The purpose of this paper is to explore the ethos of interculturality at the Intercultural Universities (IU) in Mexico. Based on the documents and interviews carried out at five universities between 2006 and 2009, it has been observed that the institutionalization of intercultural education within the state sector has created a space of encountering and debate between the politics of recognition and the radical ideas of educators in the tradition of Latin American constructivism and popular schooling. The paper concludes by highlighting the great gap between the academic debates on multiculturalism and the sometimes anguished debates of iu professors facing entirely new challenges in education, such as teaching indigenous origin people their own language with teaching methods suitable for a second language, or students using scientific research methods in their hometowns where the division of the role as relative or family member and that of researcher is not always acknowledged. This interweaving of ideas and identities, intended and recovered, intermingled with the language and birthplace, in a context clearly marked by socioeconomic class inequalities and social mobility aspirations, constitute the tapestry of the debate at the IU. Constructivism as a psychopedagogical perspective does not in itself constitute a specific paradigm or theory. This is evident in the published scientific literature where there is no consensus regarding the conceptualization of the constructivist approach. It is based as a referential - explanatory framework in the field of education. It takes as a principle that the subjects of the teaching process build a large part of what they learn and understand. This perspective leaves the authors Piaget and Vygotsky with the theory and research on human development. The present study focuses on analyzing the perspective raised by the authors Urrutia-Aguilar, Jaimes-Medrano and Aburto-Arciniega (2022) on the resilience of high school teachers. In the study are not analyzed the potentialities of constructivism as a perspective in educational psychology. This would have favored the continuity of the educational teaching process. Consequently, there is a set of paradigms and theories that favor autonomous learning, mainly for high school students.
This article seeks to analyze the impact which the operation of the Inter-American Court Of Human Rights had in the Colombian case during the 2001-2006 period, inside a context of a multiplicity of pressing actors, who conforms a Transnational Advocacy Network (TAN). Based upon statements of realism, liberalism and, mainly, constructivism, the article studies the relationship between the pressing actors and the reactions that the Colombian state shows against the actors' pressure. Finally, a diagnostic of the human rights situation in Colombia is made. (Colombia Internacional/GIGA)
In this article we describe the uses of qualitative methodological designs in social science journals. A content descriptive analysis was performed. We reviewed 186 papers published in open-access journals indexed in the Scopus electronic database (Elsevier) during 2013-2015. Of the articles reviewed, 75% contained descriptions of the methodological designs utilized. In 51% of the articles qualitative designs were employed based on the type of study (ethnography, action research, grounded theory methodology, phenomenology, discourse analysis, among others); 37% of the articles used a design based on the specific guidelines for each approach; 11% based on the theoretical orientation of the authors (e.g., postpositivism, constructivism, critical theory, and others). We conclude that there are differences in conceptions of qualitative methodological designs in the corpus of articles reviewed.
