This article discusses the suspension of the Natal Act and the pending arrival of one hundred and eighty South Asian immigrants on the Monteagle. Their entry will be challenged on the Continuous Journey Law rather than the Natal Act. It also mentions a potential pending legal battle between the C.P.R. and the provincial government over whether the C.P.R. is required to enforce immigration laws, particularly the Continuous Journey Law, when allowing immigrants to purchase passage on their ships. ; Research project undertaken by the University of the Fraser Valley South Asian Studies Institute, formerly the Centre for Indo-Canadian Studies in 2015
