Abstract
Provides an overview of political events & issues in Australia. The most important issue was the Iraq invasion. Developments with respect to the John Howard government's anti-refugee policies are cited. The rise of the Labor Party in the states is noted along with the resignation of Governor-General Dr Peter Hollingworth. Other events include Prime Minister John Howard's decision not to retire & the generational change issue attendant with the prime minister position vis-a-vis the 2004 general election.
