Objective: This study aims to identify the context of the humanization of care regarding the meaning, source of information and perception of the nursing staff of the Pediatric Hospitalization Unit (PHU) on their own care. Methods: Descriptive study with qualitative approach, carried out at Hospital das Clinicas, UFTM. Participants were 21 professionals. They answered a questionnaire with closed and open questions. Results: The professionals have recognized the institution as the main source of information. The concept of humanization and perception of their assistance, three categories emerged: structural organization / service management and relational. Nurses consider providing humanized and humanizing is a precondition for the establishment of quality care. Conclusion: It is concluded that the nursing staff of the IPU recognizes the institution's participation in an informative, however, this is not always experienced.

The objective was to identify the use of personal protection equipment by nursing workers during procedures which expose them to biological fluids. It was observational, descriptive and transversal research, with a quantitative approach, undertaken in a public hospital in the state of Paraná, in January – May 2014, using nonparticipant and intentional observation of 201 procedures through the use of a checklist. It was ascertained that, in the Surgical Center, procedure gloves (97%) obtained the greatest adherence, but that closed shoes and eye protection were not used on any occasion. In the Central Sterile Services Department, no worker used the procedure gloves, either rubber or heat-resistant, although the surgical mask (44.4%) had the greatest adherence in the cleaning room. In the Intensive Care Units and Emergency Room, the procedure gloves were used (100%), although adherence to the eye protection was low (0.86%). The nursing staff did not use all the equipment stipulated by legislation during their activities. ; El objetivo de la investigación fue identificar la utilización de los equipos de protección individual por los trabajadores de enfermería, durante procedimientos que los expongan a los fluidos biológicos. Investigación observacional, descriptiva, transversal con abordaje cuantitativo, desarrollada en un hospital público del estado de Paraná, en el periodo de enero a mayo de 2014, utilizándose observación no participante e intencional de 201 procedimientos por medio de un checklist. Objectives: To assess the adequacy of nursing staff and understand how these professionals perceive this issue. Methods: evaluative, exploratory, descriptive, quantitative and qualitative study, developed in Obstetric and Mixed Pediatric ICUs for the Hospital Don Malan / IMIP in Petrolina-PE. Was calculated the scaling nursing and 13 semistructured interviews were conducted, analyzed according to Bardin. Results: Mixed Pediatric ICU has correct number of staff and Obstetric decreasing the frame. The units have shortage of nurses and an incorrect distribution by category/ bed. It was observed that the nursing staff of the Pediatric ICUs Mixed considers its high workload, while in the ICU Obstetric this was considered mild. Conclusion: The scaling of nursing without compliance with the current legislation may compromise the quality of care offered, especially in units of critical care.
Objective: To identify in literature and education in allied health nursing practice can facilitate the process of nursing care in the hospital. Method: Integrative Review held in LILACS database. The inclusion criteria considered in full studies available in Portuguese, published in the last 10 years (2000 to 2010). Results: After reading and analyzing the articles were drawn up three thematic categories: Health education and nursing; Educating through the vertical model and horizontal, and the hospital. Conclusion: Knowledge can not simply be transferred, but instigated the educators in this case, the individual client, the real subjects are the "building and rebuilding" the educator, both inserted in the process of care and health education, is in the hospital or not.
Objective: To investigate generating feelings of psychological distress in nursing technicians before the process of suffering and death of the patient in a clinical unit, which is justified by the unexpected experiences and constant of daily stress faced by the nursing staff. Method: It is a qualitative and descriptive study. Data were collected through interviews with technical from clinical unit and analyzed by analysis of speech in thematic modality. Results: Feelings of frustration and powerlessness were seen by the subjects, resulting in pain, relieved by the use of some mechanisms such as religion. Conclusion: It is believed that foster opportunities for discussion about the process of death and dying, in its many cultural and scientific views can minimize suffering.
Objectives: To analyze the criteria for the peripheral venous access fixation in premature newborns used by nursing staff of the Semi-Intensive Neonatal Unit of the public hospital in the interior of Bahia. Method: A qualitative descriptive exploratory study that was made with sixteen professional nursing staff of a public hospital in the interior of Bahia in the period from August to September 2009. This study was approved by the Ethics Committee, with opinion number 01278-2009. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews and photographic records of peripheral venous access, and analyzed through content analysis of Bardin and semiological analysis of images, respectively. Results: The peripheral venous access fixation is achieved by inconsistent criteria and without scientific evidence. There is no standard to guide the professionals to carry out this practice. Conclusion: We suggest the elaboration of a care protocol care to underpin these professionals and systematize this practice, based on quality and excellence of care.
The Tocantins Fossil Trees Natural Monument ("Monumento Natural das Árvores Fossilizadas do Tocantins") is a Fully Protected Conservation Unit (CU), which has 16 years of activities, since October 2016. In order to contribute to improving the management of the unit we present a synopsis of the actions developed by the staff, infrastructure, challenges and researches carried out in the CU. The provided information was collected from the report of the Unit´s supervisor and also obtained from literature. The developed investigations covered different areas of knowledge. The history of the CU was marked by some progress since 2013. Social-environmental activities are carried out inside the Conservation Unit and its buffer zones. In order to guide the conservation of the CU are performed courses and anti-fire measures, which are held periodically, directed to the Unit staff and local duelers from the MNAFTO. However, the latest survey evidences that the situation of the CU is far from ideal and a revision of the management plan is required.
Objective: Knowing the technologies of the working process predominant in the relationships between professionals and users with sights to reach the comprehensiveness. Method: It is a qualitative study performed with 26 professionals of a Psychosocial Care Unit - Centro de Atenção Psicossocial - (CAPS) in a municipality of the Rio Grande do Sul state, during October 2006. The data were collected by means of a semi-structured interview and, subsequently, subjected to the thematic analysis. Results: The soft, soft-hard and hard technologies are present in the CAPS daily practices, being that the welcoming, bond and listening were identified as being soft ones; the structured skills as being soft-hard ones and the medical charts and the psychotropic drugs as being hard ones. Conclusion: The use of technologies in the CAPS working process might be mixed with comprehensiveness as the relationship between the health care staff and users is configured in an interactive space.
Objective: The objective was to understand the perception of the nursing team on the (dis)connections between management actions and care performed by nurses in a surgical intensive care unit. Method: Exploratory research with qualitative approach carried out in a surgical intensive care unit of a hospital in the public net of Fortaleza-CE, Brazil. Data was collected between March and July 2011, through semi-structured interviews and systematic observations, with 20 nursing professionals working in the sector. Results: The results were subjected to content analysis and two categories emerged: perceptions of nurses on management and care, perception of the nursing technicians on the relationship between management and care. Conclusion: It was found that nurses had different views on the connections between management and care, while nursing technicians considered them inseparable and necessary and, therefore, should be the focus of nurses' performance
