The needs and interests of the researchers are the focus of the continuous development of the service Pollux provides.
With around 13 million references of political science publications, Pollux is the central literature and research tool for political science in Germany. The individual titles are either immediately available electronically or marked in the portal with a reference to the owning library. In addition, political scientists have free access to the newspaper archive Factiva, the policy monitoring and analysis service Polit-X, and numerous e-books.
The FID Political Science also supports and promotes open access publishing and research data management in political science.
Pollux has been funded by the DFG (German Research Foundation) since 2016 as part of the Specialized Information Services for Science program and is jointly maintained by the Bremen State and University Library, GESIS - Leibniz Institute for the Social Sciences, and, since 2022, the Qualiservice the Data Service Center for qualitative social science research data.
