Over the last years, kollektiv orangotango has gathered more than 40 counter-cartographies from all over the world. As the first of its kind, this collection shows how maps are created and transformed as part of political struggles, for critical research, or in art and education: from indigenous struggles in the Amazon to the anti-eviction movement in San Francisco, from defending commons in Mexico to mapping refugee camps with balloons in Lebanon, from slums in Nairobi to squats in Berlin, from supporting communities in the Philippines to accusing sexual harassment in Cairo. This Is Not an Atlas seeks to inspire, to document the underrepresented, and to be a useful companion for those seeking to become counter-cartographers themselves.

Is time gendered? This international, interdisciplinary anthology studies the early modern era to analyze how material objects express, shape, complicate, and extend human concepts of time and how people commemorate time differently. It examines conceptual aspects of time, such as the categories women and men use to define it, and the somatic, lived experiences of time ranging between an instant and the course of family life. Drawing on a wide array of textual and material primary sources, this book assesses the ways that gender and other categories of difference affect understandings of time.

How and why do people become involved in European homegrown jihadism? This book addresses this question through an in-depth study of the Dutch Hofstadgroup, infamous for causing the murderer of filmmaker Theo van Gogh in 2004 and for plotting numerous other terrorist attacks. The Hofstadgroup offers a window into the broader phenomenon of homegrown jihadism that arose in Europe in 2004 and is still with us today. Utilizing interviews with former Hofstadgroup participants and the extensive police files on the group, this book overcomes the scarcity of high-quality data that has beset the study of terrorism for decades. The book advances a multicausal and multilevel understanding of involvement in European homegrown jihadism. It stresses that the factors that initiate involvement are separate from those that sustain it, which in turn are again likely to differ from those that bring some individuals to actual acts of terrorism.

Der Rückbau der Demokratie und des Säkularismus in der Türkei betrifft unmittelbar auch das Verhältnis zwischen Frauen und Männern. Der Band beleuchtet erstmals die Politik und Geschlechterverhältnisse unter der AKP sowie die aktuellen Positionen und Ziele der vielfältigen feministischen Bewegungen seit den 2000er Jahren bis heute. Gegenstand des Berichts ist die Erstellung von Stoffberichten für die Ableitung von EU-LCI-Werten für die im Titel genannten Stoffe. EU-LCI-Werte sind gesundheitsbasierte Referenzkonzentrationen für die inhalative Exposition der Allgemeinbevölkerung. Zur Ableitung wurden die toxikologischen Basisdaten für diese Stoffe recherchiert, zusammengestellt und bewertet und auf Basis der Vorgaben des ECA-Berichts Nr. 29 (EC, 2013) EU-LCI-Werte abgeleitet. Bereits bestehende Bewertungen und Richtwerte für diese Stoffe wurden gemäß den Vorgaben des ECA-Berichts in "data collection sheets" und die für die Ableitung der EU-LCI-Werte wesentlichen Daten in "fact sheets" zusammengestellt. Bei den im Rahmen dieses Vorhabens abgeleiteten LCI-Werten handelt es sich um Vorschläge. Die endgültigen EU-LCI Werte werden von der EU-LCI Arbeitsgruppe, einer Expertengruppe mit Fachleuten aus zehn europäischen Ländern, festgelegt. Diese Arbeitsgruppe erarbeitet aus den verschiedenen Bewertungsstofflisten von Emissionen aus Bauprodukten eine harmonisierte europäische Liste mit Stoffen und den dazugehörigen Emissionsgrenzen (EU-LCI Werte). Die Vorgehensweise der EU-LCI-Arbeitsgruppe bei der Ableitung dieser europäischen Referenzwerten für Bauproduktemissionen in die Innenraumluft ist mit allen Stakeholdern abgestimmt und im ECA-Bericht Nr. 29 publiziert (EC, 2013). Über den aktuellen Fortschritt bei der Ableitung der EU-LCI-Werte können sich alle Interessierten auf der Website "The EU-LCI Working Group" informieren (https://ec.europa.eu/growth/sectors/construction/eu-lci/values_en). Das Umweltbundesamt hat in den letzten Jahren darauf hin gearbeitet, dass die Europäische Kommission diese Harmonisierungsinitiative weiter voran bringt. Im November 2015 hat die Europäische Kommission das Mandat zur Fertigstellung der EU-LCI Liste an die EU-LCI-Arbeitsgruppe erteilt. Eine vollständig harmonisierte EU-LCI Liste soll bis Ende 2019 erarbeitet und veröffentlicht werden. Die im Rahmen dieses Forschungsvorhabens ausgearbeiteten Stoffdossiers unterstützen und beschleunigen diesen Prozess.

Der LPK-SGB VII wird federführend von den prägenden Akteuren des Unfallversicherungsrechts aus Lehre, Verwaltungspraxis und Ministerien verantwortet. In the past, foreign shocks arrived to national economies mainly through trade channels, and transmissions of such shocks took time to come into effect. However, after capital globalization, shocks spread to markets almost immediately. Despite the increasing macroeconomic dangers that the situation generated at emerging markets in the South, nobody at the North was ready to acknowledge the pro-cyclicality of the financial system and the inner weakness of "decontrolled" financial innovations because they were enjoying from the "great moderation." Monetary policy was primarily centered on price stability objectives, without considering the mounting credit and asset price booms being generated by market liquidity and the problems generated by this glut. Mainstream economists, in turn, were not majorly attracted in integrating financial factors in their models. External pressures on emerging market economies (EMEs) were not eliminated after 2008, but even increased as international capital flows augmented in relevance thereafter. Initially economic authorities accurately responded to the challenge, but unconventional monetary policies in the US began to create important spillovers in EMEs. Furthermore, in contrast to a previous surge in liquidity, funds were now transmitted to EMEs throughout the bond market. The perspective of an increase in US interest rates by the FED is generating a reversal of expectations and a sudden flight to quality. Emerging countries' currencies began to experience higher volatility levels, and depreciation movements against a newly strong US dollar are also increasingly observed. Consequently, there are increasing doubts that the "unexpected" favorable outcome observed in most EMEs at the aftermath of the Global Financial Crisis (GFC) would remain

Through fifteen essays that work from a rich array of primary sources, this collection makes the novel claim that early modern European women, like men, had a youth. European culture recognised that, between childhood and full adulthood, early modern women experienced distinctive physiological, social, and psychological transformations. Drawing on two mutually shaped layers of inquiry - cultural constructions of youth and lived experiences - these essays exploit a wide variety of sources, including literary and autobiographical works, conduct literature, judicial and asylum records, drawings, and material culture. The geographical and temporal ranges traverse England, Ireland, Italy, France, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Spain, and Mexico from the sixteenth to the eighteenth century. This volume brings fresh attention to representations of female youth, their own life writings, young women's training for adulthood, courtship, and the emergent sexual lives of young unmarried women.
