• Yesterday, Superintendent of Schools Randall J. Condon announced that Cincinnati schools are to reopen tomorrow at 8:15 am, after being closed for 6 weeks.• "Children in public schools are to have a simple but impressive peace celebration tomorrow morning."• School will be held until noon, according to Mayor Galvin's "Victory Day" announcement.• Superintendent Randall J. Condon said that students with influenza should not come to school until seven days "after the fever had left, and not if any member of the family is ill with influenza."• Books should be brought to the school that were in the houses of people who had influenza, and there they will be fumigated and rebinded.• 17,000+ parochial students will go back to school next Monday, according to Superintendent Rev. William Schmitt.• Classes there will begin at 8 am instead of 8:30 to make up for the time when the schools were closed, but the afternoon schedule will remain the same.• President of the Board of Education, Dr. John M. Withrow announced that signing of the armistice would not change the status of troops that were in Cincinnati public schools for focational education.• The contract of the Cincinnati Board of Education will be in effect, where they will trail 250 soldiers from Oct. 15 to Dec. 16, 1918, unless the government orders otherwise.• The end of the war would not affect the lease making the East Side High School a reconstruction hospital, which was signed by the government. ; Newspaper article ; 10

• Dr. Maclay Lyon, named earlier by the health board to be in charge of school inspection, emphasized last night the danger of influenza and the need for better medical inspection in Kansas City Public Schools• Dr. Lyon says 35 volunteer physicians are needed and that only 15 have agreed to help so far; volunteers are to giver there names to Dr. Lyon at 501 Bryant Building• The school board and health board have no funds to pay physicians to inspect schools and are dependent on philanthropy; Lyons said that an effort has been started to introduce a bill in the legislature to provide means for the issuance of bonds for school inspection ; Newspaper article ; 10A
