na podlagi empiričnega materiala analizira prepletenost diskurza slavnih oseb v komercialni popularni kulturi z regresivnim populizmom. Analiza ugotavlja, da
zvezdništvo predstavlja pomembno diskurzivno prakso
legitimiranja obstoječih razrednih razmerij in redistribucije javnega bogastva v postsocializmu, ki ga je kot
del kulturnega repertoarja »protonacionalnega« sentimenta mogoče organizirati v podporo desničarskega
populizma.

Avtorica v članku obravnava »begunsko problematiko« v oddaji Odmevi na slovenski javni televiziji. Zanima jo, kako konvencionalna naturalizirana pravila novinarske prakse in uprizarjanje nevtralizma kot sestavnega dela profesionalne samopredstave političnega novinarstva določajo obravnavo teme. V tem kontekstu analizira izbor »zunanjih« ali »prisvojenih« glasov v studijskih intervjujih v Odmevih ter diskurzivno umeščanje intervjuvancev v narativ oddaje. Ugotavlja, da a) selekcija in b) diskurzivna obravnava gostov v studijskih intervjujih v Odmevih povzročata oz. omogočata zožanje razprave o »begunski problematiki« na polje legitimnih nasprotij, torej na tiste poglede, ki jih zastopa strankarska politika. S selekcijo in z obravnavo zunanjih glasov (gostov v studiu) se ustvarja t. i. mnenjski ali diskurzivni tunel, zaradi katerega prihaja do popolne simbolne marginalizacije vseh pogledov zunaj parlamentarnega mainstreama in njegovih interesov ter do obravnave »begunske problematike« kot sosledja pripetljajev.

The article argues for the audience studies, which draws on the analysis of artifactual, spatial, temporal, and sensorial aspects of media consumption and builds on, that is, the so-called medium theory and theory of practice in sociology. In the second part of the article, we interpret the results of a qualitative empirical study regarding the daily use of media technology among young people, aged between 19 and 29 years. The study finds that circumstances, under which digital media have colonized all spheres of public life and under which online social life has become completely naturalized, have led to constant online connectivity as well as highly fragmented and dispersed communication practices of users moving between different media. The analysis of media consumption diaries points to radical mediatization, which plays an important role in the changing generational structure of feeling.

In this article, we explore performance and the "dramatic realization" of local female social elites in popular mass-market magazines in Slovenia and Croatia between 2008 and 2011. We argue that popular culture—and, more specifically, celebrity discourse—is one of the central locations for analyzing cultural shifts in gender, nationality, and class in postsocialist society. At the center of the discussion is the argument that ethnicity should not be seen as an independent social process; the rise of national distinctions in the Balkans and the reframing of the nation need to be examined by stressing the rearticulations of class, ethnicity, and gender as they are experienced as organizing categories of social differences. We focus on two genres: social chronicles, or "society pages," and photo interviews with elite professionals. We investigate the key intersections of gender, class, and nationality and, more generally, reflect on the transformations in discourses of Balkan identity.

AbstractDue to radical changes in media consumption, manifested in the widespread mediatization and proliferation of the uses of personal media in everyday life, research about media audiences can no longer focus on a single medium. In order to identify ideal-typical combinations of media platforms and aesthetic cultures in the population of the two largest Slovenian cities, the concept of media repertoires was used. The study shows that our respondents's media consumption is structured into four typical media repertoires: integrators, digital natives, television viewers and newspaper readers. These four repertoires also represent distinct socio-cultural formations. In social terms, (digital) audiences therefore do not constitute a homogenous social community, but should be understood as class-differentiated discursive cultures or 'meaning systems'.

Povzetek. V članku na podlagi predpostavke o družbenosti individualnega spominjanja proučujemo spomine dveh generacij na 80. leta: generacije, ki je bila takrat v srednjih letih, in generacije, ki je bila takrat v obdobju različnih faz prehoda v odraslost. To obdobje zadnjih desetih let jugoslovanskega socializma predstavlja čas več divergentnih kriz na različnih družbenih poljih, po drugi strani pa čas simbolne revolucije na polju kulturnih oblik in praks (v obliki t.i. alternativne kulture). Raziskovanje smo usmerili na dve širši raziskovalni vprašanji: a) na vprašanje konstituiranja spominske hegemonije pri opredelitvi časa in b) na vprašanje generacijskih razlik v spominskih narativih na ta čas. Zanima nas, kako se v individualnem spominjanju na osemdeseta, torej na čas začetka konca socialističnega projekta, artikulirajo različni elementi hegemonične »opredelitve časa« in v kakšnem morebitnem protislovnem razmerju so ti elementi (na primer nostalgija nasproti hegemonično revizionistični interpretaciji). Ključni pojmi: spominski narativi, socialistična osemdeseta, generacija, hegemonični spomini, disrupcije v spominjanju.
