International audience ; Two reports are essential about teenager's public policy of the leisure: on the one hand the devices of occupation of free time are legion and a plethora of contracts free time are subsidized by cities council and local governments; whereas a large range of activities is offered to the teenagers during extra-curricular time, the rates of frequentation remain hopelessly weak in addition. To determine the policy issues of teenager's leisure as well as the reasons of the disaffection of the communities centres, the article use a material diversity in order to carry out a classification of teenager's leisure starting from the crossing of two analytical dimensions: the school form and the social control. These two axes make it possible to isolate three types of leisure presented successively like time for perfection, time training and time for regulation. The matrix proposed then makes it possible to determine the nature of the spare time which, although complementary to three previous times, seems like time subjectivation and by doing this a pressing temporality.

– Teenage pregnancy arouses lots of questions and remains a worldwide social and public health problem. This phenomenon isproblematic because it is often associated with socio-economic, family and psychological difficulties.Objective. – Our study aims to identify the individual and environmental factors that influence the teenager's decision whether to keep her child ornot.Method. – A sample of fourteen girls between 16 and 21 years old was recruited who had been or were pregnant. The girls were divided into2 groups: seven who decided to continue with their pregnancy and seven others who decided to have an abortion. This group was compared to girlswho had never been pregnant (n = 18). An interview was carried out and structured questionnaires were administered in order to evaluate individualand environmental characteristics as the age of menarche and the first sexual intercourse, the emotional and sexual education, the social and family support, the socio-cultural background and the socio-economic environment. Different other dimensions were analyzed: individual characteristics(Temperament and Character Inventory Junior, Impulsive Behaviour Scale, Coopersmith Self-Esteem Inventory) and family characteristics (AdverseChildhood Experiences) such as childhood family strengths and adverse childhood experiences. Results and conclusions. – Our study findings showed that a precarious socio-economic environment, a lack of support and affection in thefamily, emotional deprivations, a restricted social network, low self-esteem and school disinvestments would effectively predict the continuationof a pregnancy. Childhood family strengths seem to be strongly protective against early sexual intercourse, adolescent pregnancy and long-termpsychosocial consequences. On the other hand, no particular personality feature was demonstrated. Individual characteristics would thus have lessimpact on premature pregnancies than environmental characteristics. Prevention programs must stretch beyond the use of contraception, i.e. tendtoward an intervention for psycho-socially and socio-economically at risk families, so as to support them in their educational and affective rolewith their children. Psychological help could also be brought to young girls who have had experiences of maltreatment, to favour self-esteem andraise their awareness of the consequences of sexual risk behaviour. Finally, there should be specific help for the girls during the decision-makingperiod. Counselling during this period should be attentive to the resources and the motivations of the adolescent and to the circumstances of the pregnancy. ; Peer reviewed

International audience ; Teenage is often considered in transport policies as a transition period from parental dependency to complete autonomy in adulthood. A better knowledge of the social representations of transport modes, and in particular of the car and the public transports, makes it possible to better consider modal appetites in adulthood and thus to envisage public policies of education in favor of a more sustainable mobility. In this article, we deal with car practices and social representations of the car in the teenage population. We focus on the differences between girls and boys. This article shows the importance of the discrepancies that exist between young girls and boys at the teenage concerning modal practices, autonomy and social representation of transport modes.

The main topic of The Order of The Phoenix is a rather political one. Indeed, in this volume of Harry Potter's adventures the Ministry of Magic falls into the hands of an authoritarian direction and sends its henchwoman to take the school institution in order to control the truth about the return of the Dark lord. Moreover this volume also deals with legal instances and trials, repression, control of the press, violence. One can wonder if mixing political pamphlet and fantasy teen fiction can work together and be a success among its supposed teen target.

Suffering of young people has become a public problem. Bringing together multiple actors and put on the political agenda, this concept with its multiple definitions gives access to the representations of youth in the public debate, combining the desire to protect individuals from the risks of the emergence of mental illness or the breakdown of social ties with the desire to control their practices, which aresupposed to endanger their health. Considering that public discourse participates in the way problems and the responses to them are conceived, debates and public action texts are analysed as performative acts, disseminating the language of suffering and positioning the actors in a competitive and hierarchical space, with the identity and legitimacy of the existing agency being negotiated in the processes ofdefining the (good) care.Benefiting from the support of public health action, the teenage homes have become essential to meet the supposed needs of young people in pain. The lexicometric analysis of the national programme "teenage homes" and the local agency archives analysis reveal the oppositions and alliances between youth organisations, influencing the practices of orientation and use of the proposed offer and selecting the suffering.Beyond a constructivist perspective and the insights of the sociology of public action, the thesis is based on a corpus of three hundred files of young people aged 11 to 21 accompanied in this agency to produce a sociological definition of their psychological, physical and social experiences of suffering, this age of life appearing to be particularly affected by the difficulties in responding to social injunctions to regulate emotions, control bodies and achieve self-realisation.

This work focuses on the representations of adolescence in contemporary independent cinema. It is a question of examining the presentation in images and in discourse of this social phenomenon in six films coming from Europe and America and released in room between 2009 and 2014. By situating ourselves in the domains of Sciences of the Information and Communication, we articulate a semiotic and pragmatic approach to account for the plastic, aesthetic and communicational aspects of the films of the corpus. Our poetic and socio-political analysis simultaneously explores the cinematographic language, the conditions of production and the horizon of expectation to which the works refer. The first part sets out the theoretical categories and the method to follow to detect the relations between adolescence, cinema and representation. The second part captures the forms and effects of meaning of the films. The body is taken as the foundation of the representation of adolescence, a semiotic, social and political object. The third part focuses on the emergence of images of adolescent bodies and discourses likely to engender a look at cinematographic adolescence as a symbolic and social construction. The thesis concludes that these films constitute discourses on the adolescent universe, invite to deliberation, using a set of filmic forms that lead to reflections on the social, historical and cultural world that is deployed there. The semio-pragmatic angle makes it possible to interpret the messages that feature films want to deliver on the content of these representations in the frameworks of societies, the way in which the discourses on adolescence conform to social discourses that advocate a stance on this phenomenon.

International audience ; While there is a lot at stake in cycling, not everyone is willing to bicycle. During adolescence, girls are considerably more likely than boys to give up cycling, and this divide is particularly pronounced in priority neighbourhoods (QPV). Particularly because of strong norms of male appropriation of space, coupled with highly gendered educational practices, girls are highly likely to incorporate inclinations to protect their bodies, to fear of moving alone, of venturing out, and of occupying public space, severely limiting their actual opportunities to practice. The article shows that despite the importance of this observation, girls of the same age group and living in particularly underprivileged QPVs in the metropolises of Strasbourg and Montpellier had varied cyclist socializations revealing considerable inequalities of opportunity. While the injunctions to which they are subject push them to implement strategies to preserve or protect themselves, not all of them develop the same skills, beliefs, and dispositions. Thus, the article illustrates, on the one hand, the importance of studying how the urban, mobility, sport, health and ecological socializations of individuals are articulated, and, on the other hand, the great diversity of ways of residing and moving in disadvantaged neighbourhoods.
