"Queering Desire" explores, with unprecedented interdisciplinary scope, contemporary configurations of lesbian, bi, queer women's and non-binary people's experiences of identity and desire. Taking an intersectional feminist approach and incorporating new and established identities such as non-binary, masculine of centre (MOC), butch and femme, this collection examines how the changing landscape for gender and sexual identities impacts on queer culture in productive and transformative ways. Within queer studies, explorations of desire, longing and eroticism have often neglected AFAB, transfeminine and non-binary people's experiences. Through twenty-five newly commissioned chapters, a diverse range of authors, from early career researchers to established scholars, stage conversations at the cutting edge of sexuality studies. Queering Desire advances our understanding of contemporary lesbian and queer desire from an inclusive perspective that is supportive of trans and non-binary identities. This innovative interdisciplinary collection is an excellent resource for scholars, undergraduate, and postgraduate students interested in gender, sexuality and identity across a range of fields, such as queer studies, feminist theory, anthropology, media studies, sociology, psychology, and history. history, and social theory. In foregrounding female and non-binary experiences, this book constitutes a timely intervention

"The underlying theme of this edited collection is gendered citizenship, as well as the challenges and limits that confront the gendering of citizenship. It critiques the notion of the genderless nation-state citizen in both analytical and policy terms and contexts and necessarily engages with at least three major sets of contradictions or tensions: limitations on achieving gender equal or gender equitable citizenship; relations and differences between gender equality policy, diversity policy, and gender mainstreaming; and interplays of academic analyses of and practical interventions on gendered citizenship. Contributors from diverse scientific disciplines and academic backgrounds aim to provide a better understanding of the challenges that societies within Europe and elsewhere face vis-a-vis diversity, regionalism, transnationalism, and migration."--

This book explores gender stereotyping and gender inequalities in secondary education in England, Hungary and Italy. The authors highlight the importance of addressing student and teacher attitudes if long-term changes in mindset are desired, as well as the underlying stereotypes that persist and linger in these educational contexts. Promoting a whole-school culture change approach, this book explores views of gender stereotypes from teachers and students concerning subject and career choices, as well as collaborative work with teachers, experts and NGOs in implementing and evaluating gender equality charters. Drawing on extensive research, this book employs an intersectional and cross-country approach: while the authors acknowledge the challenges and opportunities of researching gender equality frameworks across different countries, ultimately these link to the UN Sustainable Development goal of gender equality.
