Grundlegung der theoretischen Staatswirthschaft
Emil Sax (1845-1927) was a national economist. He was secretary of the Austrian Commission for the Paris World Exhibition. As such he was responsible for the preparation of the official report on its organisation. In the following years he worked at the Vienna Chamber of Commerce and was able to habilitate as a lecturer in economics at the Technical Institute, and later at the University of Vienna. From 1873 he was secretary in the administration of the Emperor Ferdinand Northern Railway (Kaiser Ferdinands-Nordbahn). In 1879 Sax took up a position as full professor of economics at the Charles University in Prague. In the same year he was elected to the Austrian parliament. ; Emil Sax (1845-1927) war ein Nationalökonom. Er war Sekretär der österreichischen Kommission bei der Pariser Weltausstellung. Als solcher war er maßgeblich an der Ausarbeitung des offiziellen Berichts über die Organisation derselben betraut. Anschließend bekam Sax eine Anstellung als Konzipist an der Wiener Handelskammer und konnte sich während dieser Zeit als Privatdozent für Volkswirtschaft an der technischen Hochschule, später auch an der Universität Wien habilitieren. Ab 1873 wirkte er für sechs Jahre als Sekretär in der Verwaltung der Kaiser Ferdinands-Nordbahn. 1879 nahm Sax einen Ruf als o. Prof. für Wirtschaftslehre an die Karls-Universität in Prag an. Im gleichen Jahr wurde er auch in das österreichische Abgeordnetenhaus gewählt.
