elections, the referendum for the EU Constitutional contract & discusses the electoral attitudes of certain political parties regarding their ideological orientation. The concluding remarks offer & explanation of the political parties motives for euroscepticism, an explanation of the social context where euroscepticism is accepted & a general analysis of the phenomenon. The author looks into the role of TV debates in presidential electoral campaigns & how the pioneering attempt at their organization in Croatia in 2005 was received by Croatian voters & how these TV debates differed from the American model. Namely, one of the novel developments in the Croatian 2005 presidential electoral campaigns were three TV debates between Stjepan Mesic & Jadranka Kosor, the two leading candidates who competed in the run-off ballot. The debates were organized on the three national TV networks (HRT, RTL & Nova TV) & the ratings were high. Tables, Graphs, References. Adapted from the source document.

Today, crises strike corporations, political & government institutions & a plethora of organizations, as well as individuals. In this paper the authors analyze the types & the causes of crises, & strategies as crisis response. Some crises trigger off major & irreparable damage, & some can result in improved credibility (crisis as opportunity). Due to the significance of crises, today's management pays a lot of attention to crisis communication. Crises have, or at least ought to have, a strategic position in the life of organizations. Crises & crisis communication can be understood by means of using strategies as a crisis response. Tables, References. Adapted from the source document.

This paper, based on the analysis of articles published in the scientific journal Politicka misao between 1964 and 1987, aims to offer a detailed understanding of the history of IR discipline by combining the conceptual and contextual approach, positioning articles within three major theoretical debates, categorizing them thematically and then placing them within an academic environment. Analyzed articles represent the foundation of the IR discipline, hence its history portrays the way in which, in SFRY in general, and in Croatia in particular, it attempted to create its own identity. Finally, this analysis provides key insights related to the context, theoretical framework, discourse and concept development of IR in Croatia. Adapted from the source document.

This is an introduction to a special section of this issue, in which we publish four articles by Croatian scholars of a younger generation who work abroad or have obtained their academic qualifications abroad. By inviting them to participate in the existing community of Croatian political studies scholars, we hope to expand the boundaries of the discipline. In many ways, their articles offer a new perspective in terms of methodology, academic style, conclusions & the choice of topics they focus on. Hence, we should perhaps characterize this effort as being a step towards the emergence of a potentially new generation in the field of Croatian political studies. Adapted from the source document.
