This book has been produced by people who have been active in the women's movement in Tanzania at national and grassroots level. It provides a situation analysis of women and girls in Tanzania and a review of strategies for change and transformation. The authors present strategies of action for future networking, empowerment and social transformation. In the appendices, they present key statistical tables to document aspects of the situation analysis, and a summary of proposals for people-centered development policies, which would facilitate equality, women's empowerment, and gender transformation in society.
