Based on the film "Dead Poets Society" (1989), the article points out the chaos created within the traditional North American school Welton through the work of Professor John Keating in the establishment of new teaching and learning methods for literature, as it tends to to encourage the questioning about the meaning and value of life and the cultivation of oneself as a possibility of producing a new and extemporaneous content and knowledge as an affirmation of the forces of life. Thus, based on Friedrich Nietzsche's (1844-1900) critique of "historical culture" as a product of the contradiction involving life and culture, the article emphasizes that the knowledge that has roots in "historical culture" is characterized as an unproductive capital, signaling the inexistence of rights of Philosophy between historical culture and the formative-educational process and the need for a correlation between art and philosophy before science and truth. Therefore, opposing the transformation of philosophy into erudition in the name of "historical culture" and the "philosophers" who place themselves at its service, Nietzsche denounces the reduction of being, life and vision to the framework of concepts, opinions, pasts, books in a critical analysis that focuses on the question involving philosophy professors between life and the science of universal becoming: philosophers or servers of "history"?

The existence of Inclusive Education in Indonesia is still very foreign to the general public. Thus with Inclusive Education in Serang City is still in a state of minimal attention from the City Government Attack Serang City Office of Education and Culture. The achievement of the objectives of the Banten Governor Regulation no. 74 of 2014 to realize education that values diversity and non-discrimination for all learners well in Serang City, the unavailability of special facilities and infrastructure in inclusive schools in Serang City, and the shortage of Special Supervisor Teachers In inclusive schools in Serang City is the concern why This study was conducted. This research is aimed to know and analyze how the implementation of Guidance of Implementation of Inclusive Education to be done by Education and Culture Office of Serang City. The theory used is the theory of Public Policy Implementation George Edward III in Agustino (2006: 149). This research uses qualitative approach with descriptive method. Data analysis technique used is Miles & Huberman model. The result of this research shows that the implementation done by the Education and Culture Office of Serang City in implementing the Inclusive Education has not been implemented optimally. Due to the proper Implementation to be implemented, it is necessary to do in Bureaucracy structure which will then have an effect on the clear communication between the implementer and the Responsible Resource needed in the implementation of the policy and the disposition of equal distribution of responsibility.

The Cetho people who live on the slopes of Mount Lawu Karanganyar, have images and cultural narratives. Historical social reality is represented through temple artifacts, house architecture, community service activities, social gathering, etc. This article is a description of the imagination and cultural narratives of the people in the form of oral and written. The results of the culture are packaged in the form of historiography. This article uses qualitative research methods with a cultural history approach. Research, observation and assistance have been carried out since 2011 to 2017. Literacy culture has not been implemented based on standard needs. Therefore, historiographic production is still minimal. The Cetho temple community creates more oral culture. The cultural literacy movement launched by the Ministry of Education and Culture in 2017 has not been fully appreciated. Academics hold a "Live in" program to improve literacy culture. Students write historiography during the "Live in" program in the Cetho temple area. Collaboration and synergy between the community, schools, local government officials, and academics is useful to open opportunities for local cultural literacy education in the national interest.

This article describes experiences formed in connection with a case study in Sámi schools. The Sámi people live in the northern part of the North Calotte region and among the world's Indigenous peoples. The development of culture-based education aims to diminish the dominance of the national curricula. The aim of this article is to understand factors that influence teachers' views and how teachers experience culture-based education in terms of a decolonizing process. The case study was conducted in a Critical Utopian Action Research framework with future workshops. The future workshops began as collaborative self-criticism and dreaming of education and then moved to the implementation of Indigenous culture-based teaching activities in local teaching practices. The teachers expressed that they felt trapped between demands made by the national curricula and their desire to implement culture-based teaching, but they nevertheless had many ideas for themes via which culture could be linked to teaching. Through knowledge exchange between the participants in the case study, the teachers 'rediscovered' knowledge and reinterpreted that knowledge in a teaching setting. The teachers' autonomy was strengthened and the teachers' active efforts empowered them.

"There is a debate among social scientists regarding the existence of a peer externality commonly referred to as 'acting white.' Using a newly available data set (the National Longitudinal Study of Adolescent Health), which allows one to construct an objective measure of a student's popularity, we demonstrate that there are large racial differences in the relationship between popularity and academic achievement; our (albeit narrow) definition of 'acting white.' The effect is intensified among high achievers and in schools with more interracial contact, but non-existent among students in predominantly black schools or private schools. The patterns in the data appear most consistent with a two-audience signaling model in which investments in education are thought to be indicative of an individual's opportunity costs of peer group loyalty. In this article, the competences of training future music teachers for professional–pedagogical activities, the main content and didactic principles of teaching, in undergraduate students, who are being trained in the educational direction of "Music Education" in higher educational institutions of the pedagogical field of the Republic theoretical and professional–methodical foundations of improving professional–methodical training, effective forms, tools and methods of preparing them for professional–methodical activities in the auditorium and outside the auditorium, as well as organization of "Music culture" lessons of general secondary schools and the methods and methods of conducting are included. Professors and teachers, undergraduate students, students conducting research in the field of music education and training in the field of music education at the bachelor's level of higher education institutions of our republic operating in the field of pedagogy school and pre–school educational institutions are intended for music teachers and other employees in the field of music pedagogy.

The introduction of multicultural education based on local cultural values and school-level character building in early childhood education is essential so that children can recognize the diversity around them, be it ethnic, ethnic, religious, race, or culture. This field research of early childhood education teachers in Lampung, Indonesia, sought to determine the learning strategies teachers used in implementing multicultural education based on local cultural values and character-building at the level of early childhood education. The study found that teachers in early childhood education used contribution, enrichment, transformation, and problem-based learning strategies. While these four strategies can develop conducive learning conditions that consider students' uniqueness, a teacher needs a clear vision and goals to facilitate multicultural education. Early childhood education must provide knowledge and help develop attitudes and behaviors for all students and school members to foster and implement educational interactions based on multiethnic and multicultural values in the school environment.

In Sweden, immigrant students with a non-European background perform worse in school than students from the majority group. Research has so far focused on language problems, and political investments have been concentrated around developing immigrant student's language because it is hard to manage school without a functional language. However, social science in school also rests on cultural understanding, which is difficult if you are not a part of the culture. This is certainly true for the subject of history, which has a strong tradition of fostering a historical nationalistic canon. By analyzing the items in the national test in history relative to how the immigrant students perform, this study investigates whether there are certain types of items that, on the one hand, discriminate against them and, on the other hand, work to their advantage. This is important knowledge if we want to be able to make fair and just assessments.

Religious values are identified as factors of local effectiveness in Pasaman. The preservation of the "Adat Basandi Syara, Syara Basandi Kitabullah" becomes the benchmark for the regional government in Sumatera Barat in issuing a regulation on Muslim uniform. Likewise, with the Pasaman Regional Regulation, this is stated in PP NO. 22 in 2003 which requires Muslim primary and secondary school students, college students and employees in Pasaman to wear muslimah uniform. The phenomenon of migration of non-Muslim population, especially in Pasaman which borders directly with North Sumatra, is a condition where non-Mulim people are encouraged by schools to wear Muslim uniform at all schools in Pasaman. Psychologically, for non-Muslim students who were born and raised in Pasaman this is not something that has a negative effect. For them this is the local culture. But for new or migrant students who are new to the local knowledge, psychologically, it has negatives effect on students.

Fostering cohesion and acceptance amidst a plurality of cultures and values is a clear context for quality education and also for PVE. This article proposes that deliberative democratic decision making (DDD) can result in agreements on (quasi-universal) values that accommodate both the claims of universal values – including human rights – and cultural pluralism and particularism. The article suggests that any agreed upon values framework itself becomes generative of curriculum and teaching and learning processes that will foster quality education, with conditions that also contribute to the prevention of violent extremism. An explicit treatment of values across the whole school as a subject of inquiry and agreement by all members of the school community can contribute to a healthy school environment and praxis for learners that serve the aims of PVE. Following an exploration of these arguments, the article presents concrete strategies for critical values clarification within the schooling system that recognize how universality and pluralism co-exist.

Focusing on a cohort of high school students from a Midwest metropolitan region, this study combines multiple sources of data and uses a multinomial logistic regression to model student postsecondary choices with respect to whether and where to attend college. Specifically, we examined the enrollment patterns by proximity to the home region and factors associated with these college decisions. The results suggest that these students' college choices were a process influenced by both precollege individual characteristics and social contexts. The findings also supported our hypothesis that acquisition of various types of capital and academic success of the school district (as one of several indicators of a college-going culture) were negatively related to student preferences for college proximity. These findings highlight the interplay between individual, family, community, and school at different levels as it influences college decisions of students from the deindustrialized Midwest region and regions alike.

Modern academia is a concomitant venture involving research, teaching, and service. This article outlines a reimagined service‐learning project that provides research and teaching experience to undergraduate and graduate anthropology students. We teach graduate students to teach undergraduates to teach anthropology to elementary school children. We outline benefits of teaching anthropology to children who are considerably younger than the traditional undergraduate student—benefits to the children and to the undergraduate and graduate instructors. We examine student outcomes at the primary and university level and demonstrate how teaching can help university students more deeply integrate research experiences. While not without impediments, we propose this approach as an educational partnership model that can be adapted to suit any elementary school. Teaching anthropological research in elementary schools exposes a more diverse demographic of students to concepts including evolution, race as a cultural construct, and the impact of culture on humans. This paper gives the analysis of educational programs and resources for
teachers in art museums and galleries in the world and in Serbia. Nowadays,
in attempt to follow contemporary tendencies in art education, a significant
attention is payed to development of educational programs in art museums and
galleries. There is also a strong pursuit to build connections between these
cultural institutions and teachers. The goal of this paper is to present
selected examples of practices in museums and galleries, programs and
resources for teachers, based on preschool and primary school approaches and
strategies of teaching using works of art. Research on different aspects of
collaboration between kindergartens and schools with institutions of culture
is also presented in this paper. Research results indicate that there is no
satisfactory collaboration among these institutions in our environment.
Schools and kindergartens should support teachers by providing
developmentally encouraging environment for maintaining collaboration, so
children should get a chance to study works of art more frequently.

This article surveys doctoral dissertations in language education written in Sweden over the ten years from 2000 to 2009. The survey concentrates on foreign languages. 23 dissertations are studied, 12 dealing with English, five with French, two with German, one with Spanish, one with Italian, and two with no specific language. Eighteen of the dissertations principally deal with years seven to nine of primary/lower-secondary school and with upper-secondary school, two deal with language studies at university level, and one deals with upper-secondary school and university. The article ends with a short follow-up on the researchers surveyed and the research they have conducted since writing their dissertations.
The contents of the dissertations allow six overall research themes to be discerned: The concept of culture, Assessment of students' oral and written proficiencies, Error analysis and transfer, English outside the English classroom, The professional practice of teachers and Language acquisition.

The paper stresses how important it is to adapt subject content in formal school (primary school, primarily) to meet the needs of social and cultural development. Effective primary school teaching contributes to cultural development by spreading and accepting a cultural model and by strengthening the national and cultural identity. Following the logic of new political reality and new landmarks of social development, the Serbian society is trying to find the answers to the following questions: first, how to use tradition in transition process and change the quality of relationship to tradition; second, how to bridge the gap between national culture, on the one hand, and universal cultural patterns, on the other? Religious education can greatly contribute to strengthening the national and cultural identity, owing to particular values it carries. The paper stresses the possibility of creating identity (national and cultural) in the conditions characterized by the crisis of identity in the globalzing society.
