The traceability of agricultural products is essential to guarantee food security, monitor the production chain and is a requirement of Brazilian legislation. The optimization of this activity can be performed with the use of digital technologies. The present study verified the efficiency of a mobile app to track agricultural products and use it as a digital field book. The study was developed with 13 participants who used the mobile app to record agricultural activities: input pesticide sprays and fertilization; cultural management and registration of georeferenced harvest lots. The use of the app simplified the registration of tasks as digital field book and tracked agricultural products throughout the productive chain. An alert system for withholding period and maximum limit for pesticide sprays had been developed and enabled greater control, both are considered critical points in traceability system. QR-code of fruit lots were produced in each harvest and reports of costs, production, yield and fruit quality were generated by the app. Thus, mobile app was efficient to track agricultural production and use it as digital field book. In addition, managing of agricultural activities and production costs were produced and it has been shown that an innovative and low-cost technology that can be used by fruit producers. ; A rastreabilidade de produtos agrícolas é essencial para garantir a segurança de alimentos, acompanhar a cadeia produtiva e é uma exigência da legislação brasileira. A otimização dessa atividade pode ser realizada com o uso de tecnologias digitais. O presente estudo verificou a eficiência de um aplicativo mobile para a rastreabilidade de produtos agrícolas e o uso como um caderno de campo digital. O estudo foi desenvolvido com 13 participantes que utilizaram um aplicativo mobile para o registro das atividades agrícolas: aplicações de insumos fitossanitários e fertilizantes; manejos culturais e registro de lotes de colheita georeferenciados. O uso do aplicativo facilitou o registro das atividades no caderno de campo digital e monitorou os produtos agrícolas em toda a cadeia produtiva. Um sistema de alertas para a carência e o limite máximo de aplicações fitossanitárias foi desenvolvido e possibilitou um maior controle de produtos utilizados. Ambos processos são considerados pontos críticos no sistema de rastreabilidade. Para cada lote de colheita foram gerados um QR-code e relatórios de custos, produção, produtividade e qualidade das frutas pelo aplicativo. Desse modo, o aplicativo mobile foi eficiente para a rastrear a produção agrícola e serviu como um caderno de campo digital. Além de permitir o gerenciamento das atividades agrícolas e seus custos de produção, resultando em uma tecnologia inovadora e de baixo custo que pode ser utilizada por produtores de frutas.

The article sets out the findings of research carried out in 2013 on the Spanish tourism mobile applications. The research that covered 66 apps combined a quantitative description of this sector with qualitative categories based on a semiotic analysis. The article evaluates and compares the apps, identifies their main traits, and proposes a taxonomy: the content-based app, the participatory app and the leisure app. ; This research work has been funded by the project "Online Communication for Destination Brands. 4G networks to utilize Voice over LTE (VoLTE). VoLTE uses similar authentication mechanisms such as HTTP. It is therefore possible that a web client on the mobile device will use for authentication mechanism originally designed for the VoLTE [10]. I.e. to use the AKA mechanism, which uses the UICC (USIM / ISIM). This mechanism authenticates the user to the mobile network. However, Web applications can provide another entity. This contribution to discuss the possibility of strong authentication into applications running on mobile devices. It deals with the possibility of combining algorithm AKA with other authentication algorithms. Combination of two algorithms will be created strong multifactor authentication, which is suitable for applications demanding high secure authentication such as Internet banking or Internet access to the Government applications.

According to the UN forecasts, by 2020 the world population will be over 9 billion people, to feed this huge amount of people the food production should grow by 70%. It means that the number of farmers, who are the main suppliers in food production, should be increased. How to enlarge the number of rural farmers? By getting young people interested in farming and agriculture. But nowadays young people are prone to move to big cities. Why young people are not involved in agriculture, what initiatives are being taken to support youth in agriculture and what recommendations can be given, so that young people stay in it? Using the potential and energy of youth in agriculture, comprehensive and integrated policies, programs for markets and trade should be available with special attention to promotions and conditions for young people, who are going to be farmers. In this paper we propose mAgriculture tools such as mobile phones and its applications from throughout the world as an instrument to draw attention of young people to agriculture, showing useful and best examples how farmers could increase their profit and yield through them. These applications help to display information about current prices of agricultural products, historical charts and future prices, comparing the prices of products at different intervals, helps to find significant trends and correlations, also farmers receive information on contracts and the latest news from the agricultural area etc.
This paper discusses Smart Energy Manager (SEM) mobile application for energy management in smart buildings which is developed as a result of the ongoing H2020 projects InBetween and Sofia. SEM app belongs to the visualization layer of the InBetween platform serving as an interface from the system towards the end users with the aim to help them to identify their energy wastes, teach them how to conserve energy and steer their behavior to be more energy efficient. The application is based on Android OS, and it relies on a backend built with CakePHP framework which is used to integrate the application with the rest of the InBetween platform, its main data storage and advanced energy analytic services. Finally, we present the main functionalities of the app along with the data scheme which is used to store users and deployed equipment related data. The dynamic growth of mobile communications technology is creating opportunities for economic growth, social empowerment, and grassroots innovation in developing countries. One of the areas with the greatest potential impact is in the contribution that mobile applications can make to agricultural and rural development (ARD), by providing access to information, markets, and services to millions of rural inhabitants. For both agricultural supply and demand, mobile phones can reduce waste, make delivery more efficient, and forge closer links between farmers and consumers. This report provides policymakers and development practitioners with a guide that facilitates the development and deployment of mobile applications for ARD. It also informs their understanding of the key drivers for promoting such applications and services in their countries. Using James Moore's (1996) revised definition of ecosystems: economic communities based on interacting organizations and individuals the report identifies a wide range of players in the ecosystem for m-ARD apps, such as mobile network operators, m-app (mobile applications) providers, content providers, and various types of users. M-apps are software designed to take advantage of mobile technology and can be developed for technology besides mobile phones. But mobile phones have many key advantages: affordability, wide ownership, voice communications, and instant and convenient service delivery. As a result, there has been a global explosion in the number of m-apps, facilitated by the rapid evolution of mobile networks and by the increasing functions and falling prices of mobile handsets. M-apps are markedly different in developing countries because they typically run on second-generation (2G) phones rather than smartphones, which are far more common in developed countries. The report reviews country examples and extracts policy lessons and good practices. It also presents detailed studies of cases from Kenya, Philippines, and Sri Lanka, as well as summarizes 92 case studies from Africa, Asia, and Latin America. The goal is to provide a comprehensive understanding of the development impact, ecosystem, and business models for mobile applications in ARD. The report is intended to complement the recent ICT in Agriculture eSourcebook. One of the main findings is that an enabling platform (or platforms) is probably the most important factor for the development of m-ARD apps. Platforms can facilitate interactions among ecosystem players, increase access to users, provide technical standards, and incorporate payment mechanisms.
