In 2020 the authoritarian Hindu-supremacist BJP party was in its second term. With Modi leading it, the party won a landslide in 2019 and a majority in Parliament. Modi and the BJP were relatively restrained in their first term, however in their second term they vigorously implemented their coercive agenda and their ultra-neoliberal program of total deregulation and privatization. They were assisted by the Covid-19 pandemic which became their universal excuse for (1) shutting down political protests, (2) rushing through laws attacking workers, farmers and the rights of women, (they had passed laws attacking Muslims in 2019) and (3) arresting lawyers, trade unionists, journalists, university students, grassroots organizers, and organizers/leaders of subaltern groups, especially Dalits and Adivasis, on terrorism charges, denying them bail or trial. Modi and the BJP are using shock-doctrine-tactics to frighten the public and to blame Muslims for the virus. They have been successful because they control the media. Astonishingly, even though the government did shockingly little to help the starving millions who lost their jobs, the government has not lost its popularity. Its passive revolution strategies and its amazingly firm hegemonic power are examined within this conjuncture: a new neoliberal form of Hinduism is flourishing today.Dissent; Labour; Authoritarianism; Shock-doctrine; Hegemony.

Starting from the Gonella reform's failure to reorganize the entire Italian training system, up to the introduction of the Ten-Year Plan, the aim of this article is to reconstruct the most significant events in Italian academia and higher education during the 1950s. Using a wide range of archival and print sources, this contribution firstly analyses the main critical points in academia and the Ministry of Education during that timeframe, and then investigates the deceptive attempt of the Ten-Year Plan proposed by Fanfani's second Government. The Plan, which considered educational development as a matter of social justice and evaluated human resources, was intended to relaunch a comprehensive and structural reform of education and schools. In this decade, which was characterized by so-called «administrative management», an insidious Parliamentary debate was especially avoided through limited measures and legislative provisions.
; One of the initiatives of the rabbis of the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats, and Slovenes was the launch of "Jewish Almanac" as the first literary-scientific work that will gather intellectuals and be a spiritual and cultural guide for all important phenomena in Jewish religious, social, historical, literary, and political life. U predgovoru prvog godišta "Jevrejskog almanaha" od 2. septembra 1925. (12. elula 5685) godine, predsednik Saveza Rabina Kraljevine Srba, Hrvata i Slovenaca dr Isak Alkalaj obrazlaže pokretanje ovog godišnjaka. He states that the First World War changed the situation in the whole of Europe and that the Yugoslav state suffered huge sacrifices. Although the traces of that most terrible war are still felt all over the world, huge efforts are being made to make up for everything that was lost. All communities, associations, and groups aspired to spiritual renewal, and all goals were dedicated to renewal and progress. The Jewish community, which felt the importance of its role, was also very active. The Jewry of the Kingdom, organized through a large number of local cultural and religious associations, composed of religious communities, united into a single community. Although there were some difficulties in this process due to the specifics of individual communities that were exposed to different influences before unification, significant success was achieved. The example of a successful way of educational work was shown by rabbis as spiritual leaders and teachers, interpreters of God's words, bearers of the Jewish spirit and consciousness. In the period after the war, the rabbis dedicated their knowledge and their time to the general affairs of the community, the spread of religion and human love, the return of beautiful traditions, and ethical and spiritual education. By strengthening the tradition and reviving the past, they performed a missionary task and returned the religious people to the old order full of virtues. In order to better and more successfully achieve their task, the rabbis of the Kingdom organized themselves into the Federation, which had two successful and stimulating congresses in Zagreb and Belgrade, at which many important issues from the spiritual and religious life were resolved. One of the initiatives of the Rabbinical Federation was the launch of this Almanac as the first literary-scientific work that will gather intellectuals and be a spiritual and cultural guide for all important phenomena in Jewish religious, social, historical, literary, and political life. In connection with the ongoing celebration of Aristotle's Year that has been announced by UNESCO, the Poznan Archaeological Reserve – Genius Loci organized a series of lectures "Walks with Aristotle" that refer to the famous name of the Peripatos school. This invitation has been accepted by one of the greatest scholars of Aristotle, Professor Enrico Berti from the University of Padua, who has been publishing for more than 50 years various studies on the philosophy of the Stagirite as well as on the history of philosophy. Recently, his very instructive book, entitled Aristotle's Profile, has appeared in Polish translation (Poznań 2016). Professor Berti's presentation provides an overview of his most important achievements. Included in these are his forthcoming works: his new translation and commentary on Aristotle's Metaphysics as well as his monograph Aristotelismo which reconstructs the diverse interpretations of Aristotle's doctrines through centuries: from logic to epistemology, from physics to psychology and zoology, from metaphysics to ethics and politics and lastly from rhetoric to poetics. ; In connection with the ongoing celebration of Aristotle's Year that has been announced by UNESCO, the Poznan Archaeological Reserve – Genius Loci organized a series of lectures "Walks with Aristotle" that refer to the famous name of the Peripatos school.
