The article examines the 1984 election in a longer time perspective. As compared to the turbulent 1970's it appears that the class polarization in voting between the 'old' classes has been reestablished but that the new social cleavages in party choice are at the same time reinforced. It furthermore turns out that the consensus on the welfare state which was lost in the 1970's is now reestablished, that radical socialist sentiments are weakening, and that the political distrust of the 1970's is declining. In shon, the elections of the 1980's signal a definitive break with the political climate of the 1970's. Opinion polls furthemore indicate that Denmark is heading towards a reestablishing of the 5‐party system before 1973, but with differences in relative strength between the parties, and with a different, but still group‐specific. social base.

Mean sea level observations from an historical tide gauge located in Cadiz (Southern Spain) spanning the period 1880-1924 were recovered from national archives. Daily sea level averages stored in handwritten log books were digitized, quality controlled, and referred to the same benchmark. A careful analysis of all the high precision leveling surveys available in the area of the tide gauge enabled the establishment of a common datum with a modern record starting in 1961 from another tide gauge located only 2.5km apart, with accuracy better than 5mm. As a result, a consistent daily mean sea level record from 1880 to 2009 was constructed. The 20th century relative mean sea level rise in Cadiz is 0.7 ± 0.1mmyr-1, which becomes 1.0 ± 0.2mmyr-1 once corrected for vertical land movement with high precision GPS data, in agreement with nearby records. The analysis of the seasonal sea level cycle indicated that the amplitude of the annual cycle has increased during the 20th century. This work evidences the significance of sea level data rescue for present-day climate research. The Ethics of Husserl''s Phenomenology aims to relocate the question of ethics at the very heart of Husserl''s phenomenology. This is based on the idea that Husserl''s phenomenology is an epistemological inquiry ultimately motivated by an ethical demand that pervades his writing from the publication of Logical Investigations (1900-1901) up to The Crisis of European Sciences and Transcendental Phenomenology (1935). Joaquim Siles-Borràs traces the ethical concepts apparent throughout Husserl''s main body of work and argues that Husserl''s phenomenology of consciousness, experience and meaning i
The claim that ideas play a central role in the European integration process has been recently gaining a large resonance among EU scholars. The reason for such cognitive turn(s) can be partly explained by the important transformations of EU politics and EU theories since the beginning of the 1990s. This paper identifies a strong/weak cognitivist divide in EU scholarship, and within the second, at least three different lines of academic inquiry about the role of ideas in the EU politics. The current paper points to three inter-related dimensions of the notion of ideas: instrumental, cognitive and normative, arguing that the diversity of the reviewed scholarly interpretations is due to their respective emphasis on one or another of these three dimensions. Furthermore, this three-dimensional conceptualisation of ideas facilitates a partial re-consideration of the relationship between ideas-institutions and ideas-interests in the European polity.

Investigates the organizational form of social movements as both a set of structures or relations that characterize social institutions & a cognitive model that informs identity & frames actions in a discussion of the struggle over the organizational forms of economic unionism, partisanship, & nonpartisanship in the US labor movement, 1880-1920. US society is characterized as a bricolage of organizational forms, combining political, fraternal, & military models, which movement leaders faced as a network of constraints & opportunities. Each organizational form is taken to have offered distinctive repertoires for action & cultural sensibilities that privileged certain identities & frames of action. A debate ensued between labor leaders over which model was most appropriate, with a political interest-group model ultimately adopted. It is demonstrated that this choice was conditioned by the external context faced by labor during this period & reinforced the language of individualism & self-interest in the labor movement. D. M. The Dimensions of Hegel''s Dialectic examines the epistemological import of Hegelian dialectic in the widest sense. In modern philosophy, German idealism, Hegel in particular, is said to have made significant innovative steps in redefining the meaning, scope and use of dialectic. Indeed, it is dialectic that makes up the very core of Hegel''s position, yet it is an area of his thought that is widely neglected by the available literature despite the increased interest in Hegel''s philosophy in recent years. This book brings together an international team of expert contributors in a long-overdu
This study aims to present a comparative analysis of the ethnic structure of the population in the Apuseni Mountains (in Romania) during three censuses: in 1880, 1930, and 2011. It emphasises ethnicity continuities and discontinuities, as well as the historical moments that left their mark on that evolution. Statistical data were processed, resulting in the tables showing the ethnic structure of the Apuseni, with absolute as well as relative (percentage) values for each ethnic group. Data were also processed with the aid of ArcGIS 10.3, generating maps of the territorial distribution of the ethnic groups for each administrative-territorial unit. The results show that Romanians maintained their continuity in the mountain area, while other ethnicities changed significantly in terms of numbers and percentages of the total population. The Jewish community was persecuted during the Second World War, finding themselves on the brink of disappearance at the 2011 census. German communities suffered from the socialist policies of deportation to the Soviet Union and other states. Slovaks, deeply affected by industrial restructuring, began to emigrate after the fall of communism in 1989. The most dynamic ethnic group are the Roma, who, according to the censuses, continuously increased in number and percentage. ; Cilj je ovog istraživanja predstaviti komparativnu analizu etničke strukture stanovništva u planinama Apuseni (u Rumunjskoj) tijekom triju popisa stanovništva: 1880., 1930. i 2011. godine.
