Carole Campbell examines the position of women in the AIDS epidemic (women living with HIV, and the growing number of women caring for HIV-infected family members) in a sociocultural context. The early male profile of the AIDS epidemic has given rise to education and prevention programs based upon the needs of males. Campbell draws a clear connection between women's risk of AIDS, gender roles (particularly adolescent gender role socialization), and male sexual behavior, demonstrating that no efforts to contain the spread of the disease to females can succeed without also targeting the male behavior that puts women at risk. This study concludes that compared with men, HIV-infected women face unequal access to care and unequal quality of care. Campbell makes a compelling case that social institutions such as health care and the media have created barriers for women by failing to take into account the differences between men and women in terms of social roles, status, and power. Informed by the moving personal accounts of eleven HIV-infected men and women, this book offers a rare, broad picture of the sociocultural causes and the impact on American society of AIDS among women

To discover the essential differences in cultural and linguistic patterns of a certain society, we need to look no further than to the most common relations of all – those between family members. When studying, working and living in, or for instance marrying into another culture, we must not only learn, but also acquire and utilise a whole new set of relationships and terms in order to be able to function and communicate. Without this knowledge we will quickly encounter a multitude of social difficulties in the other environment. On a deeper level, if we follow the assumption that a language is the mirror of its culture, and that language also influences culture, the linguistic terms designating family relations present a number of interesting phenomena, such as: which relations occupy the centre of importance in the society; the concept and understanding of a core family; which family relations are considered "worth" having a term for, and thus meaningful to keep up; the relations after a crisis, for instance a divorce; and several more, including the transfer of family relations to friendship and business contacts.
This qualitative pilot study discusses some important aspects of family relations from the perspectives of Swedish-language (Sweden and Swedish-speakers in Finland) family terminology, in comparison with Serbian and Bulgarian. The study also includes a Serbian-language survey about kinship terms, and it raises questions about further research into cultural and social patterns and connotations reflected in kinship terminology. Social and cultural differences specifically between the Serbian and Swedish spheres are highlighted; the Bulgarian and Swedish-speaking terminologies in Finland are used here mainly as references and for comparative purposes. The study combines different scientific fields in mapping out some aspects of cognitive, social and cultural patterns. It emphasises the importance and necessity of multilingual and multicultural learning instead of foreign language and culture learning, and shows some of the pitfalls and possibilities students of languages and cultures encounter when learning new kinship concepts and terms.

The purpose of the article is to reveal the peculiarities of teaching acting skills in children's theatre groups and to determine promising directions for improving the methodology at the current stage, to consider the specifics of the system of artistic and aesthetic education and artistic and creative activities of theatre groups for children. The research methodology consists in the application of a typological method aimed to identify and define the features of acting skills in the context of teaching in amateur theatre groups for children; a comparative method to conduct a comparative analysis of approaches to teaching acting skills in theatre groups; evolutionary method for considering the dynamics of the development of the methodology of teaching acting skills in theatre groups for children in the context of the peculiarities of socio-cultural space of the second half of the 20th - the beginning of the 21st century; method of systematic analysis and synthesis, due to which the teaching of acting skills in children's theatre groups was considered as part of modern theatre pedagogy. The novelty of the research is in the conducted comprehensive study of the peculiarities of teaching acting skills in children's theatre groups at the current stage. Conclusions. Theatre art, like other forms of art, is a form of social consciousness. Historically, its development is inseparable from the development of society, from culture in general. Currently, there are a large number of theatre communities in Ukraine. These groups are engaged in the artistic and aesthetic education of the younger generation outside the secondary school, such theatre groups are organised in the Houses of children's and youth creativity, youth theatres, Houses of culture, theatre and folklore groups. In Ukraine, modern theatre pedagogy and creative practice are based on stage theory, methods, and artistic techniques developed by leading foreign and domestic theatre actors of the 20th century.

In the Russian Federation, family and children are recognized as the highest value of the state and are under its protection. Children are the most important priority of the state policy of the Russian Federation. Demographic problems, including problems of childhood and family, are under the close attention of the President of the Russian Federation. Building a long-term policy of family support, the President of the Russian Federation proceeds from the fact that it is necessary to take into account specific life situations and the difficulties faced by an incomplete family. Children left without parental care have the right to count on state support and financial assistance. Giving priority to family education, if necessary, the State assumes the responsibilities of parents in relation to children left without care. In necessary cases, each State guarantees social security for the upbringing of children, for example, if one of the parents evades his duties for the upbringing and maintenance of his child, does not fulfill his alimony obligations and in other cases established by law. The legislation establishes the legal regime of alimony obligations, as well as legal guarantees of their fulfillment. At the same time, the issues of legislative implementation of the construction of the alimony obligation have not yet lost their relevance, since it has not yet been possible to remove the severity of the problem of avoiding payment of alimony for the maintenance of minor children. The article deals with the problem of the expediency of creating an alimony fund in the Russian Federation. Based on the analysis of similar experience in solving this problem in foreign countries, the law enforcement practice that previously existed in the USSR, the authors present arguments in favor of the State Alimony Fund. In conclusion, the conclusions and suggestions relevant to the study are given.

The purpose is a scientific substantiation of theoretical and methodological provisions and the development of practical recommendations for the formation of a comprehensive system of economic safety of motor transport enterprises. Methods of research. In the work the systematic approach, within the framework of which methods are used: induction and deduction, comparison and systematization – in the study of essential characteristics and evolution of the basic concepts of research; analysis and synthesis – to characterize the current trends in the development of motor transport enterprises; modeling theory – to substantiate the sequence of formation of the system of economic safety of motor transport enterprises. Results of the work. In the article the theoretical and methodological, scientific and applied provisions of the formation of a comprehensive system of economic safety of motor transport enterprises has been substantiated that based on both the specifics of economic activity and the conditions for ensuring economic security at Ukrainian enterprises. Application of results. solution the problems of providing safe conditions for the development of motor transport enterprises; the formation of a methodological basis for the training of higher education graduates in the field of knowledge management and administration. This article uses the case of Twitter activity under the #WikiLeaks hashtag to address issues of social movements online. The aim is to analyze the potential of elusive web spaces as sites of mobilization. Looking at linguistic and social aspects, our main questions were: What are the characteristics of the communication in terms of common discursive codes versus fragmentation? In what respects can social order be distinguished, and to what extent are connections between users simply random? Are there any prominent patterns as regards the commitment of participators over time? With the help of tools from semantic, social network and discourse analysis, we were able to show that common codes, networks of connections and mobilization do exist in this context. These patterns can be seen as part of the elaboration of a 'cognitive praxis'. In order to organize and mobilize, any movement needs to speak a common language, agree on the definition of the situation and formulate a shared vision. Even though it is global and loosely-knit, Twitter discourse is a space where such processes of meaning-production take place.

Considers the different motives of ethical investors and the potentially blurred boundary between what constitutes a social enterprise and what constitutes a private enterprise. Reports on how the Community Interest Companies (CICs), which provides the legal format for social enterprises, has adapted its regulations to pave the way for new forms of equity finance for social enterprises.FindingsIt is possible to adapt the rights of ownership identified by Jeff Gates (1998) to provide the basis for equity finance for social enterprises through its attention to liquidation rights, income rights, appreciation rights, voting rights, and transfer rights.Originality/valueClarifies some of the aspects involved in equity finance to reveal the potential of this type of finance for social enterprises.

The article presents the genesis of the process of formation of multi-partyism in Russia in relation to the changes at the institutional-decisional-legal level that were carried out in the last years of the USSR under Mikhail Gorbachev's perestroika policy. Firstly, proceedings of an institutional-normative nature initiated by the then authorities are discussed, namely the reorganisation of the organs of state power: first and foremost, the holding of elections of deputies to the Congress of People's Deputies of the USSR. This was to be a genuinely competitively elected body, which it was decided to resurrect in line with an appeal to the origins of communism - an overturning of the model of power based on the functioning of councils with its superstructure the Congress, which constituted the main decision-making body in the state. Secondly, the transformations at the decision-making level, concerning the sphere of elite alternation in the process of transformational change, were analysed. Thirdly, the legal changes that effectively changed the basis of the Soviet system and initiated the emergence of a new order are shown. The totality of these proceedings initiated by the authorities at the time were, according to the logic assumed by those in power, actually intended to strengthen the position of the Communist Party and its apparatus as a force supporting perestroika. In reality, these actions laid the groundwork for future systemic, social and worldview changes and paved the way for multipartyism in an already different (new) political, legal and state environment (Russian Federation).
