In this essay we will seek to analyze the internal dynamic of the relationship between the Sans-culotterie and the Jacobin movement, dealing more specifically with the exiting contradiction between direct democracy raised by the popular movement and representative democracy defended by the Jacobins especially Robespierrism. We will inquire with the objective of finding the common points that facilitated the alliance between the Sans-cullotes and the most revolutionary sector of the ascending bourgeois while at the same time finding the contradictions that prevented this alliance from continuing.

Y entendemos que dicha recepción no será solo de los artículos de la Constitución sino también de la labor legislativa de las Cortes, de las discusiones que trajo aparejadas en la prensa y los tratados políticos, integrándose a otros lenguajes y modelos constitucionales que operaban en el espacio rioplatense ; This article studies the reception of the Constitution of 1812 and the legislative work of the Cadiz Cortes in the Rio de la Plata, on the revolutionary political process, which will lead into the General Constituent Assembly of 1813.The approach used on this work begins with the understanding that both constitutional processes are framed in the same Hispanic constitutional culture, with a similar background and legal language on both sides of the Atlantic. We understand that this reception will be not only from constitutional articles but also from the legislative work of the Parliament, the related discussions in the Press, and the political treaties, joining other languages and constitutional models operating in the Rio de la Plata.
; This study seeks to investigate the position adopted by some of the most representative liberal Spaniards on the American insurgent process. In the context of the political revolution that the Hispanic world lived and the Peninsula resistance to the French invasion, the «American question» became a major problem for peninsular liberalism as a result of the uprisings in several provinces in the New World and the claims of the American deputation in the extraordinary «Cortes de Cádiz». It can be surely affirmed that the liberal sector was strongly homogeneous regarding the American issue, which might not only responded to doctrinal principles but also to conjunctural situations such as corporate interests related to the social group that this current some how represented. Likewise, this statement should be relativized because, as we will attempt to prove, there were divergences, sometimes significant, in how to address the «American question» within the peninsular liberal group. In the present article, we delve into the positions on the Spanish America defended by four of the most representative liberal Spaniards: Manuel Jose Quintana, Alvaro Florez Estrada, Jose Blanco White and Agustín de Argüelles.
; We look into the various interpretations of the May Revolution that several intellectuals put forward in what we might describe roughly as the "National Thinking". Rodolfo Puiggrós, Juan José Hernández Arregui, Jorge Abelardo Ramos y Norberto Galasso have certain ideological perspectives built around popular nationalism, anti-imperialist Latinamericanism and socialist ideology. We discuss the common aspects of these authors, but the main emphasis is on the divergences between their interpretations, via a comparative study of their work. These intellectuals openly argue against the interpretation of May enshrined in the "Official History", questioning its main pillars. But despite the fact that they all begin from historical materialism and share a political identity ("social nationalism"), the conclusions they reach point not only to divergent perspectives but also to work done in the heat of different historical moments, and are inseparably tied to the political discourse of their time and clearly associated with the national project that they aspire to contributing to build. We shall also attempt to throw some light on these aspects. Today, within the framework of the Bicentenaries and the numerous forums and activities that seek to take a new look at our 200 years of history, we should not neglect these enriching discussions but, rather, bring them into the debate together with new research in an essential task.
