This study investigates the effect of income diversification on bank performance and risk for government owned banks in Indonesia. This study uses return on assets (ROA) for bank performance and standard deviation of return on assets (SDROA) for bank risk. Using a data set of government owned banks in Indonesia during the period 2012-2016, we find evidence that income diversification is positively related to bank performance (ROA). Income diversification is positively related to bank risk. We find that income diversification increases performance and also risk for government owned banks.
Dialog adalah bagian penting dari penguatan demokratisasi. Namun, dialog belum sepenuhnya dipraktikkan dan diprioritaskan di sekolah. Penelitian ini membahas bagaimana SMA Kolese Gonzaga membangun sistem pembelajaran yang menyediakan ruang besar untuk berdialog. Dalam setiap kegiatan, sekolah mencoba mengembangkan keterampilan komunikasi, belajar untuk saling memahami, dan juga berkolaborasi dengan berbagai komunitas. Sekolah menjadi institusi penting untuk mempromosikan toleransi dan dialog dari berbagai tradisi atau latar belakang budaya. Memperkuat dialog adalah bagian penting dari penekanan pendekatan pendidikan humanis. Penelitian ini berfokus pada dua hal: (i) praktik menjadikan sekolah sebagai ruang dialog, dan (ii) bagaimana sekolah dapat mempromosikan dialog untuk perdamaian. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus. Informan dipilih menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Sedangkan teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah wawancara mendalam, observasi, dan studi literatur. Wawancara dilakukan kepada kepala sekolah, guru, siswa, dan orang tua. Kegiatan dialog diperkuat dalam berbagai kegiatan di sekolah. SMA Kolese Gonzaga membangun ruang dialog di berbagai bidang di sekolah seperti di ruang kelas, kegiatan sehari-hari, dan kegiatan di luar sekolah. ; Dialogue is an important part of strengthening democratization. However, dialogue has not been fully practiced and prioritized in schools. Schools become important institutions to promote tolerance and dialogue from various traditions or cultural backgrounds. Strengthening dialogue is an important part of the humanist education approach. This research discussed how Kolese Gonzaga High School established a learning system that provides a large space for dialogue. In each activity, the school tries to develop communication skills, learn to understand each other, and also collaborate with various communities. This research focused on two things: (i) the practice of establishing school as a space for dialogue, and (ii) how school can promote dialogue for peace. This research was qualitative research with a case study approach. Informants were selected using a purposive sampling technique. Meanwhile, the data collection techniques used are in-depth interviews, observation, and literature study. Interviews were conducted with school principals, teachers, students, and parents. Dialogue activities are strengthened in various activities at school. Kolese Gonzaga High School establishes dialogue spaces in various fields in the school such as in classrooms, daily activities, and activities outside of school.

ABSTRAK Di Kota Semarang ditemukan beberapa masalah terkait dengan penggunaan Aplikasi SI D'nOK yaitu aplikasi Sistem Informasi Dokumen Online Kependudukan ( disingkat SI D'nOK) dari Dinas Kependudukan dan Catatan Sipil (Disdukcapil) Kota Semarang. Masyarakat sebagai pihak yang menjadi sasaran program ini memiliki peran penting akan keberhasilan aplikasi SI D'nOK, yang di launching sejak tahun 2018. Namun pada saat pra survay (Oktober 2020), ditemukan adanya sebagian masyarakat yang belum mengetahui penggunaan dan adanya aplikasi tersebut, masih banyak yang mengurus surat surat kependudukan dan mendatangi langsung ke kantor Disdukcapil dan kurangnya sosialisasi dari pemerintah Kota Semarang mengenai aplikasi SI D'nOK.Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis pengaruh aplikasi SI D'nOK terhadap tingkat kepuasan masyarakat (Studi Kasus di Kecamatan Semarang Timur), menganalisis pengaruh peran Pemerintah terhadap tingkat kepuasan masyarakat dan menganalisis pengaruh aplikasi SI D'nOK dan peran Pemerintah terhadap tingkat kepuasan masyarakat Kota Semarang.Penelitian kuantitatif ini menggunakan tipe eksplanatory untuk menjelaskan pengaruh antar variabel melalui pengujian hipotesis. Populasi nya adalah masyarakat di lokasi wilayah Kecamatan Semarang Timur dan sampel sebanyak 67 orang. Penelitian ini menggunakan teknik Non Probability Sampling (Random Sample), dengan pengambilan sampel secara random.Hasilnya bahwa pengaruh Aplikasi Sistem SI D'nOK dan Peran Pemerintah Kecamatan terhadap Tingkat Kepuasan Masyarakat Kecamatan Semarang Timur Kota Semarang dinyatakan signifikan. Jadi dapat disimpulkan bahwa hipotesa yang menyatakan : "Ada Pengaruh Aplikasi Sistem SI D'nOK dan Peran Pemerintah Kecamatan Terhadap Tingkat Kepuasan Masyarakat" dapat dinyatakan diterima. Includes bibliographical references. ; Presented at the Building resilience of Mongolian rangelands: a trans-disciplinary research conference held on June 9-10, 2015 in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. ; Heavy livestock losses from severe winter conditions (dzud) in Mongolia in recent years have prompted a variety of interventions by government and development agencies, aiming to reduce herders' vulnerability to severe weather and other climate factors. Unfortunately, many of these interventions have not systematically diminished risk to herders. In this paper we identify several strategies deployed by herders for managing dzud risks and impacts through informal mutual aid networks. We contrast these strategies to interventions taken by international donor agencies operating in Mongolia, which have largely focused on the household as an independent socio-economic unit. We conclude that risk mitigation can be improved through recognition of informal mutual aid networks, and through support to mutual aid institutions.

This paper investigates the association of religiosity and trust to community participation or volunteering in development. Social trust is measured in several indicators, is an important aspect of development process, since social trust related to many development outcomes, such as growth, democratic stability as well as subjective well- being. In economic terms, when people trust each other, transaction cost can be reduced, organization can perform better, government policy could stimulate output faster, and many more. Utilizing Indonesia Family Life Survey (IFLS) wave 2014 this study finds the following results. Firstly, social trust closely associated with individual characteristics. Maturity, better educational and income level improve individual trust and individual participation in community activities. Secondly, individual subjective report about religiosity strongly associated with willingness to participate in various community activities. Policy relevant with this finding it is important to promote tolerance and religiosity, as these aspects can improve social trust. Social trust closely associates with more participation in community activities for accumulating public services and public goods. As more public services and public goods are available, nationally better welfare can be promoted.

These boundaries may be human-demarcated and biophysical serving as tangible and intangible features delineating landscapes. Our purpose is to explore Mongolian herders' perceptions of their pasture and boundaries through participatory mapping processes. Our research questions include: 1) what boundaries are depicted on herders' participatory maps? and 2) how are boundaries discussed through herders' participatory mapping narratives? We conducted participatory mapping and informal interviews (n= 35) with herder groups and district officials in Arkhangai, Tuv, Dornod, and Dornogovi. We qualitatively coded participatory mapping narratives and applied visual grounded theory. Tangible features on participatory maps included economic, hydroclimatic, geomorphological, and ecological boundaries portrayed as springs, landforms, vegetation types, seasonal camps, wells, and roads. Non-physical intangible boundaries such as governance arrangements were evident in participatory mapping narratives and served as human demarcated boundaries for accessing seasonal camps, markets, government assistance, and resources for herder migration. The relationships among herder mobility, governance boundaries, and biophysical pasture boundaries are coupled and dynamic, resulting in multi-dimensional outcomes of herder livelihoods.
The purposes of this research is to find out how effective policy of District Regulation about fee / contribution of District Market now prevail in Market Unit that is managed by PD Pasar Surya. Type of this research is policy research and social implementation study cases characteristic. Primary data is gained by closed and opened questionnaire from merchant and employee, also interview with PD Pasar Surya Management. Secondary data is gained from economy sector and PD Pasar Surya.First finding shows that District Regulation Policy about contribution/ Pasar Daerah fee have been implemented by PD Pasar Surya have predicate very effectively successfull. Second finding of PD Pasar Surya expect there are supra-means such as District Regulation Policy or other policy forms that is more moderate as a basic to improve corporation works. Third finding shows there are 4 (four) District Regulation that nomenclature District Degree II City Government Surabaya based on UU RI Number 5 Year 1974, and 1 (one) DPRD Decision Surabaya City Number 42 Year 2000 still based on Law RI Number 22 Year 1999 that in not valid. It is expected the result of this research could give usefully recommendation such as action plan as a solution toward there are policy matter (policy problem) that is felt by PD Pasar Surya Management especially due to effectivity of contribution District Regulation/ Pasar Daerah fee, that is needed for improvement of PD Pasar Surya strategy management, in order to improve its resource.
