The hospitality services domain in developed countries occupies a leading place, being a source of budget revenues, and contributing to income redistribution among countries, as well as to the combination of various capital forms (national and international), new jobs creation, and to the development of tourists flows. There are many unique recreational, cultural and historical resources in Ukraine that require and need to be used appropriately and optimally for the economic and cultural development and for the prosperity of our country, thus strengthening its significance, competitiveness and prestige in the world. This article is purposed to study the level of development, structure, to identify relevant principles, and to analyze the enterprises belonging to the hospitality services sphere. The hotel business as a component of hospitality industry is connected with tourism activity, because it provides accommodation services for external, domestic tourists. Health-improving, sanatorium and resort facilities as constituents of the hospitality sector provide recreational services that contribute to the person's workability rehabilitation. Activities related to hospitality domain, especially hotel and restaurant business, are promising and profitable for investment, which rapid development and jobs creation contributes to the development of tourism. But the hospitality enterprises' summarizing statistical analysis gives grounds to conclude that in recent years majority of studied objects decreased in number that is due to the deterioration of the economic and political situation in the country, which results in a decrease in both tourism activity and business activity, lack of funds, which leads to an increase of these projects payback period. Prospective further research could be devoted to the study of measures and programs existing with new ones development to increase competitiveness, render more efficient the innovations implementation in the hospitality enterprises, and to optimize the hotel business structure in some areas

ABSTRACT Proponents of petroleum industry subsidies often assert that such policies will have positive economic implications for rural communities. This paper examines the economic impacts of such a policy in Utah. Specifically, this paper quantifies the direct and indirect economic and fiscal impacts of a tax credit granted for oil and gas well workovers in Utah's Uintah Basin. The analysis is made possible by an input‐output model constructed specifically for Utah's oil producing economy. The tax credit policy was found to generate a net fiscal loss for the state. However, it does generate employment in the Uintah Basin. The total per job cost to the state of generating an average of one job per year for 5 years through the tax credit policy is $24,056 (1991 dollars). However, if the public expenditure impacts are taken into account, then the cost per job could be as high as $48,423 (1991 dollars). Whether there are other ways to generate the same employment gains at a lower cost was lost in the political debate surrounding this petroleum industry tax credit.
The authors of this volume address multiple questions involving the nature of youth protest in the twenty-first century. Through their use of a case study approach, they comment upon the ways in which youth protest has been influenced by the electronic and social media and evaluate the effectiveness of protest activities, many of which were framed in reaction to neo-liberalism and state authoritarianism. A number of the authors further comment upon the utility of employing social movement theory to analyze the nature and character of protest actions, while others situate such events within specific political, social and cultural contexts. The case studies focus upon protest activities in Bahrain, Turkey, Iran, Cambodia, South Africa, China, Russia, Chile, Spain, and the U. S., and together, they offer a comparative analysis of an important global phenomenon. This book addresses the increasing role of queer politics within forms of Islamophobia, both by exploring the framing of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) issues as a key marker of western superiority and by identifying the ways in which Muslim homophobia contributes to this dialectic, No one can doubt that Muslim cultures and Muslim populations are under intense scrutiny in the west and worldwide. Moreover, queer politics has been increasingly drawn into this contemporary Islamophobia. This book presents a detailed interdisciplinary study of the issues surrounding homosexuality and Muslim cultures, drawing on sociological theories of modernity and modernization, evidence of Muslim homo-eroticism in historical and contemporary context, and contemporary political ideas of queer politics, multiculturalism and international development. The book presents an original theoretical framework that describes the ways in which both queer and Muslim politics are caught up in a process of triangulation that asserts the superiority of western civilization. Using an intersectional framework, it also begins to map a way out of this oppositional understanding of homosexuality and Islam, both by drawing on the evidence of the complexity of lived experience for Queer Muslims and by challenging the euro-centric conceits of queer political and social theory

Following Bourdieu, this book seeks 'to think about politics without thinking politically', advancing the view that politics as conventionally understood does not take place in a social vacuum, but in the context of a certain topography of society that cannot be reduced to formal spaces (such as a parliament). Engaging with Bourdieu's theory of fields and focusing specifically on the notion of the 'political field', the author analyses from a sociological perspective the functioning of the political field, seeing it not simply as a formal space, but as encompassing a sphere that is increasingly autonomous from others and driven by reasons and motives beyond those conventionally recognised as political. Illustrated with cases from the real political life of different countries, Acting Politics examines the nature of the practices of the agents who inhabit the political field, building a picture of a type of competitive political activity that is fundamentally social and symbolic. A sociological reading of the agents, struggles and forms of the contemporary political field, this book thinks with and against Bourdieu in a broad dialogue with different sociological currents and debates in other disciplines. As such, it will appeal to scholars of politics and sociology with interests in social and political theory and political sociology.
The relevance of the work is determined by the importance of studying the protest activity of young people in modern Russian society. This topic is the object of research interest of sociologists, political scientists, jurists and representatives of other branches of science. Every time researchers face the problem of interpreting the concepts of "protest", "youth protest activity" and experience some difficulties in choosing methods of analyzing this issue. The aim of the work is to define these key concepts, as well as to study various approaches and propose new approaches to the analysis of youth protest activity. The author believes that the analysis will help to identify and substantiate approaches to the analysis of the problem of protest activity of young people and attract the attention of the scientific community to the further development of this issue.
