Many buildings fail to perform adequately, causing illness and productivity loss among the inhabitants. The growing impact of this problem on people and property values - and the increasing litigation to which it gives rise - clearly reveals the limitations in and piecemeal character of the current education of building and health professionals in addressing the relationship between a building and its occupants. Education and Training in Indoor Air Sciences introduces examples of existing educational programs that seek to bridge the gap between health and building sciences. The contributors - selected among architects, engineers, clinicians, physicists, psychologists and policymakers - discuss the design of a core curriculum for all those holding a degree within building design, construction, operation and maintenance, investigation, and all occupational / environmental health and general practitioners. The book also examines the obstacles to such a curriculum and ways to overcome them

AbstractThe purpose of the study is to assess the level of corporate environmental disclosures in the corporate annual reports of mining and manufacturing companies in Ghana and their environmental performance. It further assesses the effect of environmental performance on environmental disclosures.A content analysis of the corporate annual reports of 25 companies over a 4‐year period for their environmental disclosures was undertaken using a disclosure index developed in line with Wiseman's (1982) environmental disclosure index. The environmental performance of the sampled firms was proxied by the rating score based on the AKOBEN environmental performance rating tool. A multiple regression analysis was undertaken using a random effect estimation model to test for the effects of environmental performance on environmental disclosures. The study finds that mining companies make more environmental disclosures than the manufacturing companies. Environmental performance was found to be a statistically significant but negative determinant of environmental disclosures. This indicates that mining and manufacturing companies make environmental disclosures to legitimize their activities in the society. The study did not consider the quality of the environmental disclosures. In addition, the study does not consider all companies assessed by the rating tool due to the selection criteria used in sampling the companies for the study. Management of companies needs to improve upon their environmental disclosure practices to gain legitimacy in the society. To the author's knowledge, this is the first study that uses the performance score of an environmental performance rating tool developed in the context of a developing country.
Though supply chain integration has emerged in the past several decades as a major foundation for corporate competitiveness, there is a paucity of research devoted to the theory linking the corresponding strategic management notion of vertical integration with the applied concept of supply chain integration. Built on the work of Harrigan, this paper delineates supply chain integration as a multidimensional construct and proposes a model in which environmental turbulence and strategic orientation have a direct impact on the degree, stages, and breadth of supply chain integration. Contributions, limitations, and implications are offered.

The aim of this paper is to present the results of the pilot project on the environmental goods and services sector accounts (EGSS). It was conducted in Poland in 2015. This account is compatible with the ESA standards and includes the production activities of a national economy that generate environmental products that have been produced for the purpose of environmental protection and resource management. Data are collected according to classification of economic activities, classes of the classification of environmental protection activities and the classification of resource management activities.
