In this paper we employ an event study approach with GARCH process to uncover whether there were positive impacts on the Taiwan's stock market during the SARS outbreak period in 2003. The empirical results indicate that the SARS crisis did bring negative impacts on tourism and the wholesale and retail sectors. This result has been confirmed by many previous studies, but it is most important that the biotechnology sector saw positive shocks from the impacts of the SARS crisis. It is clear that the value effect of SARS outbreak seems to be asymmetrical within our sample firms. Therefore, fund managers and investors at that time were able to buy and hold biotechnology stocks and rearrange their portfolios to obtain investment profits, maintain portfolio returns, or lower investment risks during the SARS outbreak period in Taiwan. The government of Taiwan should support the developments of each industry sufficiently, and then these industries could help to protect the nation's economy and residents' health against any possible impact of disease, such as SARS.

Drawing on the literature on perceived illegitimate tasks, we investigated, with 216 participants, how temporal leadership affects employee workplace deviance. Our findings show that temporal leadership effectively reduced employee workplace deviance. In addition, perceived illegitimate tasks played a mediating role in the relationship between temporal leadership and employee workplace deviance, and goal congruence moderated the indirect effect of temporal leadership on employee workplace deviance through perceived illegitimate tasks. Practical implications and suggestions for future studies are discussed.

Women have become an increasingly important force in entrepreneurship, and their relatively low entrepreneurial competence has aroused widespread attention from the academia. Drawing from the resource-based theory and the social support theory, this study aims to explore the impact of Internet use on women's entrepreneurial competence and the roles of entrepreneurial resource acquisition and family support in this relationship. After collecting a sample of 328 women entrepreneurs in China, this study demonstrates that Internet use is positively related to women's entrepreneurial competence, and this relation is partially mediated by entrepreneurial resource acquisition. Moreover, family support moderates the relation between Internet use and entrepreneurial resource acquisition as well as the mediating effect of entrepreneurial resource acquisition. The results of the current study contribute to revealing how Internet use affects women's entrepreneurial competence, including its direct and indirect effects and boundary conditions. Practical implications for policy-makers and female entrepreneurs are also provided.

Background: Most studies agree that mental illness brings a heavy objective and subjective burden of care on the family and especially the caregivers. However, very little attention has been paid to the wider context in which this burden is shaped and sustained.Material: In-depth interviews were conducted with 11 caregivers in Hong Kong and Taiwan and subsequent analysis identified four major themes: mystical knowledge beyond understanding, persistent self-blame and lay explanation, inertia of caregivers and non-responsive service system, and unsatisfying encounters with medical staff.Discussion: The results of the study indicate that these families did not get the services they needed. In spite of recounting many system failures, most respondents attributed their situation to tragedy and misfortune at personal and family levels. Such a discourse is closely connected to a wider context of health and social care. The Hong Kong subjects complained more, felt more helpless, and had more persistent self-blame and lay explanation than the Taiwanese subjects. Conclusions: To reduce such experiences, this paper calls for inclusive policies for the family, new education strategies and reflections on the roles of mental health professionals in empowerment and advocacy beyond conventional treatment, counseling and education.

With the prolonged survival of patients with GISTs, reports about the bone metastasis of GIST increased. However, the knowledge of GISTs is rather limited due to its very low incidence. Methods: Cochrane and Medline database (via PubMed) were searched in July 2019 with related keywords to acquire the literature related to the bone metastasis of GIST. Then, the literature was reviewed and references were also scanned to identify the possible related reports. Study data comprising age, sex, primary location, metastasis interval time, immunohistochemistry index, management and prognosis were recorded and analyzed. Results: Forty-five patients with bone metastases of GIST, with a mean age of 61.09 years, were included. The small intestine and stomach were the most common primary sites, followed by the rectum. Patients with small intestine primary sites had bone metastases that occurred earlier than the bone metastases stomach and rectum primary sites. The spine was the most common site of bony metastases. The mean survival time after GIST diagnosis was more than 64.02 months. Patients younger than 60 years old had a worse prognosis than those older than 60 years old. Furthermore, patients with spinal involvement had a worse prognosis than those without spinal involvement. Surgical interventions combined with targeted therapies guaranteed a better prognosis. Conclusion: Bone metastasis of GIST, which mainly occurs in the spine, is rather rare. Patients with GISTs of the small intestine and stomach suffered from bone metastasis more frequently and earlier than patients with GISTs in other primary sites. Age, sex, primary tumor location, treatment mode for the primary lesions and metastases, and spine involvement may be potential factors that affect the prognosis of GIST patients with bone metastases. Keywords: gastrointestinal stromal tumor, bone metastasis, tyrosine kinase inhibitors, prognosis

Notably, silencing AMPH-1 increased osteosarcoma progression in a mouse tumor model. The results obtained upon AMPH-1 knockdown and AMPH-1 overexpression indicates that AMPH-1 is involved in regulating MEK/ERK signaling. Conclusion: These data suggest that AMPH-1 plays an important role in osteosarcoma and may represent a novel therapeutic target for osteosarcoma treatment. Keywords: AMPH-1, osteosarcoma, ERK signaling pathway

The synthesis of crystalline microporous materials containing large pores is in high demand by industry, especially for the use of these materials as catalysts in chemical processes involving bulky molecules. An extra-large-pore silicoaluminophosphate with 16-ring openings, ITQ-51, has been synthesized by the use of bulky aromatic proton sponges as organic structure-directing agents. Proton sponges show exceptional properties for directing extra-large zeolites because of their unusually high basicity combined with their large size and rigidity. This extra-large-pore material is stable after calcination, being one of the very few examples of hydrothermally stable molecular sieves containing extra-large pores. The structure of ITQ-51 was solved from submicrometer-sized crystals using the rotation electron diffraction method. Finally, several hypothetical zeolites related to ITQ-51 have been proposed. ; The authors gratefully acknowledge Dr. Alejandro Vidal-Moya for the SUP>27 /SUP>Al MQ MAS NMR experiment. Factors with P values ≤ 0.1 were subjected to multivariate analysis by Cox regression analysis. P values ≤ 0.05 were considered statistically significant. Results: The 95 patients included in this study were followed up by a mean of 48.8 months (median 51 months; range 6–132 months), during which 21 patients died, with a death rate of 22.1%. The statistical results indicated that patients with total piecemeal spondylectomy (TPS), targeted therapy, NLR < 3.8 and PLR < 206.9 had a significantly longer OS rate. Conclusion: TPS and targeted therapy could significantly prolong the OS of patients with spinal metastasis from CCRCC. In addition, NLR and PLR are robust and convenient prognostic indicators that have a discriminatory ability superior to other inflammatory biomarkers. Keywords: clear cell renal cell carcinoma, spinal metastasis, overall survival, prognosis, inflammatory biomarkers
