Apart from texts of songs, the author singles out and examines common East Slavonic elements of wedding rituals and specific local features that are unique in Malynovi klyn. The scholar believes that despite complicated conditions and social, historical and political changes which have taken place in Russian Kuban' in the recent two hundred years, local Ukrainians persevere in national traditions and memory about the past of their ancestors. Traditions of Ukrainian wedding culture are also well preserved and passed on to following generations. Key words: wedding songs, wedding, ritual, Kuban'. The present article aims to examine the Black Sea / Kuban Cossacks' songs as one of the most important historical sources, which allows us to understand the important aspects of the history of the North Caucasus Ukrainian people'. This is primarily due to the new challenges needed to study the evolution of their identity, certain features of the mentality, and "survival strategies" characteristic for the Ukrainian population in the region. New questions put by historians require expansion of sources where song tradition, folklore, etc., can become invaluable material for comprehension and interpretation of the new understanding of the history process. The authors have based on the fact that in recent times there have been a fundamental change of attitude towards scientific issues and accordingly to sources, which scientists were based on. Strict approaches and requirements to sources which historians relied on during the period of "positivism" have become much more flexible and spread to the analysis of art, culture and folklore of certain social groups and historical periods. It has become possible to find new approaches to solving problems of scientific research and expand the range of issues which can already be answered. One of the unexplored phenomena, yet barely covered in the domestic science is the history of Ukrainian communities of the North Caucasus (Kuban) area. The authors propose to consider the peculiarities of mentality of this community through the prism of song tradition of the Black Sea / Kuban Cossacks that played a crucial role in all spheres of life.Besides, the features of song traditions of Ukrainian Cossacks (worth noting the important role of folk choreographic culture - Cossack dance) which react very quickly to current events of certain historical periods allows us to consider it as a very important indicator of community' response to new circumstances (social, economic, ideological) in which the community was. The approach enables us to view features of "history of mentalities" of the Ukrainian community in the region much more than focusing on official documents and political declarations.

; The research covers the experience gained by Community enterprise Sumy specialized school 10 of I-III levels named after the Hero of the USSR O. The attention is attracted to the importance of a song in the lives of modern and previous generations of Cossacks; its use in everyday life, during the entertaining, training, war operations, national holidays. It is characterized by a mutually enriching unity of words, music and performance. It is noted that the author's song is based on artistic poetic language, which should convey the author's idea to the listener as accurately as possible. It is proved that a complex content structure, high quality, a large number of songs – this is not a complete list of characteristics that allow us to consider the author's song as a phenomenon of a new layer of culture, not reducible to the already known layers of culture, both professional and folklore. The phenomenon of "author's song" was created through creative activity, called "folk amateur performance". However, many songs were written that reached the level of "professionalism". It is described that numerous researchers noted that the author of the author's song, in fact, does not compose music into poetry, but transforms the work of art as a whole. They convince that this is a very difficult work, which is not instantaneous, because it requires a huge preparatory ...
The Riflemen of Sich's songs in their perfect poetic form provide an extensive satirical picture of the aggressive invasion policy of the inter-war of Poland towards Ukraine. The folk-and-poetic political satire of the Ukrainians on the Polish enslavers in the first half of the 20th c., on the one hand, rests on the solid achievements of the previous centuries, on the other – however –has elaborated new original means and devices of satirical poetic techniques to optimally meet the adequate reflection on that epoch's reality. Owing to its folklore nature it is distinguished by an extremely active and durable functioning in the broad national milieu, which brought about the development in the mass oral-and-poetic consciousness of stable satirical stereotypes of foreign invaders. Keywords: folklore satire, political folklore, Sich Riflemen's songs, satire poetics.
The release of the collection "Little Russian Songs Published by M. Maksymovych" in 1827 became the event that led to revolutionary changes in the advance of the Ukrainian national liberation movement of the first third of the 19th century. The preface to this book, outlined both as the manifesto of Ukrainian romanticism and the first declaration of Ukrainian studies, based on the dominant idea of the "universal nation", initiated the processes of new conceptualization of the common identity of Ukrainians. Two next collections by Maksymovych – "Ukrainian Folk Songs" and "Collected Ukrainian Songs" – also became important in establishing a new methodological paradigm of the complex of sciences about Ukraine and Ukrainians: the totality of their metadiscursive modalities witnessed the formation of ideological models characterized not as Little Russian, but genuinely Ukrainian consciousness, directed towards the "horizon" of worldview imperatives of folk verbal culture. For the first time, such ideological transformations resulted in the literally mass movement of the Ukrainian intelligentsia, who began coordinating their efforts around the practices and theoretical modalities of the common national cause – the collection of Ukrainian songs. Perceptions of the social "nature" of Ukrainians as a separate ethnic community began to change rapidly: the division into gentry and Cossacks, on the one hand, and into peasantry deprived of any political subjectivity, on the other hand, was no longer perceived as axiomatic. The same songs heard throughout the entire Ukrainian ethnographic territory caused the emergence of the first modern concepts of the national territorial unity; a new understanding of the history of Ukraine based on the ethos and historiosophy of the heroic melodious epic was also being formed. Although M. Maksymovych did not question the integrity of the empire in his legacy, objectively the ideas and strategies of the Ukraine-focused school that he conceptualized had a revolutionary character and significantly influenced the processes of forming the communal identity of Ukrainians.

Over the centuries, genres and forms that highlight society's fundamental problems and needs have been developed in the Ukrainian culture. The prolonged absence of independence and difficult political circumstances in the life of the Ukrainian ethnic group led to the distinction of national and patriotic themes in various artistic manifestations. This is especially evident in folk songs and legends, which are well remembered and most quickly passed on in oral practice. With the development of musical art, the spiritual song also developed. The process of inception and development of spiritual songs in Ukrainian culture was long-lasting. The most powerful stage fell on the Baroque era; however, even after the decades of Romanticism, the spiritual music remained an essential component of Ukrainians' national religious and musical culture. This was probably due to the intimacy of the form to the ordinary folk songs and the current content, which reflected the pressing problems of society, the most important historical events, and liturgical holidays or Christian symbols. Therefore, the article deals with some aspects of the content of Ukrainian spiritual songs of the 17–18thcenturies. For the analysis were selected such songs: spiritual songs "Zlyi Tataryne" ("Evil Tatar"), written not later than the third quarter of the 17thcentury, and "Veselo Spivaite, Chelom Udariaite" ("Sing Merrily, Hit with Your Forehead"), written in the late 17th– early 18thcenturies. These two songs are the most common examples of prayers to God, saints, and the Mother of God for intercession from conquering neighbors and Arians. The appeal to the Holy Virgin, glorified in one of the spiritual songs as "The Immaculate Virgin, Mother of the Ruthenia", was significantly often heard.1And this tradition was established in the poetic texts of Christian hymnography. It was found that spiritual songs combine religious and historical motives aimed at reflecting social needs alongside traditional prayers. The analysis of the selected songs is carried out, indicating the lexical parallels of hymnography chants and spiritual songs. This emphasizes the continuity and relevance of the liturgical chant practice in the Baroque era. Thus, the Ukrainian culture combined the traditions of ritual church services and the Western European Catholic-Protestant experience of spiritual chants. This emphasizes the importance of the Ukrainian spiritual song in the national artistic treasury.

The issue of the appearance and classification of Cossack songs or has recently become very significant for the region, which territory during the 15th and 17th centuries were the Cossack's motherland. It's related to the fact that in 2015 Cossack Songs of Dnipropetrovsk entered to the list of the intangible heritage of UNESCO, as well as it was noted the activity of local governments, directed to raising and reviving the national culture in the region.During the 20th and the beginning of the 21st centuries, the issue of systematic scientific research of the Dnipro rapids zone was not taken under attention, as a result we did not have a methodological basis for a comprehensive analysis of this phenomenon. Among the few works, we should highlight the articles by A. Ivanitsky and A. Tereshchenko, that represent two opposing views on the classification of Cossack songs. A. Ivanitsky presents a more broadly oriented perspective. He proposes to systematize the songs based on the content, that is, the poetic text. The author highlights the stylistic features of the songs of this group, which may be related to lyrical songs in general. A. Tereshchenko studying the Cossack songs focuses exclusively on the melodies. So, the group includes songs of different genres, such as ballads, plangent songs, choruses, romances, etc., which belong to different eras by origin, synthesizing the style of other later genres. In our work, an attempt was made to present the songs of the Cossack theme at the present stage, preserved in the memory of residents of the Dnipropetrovsk region. Among all the songs existing in the region, the Cossack songs occupy a small part. Very often, this is contamination with other genres, such as the Chumak songs, soldier marching songs, ballads, romances and others. In general, it should be noted that the songs of the Cossack theme do not have their own features that distinguish them from other lyrical songs. This thesis permeates the article by A. Tereshchenko and is confirmed in our study. Паулі «Pieśni ludu ruskiego w Galicyi».
