The authors aim to discuss the changes in the professional field of social work, the future scenarios and the role of social work in the future society, and to present the views of social workers themselves on the future and the expected changes. The authors provide an overview of the trends in the development of social work profesion and outline the important changes in the professional field based on litearture review. The paper presents a quantitative survey of social workers in Lithuania, which aimed to uncover their attitudes towards new developments, the impact of technology and social innovation, and the future competences of social work.
The results of the study reveal that employees see changes in the field of social work, but that these changes are marginal. Not seeing change and a negative public perception of social work are also associated with a willingness to move to another field of work. Leadership and professionalism of managers and more cohesive teamwork would encourage staff to stay. The study did not show that working for any institution (municipal, governmental, non-governmental, etc.) determines social workers' attitudes. Social workers' attitudes and evaluations were more influenced by their demographics: place of residence, age, education, but even these correlations were rather weak. A large proportion of respondents were not familiar with the Sustainable Development Goals (SGD2030) or had only participated in a few sustainability initiatives, but the importance of innovations in social work practice was identified by 58% of respondents, compared to 72% of those aged between 18 and 35 years. When talking about the future competences of social work, the traditional micro-level competences of social work are highlighted: empathy, emotional intelligence, interpersonal communication and working with a group, less importance is attached to innovative, managerial or macro-level competences.

The paper deals with the meaning and the contexts of the term "immediacy" that was of great importance to the formation of the soil-bound trend (pochvennichestvo) in Russia in the 19th century. Having taken the place of Slavophilism, the pochvennichestvo still showed a keen interest in antiquity, tradition, custom, the ease of folk way of life and folk arts as the manifestations of a certain "native soil" that was endangered during the modernization of the traditional culture. The concomitant ideological shift is analyzed in connection with the evolution of the views of Apollon Grigoriev who was one of the principal ideologists of the soil-bound tradition. Meanwhile, the study takes into account not only the inner tendencies of Russian culture under modernization, but also the various formats of its interaction with the societies of already established modernity as a factor of external influence. It is pointed out that the tendency to combine the elements of modernity and tradition is obvious in all forms of western Romanticism as well as in the relationships between Westernism and Slavophilism. Hereupon, the term "immediacy" that was prototyped by German philosophy together with the subsequent term "mediation", became topical in Russia just in the context of the native-soil trend. It took the same path as Western Romanticism and exactly in the same way searched after a special concept of the organic unity. It is shown that Grigoriev, having been one of the first theorists of native-soil trend, tried to justify the pattern of the unity of Westernism and Slavophilism in such a way that it, nevertheless, could admit the preservation of "immediacy". In the issue, he had found the pattern of such unity in F.W.J. Schelling's philosophy and indirectly confirmed the existence of the generalities of modernization that is influenced by the culture of already established modernity.

AbstractThe aim of this Article is to show that the enforcement of Article 2 of the Treaty on European Union ('TEU') values vis-à-vis Member States could benefit from the application of the EU Charter of Fundamental Rights ('CFR') also in instances where the current interpretation of Article 51(1) CFR prevents this. This would be the case if the CFR were also applicable to purely domestic cases, eg—but not only—with regard to fundamental rights-relevant violations related to the values enshrined in Article 2 TEU. In this case, the European Court of Justice, which has already partly taken this path recently, could prevent the violation of core EU values. The most important historical challenge to those values in Europe today is the systematic dismantling of the rule of law and democracy in certain Member States. It is the very purpose of fundamental rights to provide answers to such dangers. When one speaks of the rule of law and democracy, one necessarily also means fundamental rights. This Article thus advocates an EU which perceives itself as a complete fundamental rights union. While the traditional interpretation of Article 51(1) CFR had a balanced division of competence between the EU and its Member States in mind, the disregard of Article 2 TEU values triggers a clausula rebus sic stantibus: the neat federal balance can only be upheld if both ends stick to the original promise made. It demonstrates two ways of completing the European fundamental rights union: treaty revision, on the one hand, and reinterpretation of Article 51 CFR, on the other hand. Both ways have in common that only a complete fundamental rights union can establish a system of fundamental rights protection that is uniform and thus equality-preserving in cases where national fundamental rights fail to provide sufficient protection.

The main goal in this article is to explore the causes and nature of economic migration from the Republic of Moldova. The conceptual and analytical frame­work is based on the widening and deepening of meanings of security, as part of the transition from traditional, Cold War, state-centric understanding of security to the multisectorial approaches of security. Two relevant sectors of security are selected in this study, namely economic security and societal security, because they provide in-depth understanding of economic migration from Gagauzia and Transnistria. The methodology is based on interviews taken with migrant work­ers from the two regions and on interpretation and analysis of research findings. Before discussing the findings, we documented migration experiences of migrant workers who belong to different ethnic groups, tracing their pre-migration situ­ations and post-migration life. Also, we documented how their economic aspira­tions and ethnic identity shaped their migration intentions and perceptions of different countries of destination.

W poszukiwaniu bezpieczeństwa ekonomicznego i społecznego. Doświadczenia migrantów ekonomicznych z Naddniestrza i Gagauzji

Głównym celem niniejszego artykułu jest zbadanie przyczyn i charakteru migracji zarobkowej z Republiki Mołdawii. Ramy koncepcyjne i analityczne opierają się na poszerzaniu i pogłębianiu znaczenia terminu "bezpieczeństwo" w ramach przejścia od tradycyjnego, zimnowojennego, państwocentrycznego rozumienia do podejścia wielosektorowego. W pracy wybrano dwa istotne sektory bezpieczeństwa, a mianowicie bezpieczeństwo ekonomiczne i bezpieczeństwo społeczne, ponieważ zapewniają one dogłębne zrozumienie migracji ekonomicznej z Gagauzji i Naddniestrza. Metodologia opiera się na wywiadach przeprowadzonych z pracownikami migrującymi z obu regionów oraz na interpretacji i analizie wyników badań. Przed omówieniem wyników zostały udokumentowane doświadczenia migracyjne pracowników migrujących należących do różnych grup etnicznych, przyglądając się ich sytuacji przed i po migracji. Ponadto zbadano również, w jaki sposób aspiracje ekonomiczne i tożsamość etniczna migrantów kształtowały ich intencje migracyjne i postrzeganie różnych krajów docelowych.

The COVID-19 virus pandemic affected all spheres of human life, including the language in which new words, phrases and idioms appeared in response to the emerging situation. These new terms as a linguistic reflection of a pandemic are quickly becoming part of our daily vocabulary. Therefore, it is important to investigate which new words and expressions entered the active lexis of the Croatian language. Given that the media played a key role in informing the population about everyday events related to the pandemic, lexical innovations as a reflection of the corona virus on Croatian websites are analysed in this paper. The main source are website articles. This research analyses the words related to coronavirus pandemics from the word formation perspective. In other words, the aim is to determine the most frequent word formation patterns which are used while forming new words. The analysis focuses on word formation processes of neologisms related to the COVID-19 pandemic: prefixation, suffixation, compounding, blending, analogy formation, language borrowing and calques. The research results show that the most productive formation method is compounding with the component korona and the abbreviation COVID. Furthermore, analogy formation is frequently found, as well as numerous examples of language borrowing, especially in the form of literal calques. It is clear that the Croatian media discourse accepts and creates neologisms quickly, depending on communication needs, and thus impacts their application among the wider population and within public discourse in general. Although traditional formation methods such as affixation or compounding were confirmed, the research showed that the Croatian media discourse quickly accepts formation methods which are not typical for it. This reflects the speed of the impact which extralinguistic factors have in determining linguistic elements, resulting in the passivity of the Croatian linguistic system and its speakers when providing a suitable replacement.

Context The behaviours used by mammalian predators to track, kill, and consume prey are some of the most dynamic interspecific interactions in nature. However, they are often challenging to follow through the landscape and observe directly without disturbing the animals being watched. Aims We describe the behaviours used by wild dingoes while hunting macropods in Namadgi National Park, Australian Capital Territory, Australia. Methods Footage was initially captured by wildlife cinematographers on behalf of documentary programs and was made available for viewing after production. Hunting events were filmed from an altitude of >50 m by using a 'long lens' fitted to either a drone or helicopter. Results We recorded a suite of hunting behaviours that would have been extremely challenging to observe from the ground via traditional methods. This includes some of the first video records published in the scientific literature of the behaviours used by dingoes to hunt and kill macropod prey, as well as some rare observations of mother and pup hunting dynamics. We did not observe any signs of disturbance as a result of filming for either predator or prey. Conclusions The varied repertoire of predatory behaviours displayed by dingoes is similar to that documented in wolves and asserts them as a behaviourally complex top predator in the Australian landscape. In addition, we highlight the use of drones as a valuable approach for directly observing wild behaviours. They offer a minimally invasive and relatively inexpensive and accessible alternative to helicopters. This project is also a case study exemplifying the value of collaborations between filmmakers and researchers that enable the sharing of archival documentary footage for the study of wild animal behaviour. Implications Future studies of wild animal behaviour should consider employing drones (at a safe distance and in accordance with published best practices and guidelines) as an additional tool to collect types of data that would be challenging using other methods.

As relations between the European Union (EU) and Turkey have progressed, so has the body of literature on the relationship – to the extent that we can now identify 'EU–Turkey studies' as a boutique sub-discipline of EU studies. This article provides a systematic mapping of the evolution of EU–Turkey studies from 1996 to 2020 in order to explore the degree of epistemic diversity featured in the discipline as an indicator of epistemic (in)justice. Utilising the research synthesis technique, we analyse a novel dataset involving 300 articles published in 26 SSCI journals to scrutinise the extent of epistemic diversity in the discipline. Our mapping reveals two central features of EU–Turkey studies. First, the transformation of the discipline has largely been contingent on critical milestones in EU–Turkey relations. Lately, increasing conflictual dynamics in bilateral relations resulted in diminishing scholarly commitment to studying EU–Turkey relations. Second, epistemic diversity has remained fairly limited given the lack of geographic diversity in authorship, the accumulation of the publications in specific journals, and the segregated co-authorship clusters that limit the amalgamation of different ideas and values. At the same time, knowledge production in EU–Turkey studies has been mainly Eurocentric, due to the almost exclusive use of grand and up-and-coming theories/concepts of European integration, while the proliferation of issue areas since the launch of the discipline has not culminated in a strong focus on non-traditional, avant-garde research topics as such. To ensure epistemic justice in the discipline, EU–Turkey studies should place stronger emphasis on unconventional issue areas and on the explanatory power of mainstream and unorthodox (IR) theories that have the potential to explore the relationship within the context of the multilateral system in which EU–Turkey relations increasingly operate.

Decentralization processes are increasingly becoming the driving force of changes in the modern world, and how regional elites use their advantages and minimize their disadvantages depends on whether they will turn out to be a boon or a factor of social destruction. It is extremely important in modern conditions that the social and humanitarian sciences contribute to the conceptualization of system-dynamic interdisciplinary knowledge, the scope of which will cover not only the hierarchy of centers and peripheries within a single country, but also the space «above» state borders, which is amenable to regulation. The article is devoted to highlighting modern methodological approaches to reviewing the concepts of center-periphery relations and developing a new model of regionalism, which is based on the recognition of the freedom of pluralism and the intransitive importance of the ideas of multiculturalism. In this context, all cognitive strategies built on the advantages of the ideas of centralization, and first of all on the traditional model of center-periphery relations and modernization, undergo correction. It has been proven that the postmodern situation in which modern society is located is the least reminiscent of a domineering vertical, built according to the usual canons of center-periphery. Rather, it is associated with a heterogeneous horizon that can be modified in a wide variety of configurations. Reviewing the concepts, models and structure of established center-periphery relations contributes to rethinking the mechanisms and scope of influence of political, economic and cultural centers on the course of social development of spatial structures in the context of new challenges. Built on this foundation, the theory of center-periphery polarity is seen as an innovative operational tool in the entire system of natural and social sciences, which to one degree or another are engaged in the analysis of spatial relations

Abstract
Background There is a lack of attention to screw placement techniques for surgical treatment of scoliosis in children and adolescents. This meta-analysis aims to compare the accuracy and safety of pedicle screw placement between the 3D-printed navigation template technique and the freehand technique during corrective surgery for scoliosis in children and adolescents.
Methods A comprehensive search was conducted for relevant articles up to December 2021 in databases including PubMed, Embase, MEDLINE, Cochrane, and Web of Science. The systematic meta-analysis compared the efficacy of pedicle screw placement between the two techniques, including accuracy of pedicle screw placement, complication rate, operation time, blood loss, mean placement time per screw, and mean times for fluoroscopy.
Results The seven articles analyzed in this study involved 229 patients altogether. A total of 2,805 pedicle screws were placed by the two methods. Our results revealed that the 3D-printed guide template technique was more accurate than the freehand technique in pedicle screw placement (odds ratio [OR] =2.96; 95% confidence interval [CI]: 2.24–3.91; p < 0.000) with a lower complication rate (OR = 0.21; 95% CI: 0.06–0.78; p = 0.02). The operation time (mean difference [MD] = –34.37; 95% CI: –67.47 to –1.28; p = 0.04) and mean placement time per screw (MD = –3.11; 95% CI: –6.13 to –0.09; p = 0.04) and mean times for fluoroscopy (MD = –6.60; 95% CI: –8.66 to –4.55; p < 0.000) significantly decreased among patients in the 3D-printed navigation template group compared with those in the freehand technique group. In addition, the two techniques had no significant statistical difference in blood loss.
Conclusions Compared with the traditional freehand technique, the 3D-printed guide template is a promising technique with higher accuracy and safety in screw placement for surgical treatment of scoliosis in children and adolescents, and is worth popularizing and validating through more prospective clinical studies.

AbstractSome progressive U.S. Cities and several Canadian provinces now provide mechanisms for polyamorous families to register as such with state authorities. More than a million people in the United States identify as polyamorous and many more practice some form of ethical nonmonogamy. This article suggests that the growing recognition of polyamory poses a substantial threat to a simultaneous development in family law: the call by scholars and the Uniform Law Commission for courts to enforce a more implied contract, implied partnership and equitable claims in the context of non‐marital conjugal cohabitation. Non‐marital cohabitants argue that courts can infer marital‐type commitments to share property from the fact of conjugal cohabitation. They argue that their nonmarriage should entitle them to the kinds of relief afforded to divorcing couples. But polyamorous conjugal cohabitation involves very different norms and commitments to reliance, partnership and transparency than does traditional marriage. Marital‐type relief maps awkwardly, if at all, onto the reality of most polyamorous relationships. By bringing into relief that which we cannot necessarily assume about conjugal cohabitation, the recognition of polyamory questions what many proponents of more legal protection of nonmarital couples ask courts to assume about conjugal cohabitation, namely that it gives rise to reasonable reliance on a status quo and an intent to share property. Moreover, by providing a means for polyamorous households to register their relationships, polyamorous registration normalizes the idea of non‐marital relationship registration. The more normal and expected it is for people who want rights as some form of family to register their familial intent with the state, the harder it is for those who have not so registered to argue that the state must treat them as some sort of family.

AbstractUntil the nineteenth century, Kabyle literature was primarily oral, passed down through word of mouth and limited to various genres such as poetry, proverbs, riddles, tales, myths, and legends. The nineteenth century marked the beginning of the transition to writing in the Kabyle language through the transcription of oral literature. However, the true departure from orality occurred in the twentieth century with the emergence of an intellectual movement within the Kabyle community that started to write in Kabyle to develop it as a written language. These writers introduced new universal literary genres such as novels, short stories, and theater.The transition to writing in a language long confined to orality was not without its challenges. Writers often drew upon the rich oral expressions of the Kabyle language to overcome the difficulties of expressing new ideas, which became a hallmark of the writing of that era. Mohia Abdellah (1950-2004), faced the particular challenge of promoting his language by translating and adapting universal theater texts. Nevertheless, his translations and adaptations found great success by leveraging the Kabyle language's rich lexicon, especially its proverbs, which contributed to elevating the status of the Kabyle language as a written medium. This article examines some of these Kabyle proverbs reinvested by the dramatist Mohia Abdellah in his play titled "Menttif akka wala seddaw uẓekka" (literally, "better this than being in the grave"), an adaptation of the Russian playwright Nicolai Erdman's work "The Suicide." Through an intertextual approach, the article highlights the significance of proverbial expressions in Kabyle writing due to their exceptional ability to convey complex ideas from another world. To achieve this, the article initially defines the traditional functions of Kabyle proverbs and subsequently compares them with their counterparts in the source text to better appreciate Mohia's efforts in translating and adapting foreign texts.

PurposeThis paper sets out to investigate investors' sustainable preferences under different market conditions. Specifically, the authors examine the existence of a positive sustainable asset pricing gap, and whether it is influenced by the socioeconomic and financial sentiments. The increase of uncertainty rises investors' skepticism whether sustainable companies are under-performing the traditional counterparts, causing larger increasing gap. Conversely, if sustainable assets are overperforming, the increase of market uncertainty raises investors' sustainable preferences.Design/methodology/approachThe authors examine the existence of a positive sustainable asset pricing gap, and whether it is influenced by the socioeconomic and financial sentiments. Through a quantile regression, the authors remark the variability of sustainable preferences where market participants, although recognizing the present and future value added of sustainable investing, also show skepticism (i.e. asymmetric tail behavior). However, the analysis of the total change of sustainable investments returns over time demonstrates the emergence of positive viewpoints incentivized by economic and market uncertainty.FindingsThe market-driven social responsibility exalts the positive insights regarding the future of sustainable developments. As the authors discuss along the paper, investors are gaining awareness about the environmental and social goals pursued by socially responsible companies. Hence, the authors consider how economic instability might stimulate the assessment of the social and environmental impact of the unsustainable production systems, switching investments toward virtuous sustainable companies. This could generate a series of positive externalities that might improve the welfare conditions of the whole society.Originality/valueThe authors conduct an original empirical exercise, combining different techniques (i.e. quantile regressions and wavelet analysis). To the best of the authors' knowledge, this is the first paper trying to evidence a systematic connection between market uncertainty and sustainable preferences accounting for different market states (thanks to quantile regressions).

The article is devoted to the study of the originality of literary anthroponyms in the works of Boris Ukachin. This problem has been little studied and requires further research. The relevance of the research is determined by the need to interpret the artistic anthroponymicon in order to comprehend the deep meaning of the text. The anthroponymic vocabulary of Boris Ukachin's artistic works has a significant potential for understanding the ways of the individual author's organization of the artistic space and the system of subtext connections. Therefore, the study of the anthroponymy of the author's works makes it possible to expand and streamline information about the traditional and new in the writer's artistic heritage.
Literary anthroponyms serve as a means of designating characters, isolating and distinguishing them, concretizing and generalizing. The anthroponymic space of Boris Ukachin's works is extraordinarily rich, there are names in it that reflect the customs, traditions and worldview of the Altai people, which are formed by different ways of word formation. The name and her appearance largely determine the artistic thought of the author, it is closely related to the plot, portrait, landscape of
Boris Ukachin's works. Since people call an object by their personal names, they do not attribute any properties to it, however, in a literary text, thanks to anthroponyms, the writer hides a certain meaning that reflects the character of the hero. It is thanks to proper names that the reader becomes clear which character is in front of him. Anthroponymic semantics manifests itself especially vividly and profoundly in the title of the stories.
According to the author, anthroponyms are widely and variously represented in the work of B. Ukachin. Many of them are divided by lexical and semantic characteristics into descriptive names, wish names and names that give some information about a person's personality.

A believer in philosophical liberalism, he generally rejects the medieval way of thinking and the political system associated with it. His political views are a combination of political liberalism and social democracy, and he seeks to establish a democratic system. Emphasizes the liberty right and the rule of law. He believes in the rule of the elite, that is, the people of knowledge and thought of the agents of reform and progress. It preaches national sovereignty and the right of nations to determine their own destiny.

IntroductionResearch data combined with administrative data provides a robust resource capable of answering unique research questions. However, in cases where personal health data are encrypted, due to ethics requirements or institutional restrictions, traditional methods of deterministic and probabilistic record linkages are not feasible. Instead, privacy-preserving record linkages must be used to protect patients' personal data during data linkage.
ObjectivesTo determine the feasibility and validity of a deterministic privacy preserving data linkage protocol using homomorphically encrypted data.
MethodsFeasibility was measured by the number of records that successfully matched via direct identifiers. Validity was measured by the number of records that matched with multiple indirect identifiers. The threshold for feasibility and validity were both set at 95%. The datasets shared a single, direct identifier (health card number) and multiple indirect identifiers (sex and date of birth). Direct identifiers were encrypted in both datasets and then transferred to a third-party server capable of linking the encrypted identifiers without decrypting individual records. Once linked, the study team used indirect identifiers to verify the accuracy of the linkage in the final dataset.
ResultsWith a combination of manual and automated data transfer in a sample of 8,128 individuals, the privacy-preserving data linkage took 36 days to match to a population sample of over 3.2 million records. 99.9% of the records were successfully matched with direct identifiers, and 99.8% successfully matched with multiple indirect identifiers. We deemed the linkage both feasible and valid.
ConclusionsAs combining administrative and research data becomes increasingly common, it is imperative to understand options for linking data when direct linkage is not feasible. The current linkage process ensured the privacy and security of patient data and improved data quality. While the initial implementations required significant computational and human resources, increased automation keeps the requirements within feasible bounds.
