November 22, 2021 marked the 82nd anniversary of the birth of the famous Russian scientist, full member of the Engineering Academy and the Russian Academy of Sciences, laureate of the Russian Government Prize in science and Technology, laureate of the G.M.Krzhizhanovsky Prize, honorary power engineer of the USSR, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Vitaly Vasilyevich Bushuev. V.V.Bushuev is the ideological inspirer and one of the founders, as well as a member of the editorial board of the scientific journal "Environment and Energy Science", the journal "Energy Policy" and a number of other Russian scientific publications.
Source at https://www.moderna.uu.se/slavic-languages/slovo/. ; The present article, "Professor Olaf Broch's archive in the National Library of Norway," provides a preliminary description of the archive of the Norwegian professor of Slavic languages Olaf Broch (1867-1961), whose heritage is represented not only by well-known works in the field of Slavic phonetics but also by abundant correspondence held in archives of various countries. The greater part of this correspondence is deposited in the archive of the Norwegian National Library. There is currently no description of this archive, but according to a preliminary evaluation, the epistolary section of Broch's archive comprises letters from approximately 500 correspondents, of whom approximately 140 wrote in Russian. Correspondence with academician Alexey A. Shakhmatov holds a special place within Broch's correspondence with philologists. Broch was in communication with many Russian linguists, historians, literary scholars, writers and poets, as well as with diplomats and politicians: there are letters written to him by S. V. Arsen'ev, V. A. Bereznikov, K. N. Gulkevch, A. M. Kollontay and A. V. Lunacharskiy. Of special significance is his correspondence with Ukrainian scholars and politicians, through which a previously unknown Ukrainian chapter in the biography of Norwegian Slavist has been discovered. In addition to the epistolary legacy, many other materials have been discovered in Broch's archive, including a manuscript containing previously unknown memoirs by E. A. Masal'skaja-Surina and poems-in-prose by S. Šil'.
St. Petersburg Medical and Surgical Academy is a special higher educational institution for the training of doctors, mainly for military and naval departments. Founded on December 29, 1798. On September 25 the Institute of Far Eastern Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences celebrated its 55th anniversary. The article describes how the Institute, which was initially created mainly for researching China, has gradually turned into a multidimensional scientific Institution for studying not only China, but also Japan, the Korean Peninsula, the problems of the Asia-Pacific region, and the activities of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO). The article includes the story how in 2008 the then director of the IFES RAS Academician M.L. Titarenko signed an order to include in the Institute's activities the study of Vietnam, which geographically, historically, and even spiritually is an integral part of the ancient Chinese area, as well as the research of the problems of ASEAN, where Vietnam has been playing an ever-increasing role since 1995. Over the 13 years the Vietnam and ASEAN Study Center has become the specialized headquarters for Vietnamese studies, bringing together highly qualified specialists on Vietnam and Southeast Asia. A small science division has achieved serious scientific and practical results, the recognition in the scientific world and, most importantly, the respect of the Vietnamese colleagues and politicians.
В статье представлены основные периоды жизни, научной и государственной деятельности Василия Марковича Флоринского. Цель статьи – рассмотреть этапы деятельности В.М. Флоринского в Академии как воспитанника, ученого и государственного деятеля и показать его роль в развитие акушерства и гинекологи, антропологии, этнографии, истории медицины и народной медицины, а также его вклад в формирование евгеники и медицинской генетики. При исследовании применялись следующие методы: теоретический, анализ, биографический. В.М. Флоринский опубликовал более 330 научных работ. По различным разделам акушерства и гинекологии им опубликовано около 30 научных публикаций. Ученый предложил оригинальный метод для предупреждения разрывов промежности во время родов, в числе первых в России успешно применял хлороформ для обезболивания в родах, проводил гистологические различные исследования в области акушерства и гинекологии. Значительная часть публикаций В.М. Флоринского посвящена археологическим и этнографическим исследованиям. Обсуждение: биография В.М. Флоринского заинтересует специалистов гуманитарного и медицинского профилей, политиков и общественных деятелей. Вывод: рассмотрев основные периоды жизни, научной и государственной деятельности В.М. Флоринского, можно отметить его значимый вклад в развитие акушерства и гинекологи, антропологии, этнографии, истории медицины и народной медицины и в формирование евгеники и медицинской генетики. Флоринский как реформатор и администратор в системе университетского образования укрепил отечественный и международный авторитет российской науки. ; The main periods of life, scientific and state activity of Vasilij Markovich Florinsky. The purpose of the article is to consider stages of V.M. Florinsky's activity in the academy as a pupil, scientist and statesman and to show his role in the development of obstetrics and gynaecology, anthropology, ethnography, history of medicine and folk medicine, as well as his contribution to the formation of eugenics and medical genetics. During the study the following methods were applied: theoretical, analysis, biographical. V.M. Florinsky published more than 330 scientific works. He published about 30 scientific publications on various sections of obstetrics and gynaecology. The scientist proposed an original method to prevent ruptures of the perineum during childbirth, among the first in Russia he successfully used chloroform for anesthesia in childbirth, conducted various histological studies in the field of obstetrics and gynaecology. A significant part of V.M. Florinsky's publications is devoted to archaeological and ethnographic researches. Discussion: V.M. Florinsky's biography will arise interest in specialists of humanitarian and medical profiles, politicians and public figures. Conclusion: having considered the main periods of life, scientific and state activity of V.M. Florinsky, his significant contribution to the development of obstetrics and gynaecology, anthropology, ethnography, history of medicine and folk medicine and to the formation of eugenics and medical genetics can be noted. V.M. Florinsky as a reformer and administrator in the system of university education strengthened the domestic and international authority of Russian science.
The article deals with the main milestones of the biography of Doctor of History, Professor N.V. Minaeva, who worked at the Faculty of History of Moscow Pedagogical State University for almost half a centuryin the context of the history of her family, which largely reflected the dramatic and tragic pages of the Soviet era. The author shares his impressions of communication with N.V. Minaeva, tells about her character traits, life position, her as a teacher and a scientist. For the first time, a systematic bibliography of her scientific works is provided.
The key problem of the article is the destiny of Russian science in the light of today'sreforms.
