Today, talking about citizenship education means dealing with examples of multiculturalism and intercultural education. In this regard, the sense of belonging to a community through an effective contribution to its construction is very important. In the pluralist European Union therefore, promoting the civic sense of belonging to the social body is possible if we start from an awareness of being an active part of it. Through a targeted training project in schools, it is possible to identify the substantial resources and opportunities that derive from an awareness of being part of the same community body.

European Union recognizes the need of migrants for a dignified life, in which they can exercise the fundamental right to education and work. For this reason, among the pedagogical and didactic tools aimed at reconstructing professional biographies often fragmented and made untraceable by the devastation of wars and famines, the European Union recognizes and promotes, today, the portfolio of skills as a tool for recognizing qualifications. and professional qualifications. In this context, the University of Bari has fielded significant pilot experiences. In this case a research project will be presented, still in progress, in which University of Bari is involved together with the Universities of Akureyri (Iceland), Copenhagen (Denmark) and Patras (Greece). It is called "APELE - Accreditation of Experiential Learning Experiences". Through this Project we intend to answer important research questions including: How do the processes of continuous training change over the time of Mediterranean migrations? How does school and professional training change for migrants who arrive in Italy without the possibility of demonstrating their previous school and work training? How does citizenship education change in a logic of proximity to migrants, with their fundamental rights to education and health? How to train in intercultural dialogue and planetary citizenship in the European Union, involved by an epochal migration of peoples? ...

The paper proposes a reflection on the meaning of the construct "organizational well- being", starting from the definitions given by the psychologists of work, indicating the need to contextualize its framing within broader horizons of meaning that make it more widely intelligible social, political and economic determinations, avoiding the reduction and banalization of the phenomenology of subjective experiences of discomfort and malaise in the workplace. The text proposes two frames of reference for this contextualization that concern the role of the economy in its relationship with society (and politics), and their effects on the structure of subjectivity as it has unfolded in recent decades. Finally, some indications are proposed that the organizational actors can adopt to promote actions and relationships based on "taking care of oneself and others" as a key not to succumb to an adaptive-passive representation to generalized malaise; trying to understand the phenomena of the relationship with work in the context of the overall economic-financial dynamics in order to be aware of those spaces of "local" responsibility within which it is still possible to carry out gestures of care that, without changing the world, allow us to reduce unnecessary discomfort.

As part of the strategies to promote health in urban areas, the Italian Society of Hygiene (SItI) has updated its recommendations for "healthy, safe and sustainable housing". They were issued by an ad hoc SitI working group on the basis of the best available evidence retrieved from a review of the scientific and legal literature on the topic and in line with World Health Organisation, European Union, and other international bodies statements. SItI document includes recommendations for environmental comfort, mental and social wellbeing, environmental protection as well as the safety of people who dwell houses. In addition to typical issues (such as relative humidity parameters, ventilation, and safety rules), SItI recommendations address innovative aspects such as building compatibility between different functions, building safety management and green area design. In this context, SItI recommendations emphasise the need of a strengthened interaction between architects and public health experts to ensure the complete wellbeing in houses where people spend more than 50% of their lives.

; This research enters in the socio-economic studies with a territorial perspective, and it has the objective to develop a methodology capable of enriching the study phase of preliminary design and analysis of political and economic interventions aimed at improving the welfare population. The interest in such an argument stems from the fact that in recent times the word "welfare" has assumed a central role in the political and economic debate. The theoretical frame of reference is the stock and flows model (S&F), proposed by Mauro Bonaiuti, an adaptation of the funds and flows model with which Nicholas Georgescu-Roegen has interpreted the theory of production in a bio-economic key. The S&F model, using the theory of complex systems, describes in detail the characteristics of the funds, renamed stocks, and of the flows involved in the systems of production and consumption. The unique setting of an analysis based on the S&F is to assess how the structural features related to the environmental, social and economic sphere (stock) are able to transform physical entities, matter and energy (input flows), in welfare and waste (output streams). The model assumes that the flows of goods and services are not able to produce any well, but that is the set of stocks and flows, and especially their interaction, that gives rise to the enjoyment of life and wellbeing of the individual community. The intent of this work, following the specific approach of local economy, is to conduct an initial review of the stocks and flows model in order to verify how the economic, environmental, social and value characteristics of a territorial system are able to contribute to the generation of wealth for the local community. From this approach arises the strongly multi-disciplinary feature of the analysis that, in addition to brand itself as an economic-policy research, makes use of contributions from disciplines such as sociology and psychology. The research proposes a methodology able to identify tools and procedures adapted to detect different levels of eudaimonia produced by a local economic system and then put them in connection with the allocations of the different structures of production and consumption (stock). The proposed methodology has been tested and validated with an empirical application that, for cognitive and interpretive reasons, has been carried out in the local employment systems of the province of Viterbo. The results of the empirical analysis has confirmed the validity of the theoretical model, the correctness of the methodology and at the same time offered a number of new ideas for further research on the future design of economic policy measures designed to improve long-term welfare in local communities.

The gender gap that traverses the planet is one of the most blatant democratic failures, and it is no longer an additional or accessory issue but one that is crucial to the wellbeing of both men and women. The strategies of intervention mapped out in international programmes (gender mainstreaming and empowerment) underscore the commitment and the responsibilities of educational processes. The aim of the book is to stimulate reflection on the role of education in the establishment of gender identities and in fostering the human rights of women in contemporary society. With a view to an interdisciplinary feminist and feminine analysis, which is essential to the development and interweaving of gender issues and points of educational interest, the question is posed as to whether a new sensitivity and a more widespread gender culture could successfully trigger daily practices of gender-oriented education.

Smart Working (SW) is a new form of work based on the use of digital devices allowing people to work anywhere and anytime, which has developed in the last decades, but only recently has become the object of studies, discussions, and attention of several organizations, companies and governments. SW rises from the digitalization of the work and the spread of mobile technologies, but is more than flexible working or teleworking. It reorganizes completely the world of work and shapes the private life of the workers. The present study is aimed at giving a theoretical background, and through an empirical analysis, studying the possible implications of the use of ICTs and the degree of mobility of the workers on their working conditions and wellbeing conditions. Despite the increasing interest in this topic, there are only few empirical studies that address the above issue. Therefore, this study tries to contribute to fill this gap through an analysis of secondary data from the 6th European Working Conditions Survey (EWCS, EC 2015), on a sample of more than 43.000 European workers. The first part of this work is a review of the literature on the digitalization of the work, its impact and consequences on the world of work and on the new forms of work. Then, SW is described and the analysis covers the traits, the advantages and the drawbacks for the smart workers, the roots and the levers of this new form of work, the fields of adoption, and finally an eye to the future. In the second part of this study, the research hypotheses are tested through the analysis of data from the 6th EWCS. In particular, the sample is divided in five groups of workers based on the intensity of the use of ICT and on their degree of mobility. For each group descriptive statistics are computed in order to describe them. Then, on the whole sample, measures of association are produced to find relationships between ICT use intensity and degree of mobility, and between these and working conditions and wellbeing conditions. Finally, regression analyses are computed in order to find some predictors able to explain the consequences of the adoption of SW. In the final part of the study, the implications of the main findings are discussed.

Health and education are fundamental aspects of human and social development, which we will analyze through the lens of the Socio-phenomenological approach applied in both health promotion and education. Health is constitutively related to education, and it cannot be intended just as a psychobiological condition. Self-determination of our own health requires assuming responsibility and active citizenship. The right of deciding about our own health cannot be automatically accomplished through an «innate» capacity, but it requires education, metaphorically intended as a flywheel that initially allows the individual to acquire awareness of his/her health needs/desires and, later, to assume a political position in the community, in order to make those needs/desires acknowledged. How can we avoid to reduce health promotion activities in schools and community to tandardized practices, which do not consider the embodied needs/desires of the individuals? The Socio-phenomenological approach calls to the «human» component of preventive activities, connecting the individuals' need for wellbeing with the common good.

Nowadays inequality still increases inside countries and it is possible to observe the phenomenon in cities. There are some areas in the towns where services and wellbeing of the population are very different. Usually areas with lack of services, building degradation and zones where the population have critical socio-economic conditions are considered peripheral. This analysis tries to explore an urban marginalized area in Pisa called Sant'Ermete, exploring factors that allow the birth of a peripheral area, how they change in times and which were the institutional strategies to face the problem and try to relieve the social suffereces of people. In particular that area was targeted by the local administration in 2008 for a project of urban regeneration, a project not finished yet. During my analysis, using participant observation, I have explored the everyday life of people that live in the social housing neighborhood, the solidarity born in the neighborhood and all the relationships that have contributed to increase the social community's welfare. I have also analyzed the relationships between institutions and Sant'Ermete people, tring to understand if the local administration is able to grasp and support the active citizens present in the area, including them to create and implement political strategies that could effectively provide benefits for the zone.

; This paper illustrates how the empowerment of the Social and Solidarity Economy in the EU-MENA region might be of the utmost importance to: narrow, when existing, the political gap among public institutions and the civil society; raise the wellbeing of those most affected by the negative impacts of climate change; manage the negative and unpredictable impacts of globalization. This hypothesis has a multilevel nature, and the main geopolitical implications are discussed with respect to the Italian position within the Euro-Mediterranean region, the EU external policy and the evolution of the global scenario fostered by the UN 2030 Agenda.

In the coastal area of Benin, the vodu is a widespread religious practice. In the last years, a vodu cult, called tron kpeto deka, has achieved an outstanding success. Its leaders and adepts define it a "modern" vodu, because it appears suitable to cope with the contemporary society dynamics: it is clean, tidy, its rituality is more simple, speedy and efficient. This vodu elaborates its own discourse of modernity that, in the local sense, speaks of desire of social progress and of confidence in a future of success and wellbeing. The history of tron kpeto deka started in Gold Coast, during the period of the anti witchcraft cults' widespread. During its geographical and historical path, that brought it from the Northern savannah region to the coastal area, the cult embedded signs, practices, symbols and objects evoking the universal religions and a vague and unpredictable idea of North. The post colonial Benin and the ambivalent relationship between politics and vodu, that was developed in that period, contributed to build a favourable ground for the tron kpeto deka. Its modernity and alien origins cope with the demands for a renewal of local religions: people who are no more comfortable with "archaic" vodu practices, who are more involved with contemporary dynamics and look at the universal religions as means to "enter the world", seem to find in the tron kpeto deka a suitable religious alternative. ; In the coastal area of Benin, the vodu is a widespread religious practice.
