"Natural law is a controversial subject but one of great significance in the ongoing and increasingly important discussion about the foundations of moral reasoning. The essays of this volume examine natural moral law, different natural law theories, and the role that natural law can and should play in our contemporary society. While some essays explore systematically the metaphysical and moral foundations of natural law, others focus on questions related to the application of natural law in the political, medical, or legal realm, or discuss historical questions that are closely related to the crisis and defense of natural law. All contributors agree that natural law is a concept that cannot and must not be dismissed and that is in need of a careful retrieval. Dieser Aufsatz thematisiert zunachst moderne Kriege und die Idee des "Ewigen Friedens", wie sie sich in der Moderne entwickelt hat. Es wird gezeigt, dass sich die Wirklichkeit des Krieges bereits im 20. Jahrhundert aufgrund von Entwicklungen neuer Technologien wie zum Beispiel der Atom- bombe verandert hat. Der Friede wird nun durch den "Kalten Krieg" ersetzt. Im Beitrag wird dann das Konzept des postnationalen Krieges (im Unterschied zum modernen Krieg zwischen Nationalstaaten) diskutiert. Dabei wird argu- mentiert, dass dieses Konzept in keiner Weise das Wesen der modernen Kriegs- führung erfasst. Es bedarf einer tieferen Analyse, die aktuelle technologische Entwicklungen wie jene des World Wide Web oder der Drohnentechnologie sowie die Weise, auf der diese Technologien paradigmatisch das Konzept und die Realitat des Krieges (und des Friedens) verandern, berücksichtigt. Vor dem Hintergrund dieser Argumentation wird die Forderung aufgestellt, dass die moralischen und rechtlichen Herausforderungen dieser Art von Krieg mehr Aufmerksamkeit verdienen, als sie in der gegenwartigen Diskussion erhalten.

This essay first discusses modern wars and the idea of ?eternal peace? as
developed in modernity. It shows how in the 20th century the reality of war
(as well as the concept of peace) was already transformed due to the
development of new technologies such as the nuclear bomb. Now, peace was
replaced by a ?cold war?. The essay then goes on to introduce the concept of
post-national wars (as opposed to modern national wars). It argues that this
concept fails fully to describe contemporary warfare. What is needed is a
deeper analysis that considers most recent technological developments such as
the world wide web or drone technology and the way these technologies
paradigmatically change the concept and reality of war (and of peace, too).
The essay concludes by arguing that the moral and legal challenges of this
kind of war deserve more attention than they are getting in the current
discussion.

Dieser Band des Heidegger-Jahrbuches thematisiert das komplexe und kontrovers diskutierte Verhältnis Heideggers zum Politischen. Im Vordergrund stehen dabei neben den ausdrücklich politischen bzw. politisch-philosophischen Aspekten die oft impliziten politischen Dimensionen seines Denkens. Die Beiträge des Bandes erlauben so ein vertieftes Verständnis der "Schwarzen Hefte" und der Diskussionen über diese Texte wie auch der bleibenden Bedeutung und Problematik von Heideggers Denken.
