This master thesis focuses on the legal regulation of the freedom of movement of EU citizens with regard to access to social security of hosting EU countries. The relevance of the study is related to the fact that despite the very high level of liberalization of the freedom of the movement of persons and access to social security system within the EU, the legal regulation of this area of relations continues to evolve. The object of research in this study is an access of mobile EU citizens to host country's social security system in a regard of the freedom of movement of persons in the European Union. The aim of the master thesis is to comprehensively analyze legal regulations of the freedom of movement of EU mobile citizens in a relation to access to social security system of hosting EU countries. Main tasks of the work were: 1) to reveal the theoretical aspects of EU citizenship, EU citizens' fundamental rights and freedoms, the freedom of movement of individuals and social tourism; 2) to analyze sources of primary and secondary legislation and court judgements; 3) to carry out a critical analysis of the impact of mobile EU citizens on a social security of the host EU countries; 4) identify practices to improve the existing mechanisms for the legal regulation of the freedom of movement of persons in the EU in the context of access to social security of the host EU member states.
