The article delves briefly into the formation of low-rise buildings in Russia, starting from its origins (ancient Rus-sia) and ending in the XX century with the representation of development prospects in our days. It is empha-sized that low-rise buildings are of special importance for people and are becoming increasingly in demand, especially in recent years, as they meet the needs of modern society in comfortable socially oriented housing. On the one hand, low-rise construction allows for rapid development of territories, on the other hand, these are convenient, modern complexes with developed infrastructure, their pronounced style and low density of build-ings, which also contributes to favorable epidemiological living conditions for people. This trend in the condi-tions of development of modern society is becoming more and more relevant, due to the existing realities. The aim of the article was to analyze low-rise buildings in the historical aspect and to determine the evolutionary temporal relationship. Analytical and comparative methods have revealed the main features and advantages of low-rise buildings in Russia.
