Als Teil der britischen Antiterrorstrategie soll das »Prevent«-Programm Terrorismus bekämpfen, indem Radikalisierung verhindert wird. Gerade in den Anfangsjahren des Programms wurde dabei auf das Empowerment muslimischer Frauen als Möglichkeit einer Entschärfung sozialer Konflikte gesetzt. Obwohl sie von den damit verbundenen Ressourcen profitieren, stehen muslimische Frauenorganisationen dem oftmals kritisch gegenüber. Catharina Peeck-Ho setzt sich kritisch mit dem Programm auseinander und geht den verschiedenen Strategien des Umgangs im umstrittenen Feld der Terrorismusprävention nach. Ihre Studie verweist nicht zuletzt auf die Gefahren einer zu engen Verknüpfung von Sicherheit, Gleichstellung und Minderheitenpolitik.
