International audience ; This paper examines the major barriers to the deployment of geothermal, small hydro and advanced coal power generation technologies in Vietnam. It ranks their severity by applying the analytical hierarchy process to data from a survey of 37 domestic experts and stakeholders. Key barriers to a wider penetration of small hydro generation technologies are insufficient capital, a lack of domestic suppliers and unsatisfactory government policies. Barriers to geothermal power are related to information and awareness problems, a lack of R&D and industrial capability, a weak policy framework and the remoteness of geothermal sites. For advanced coal power technologies, the barriers are weak industrial capability, high cost and a lack of technical knowledge. The experts consulted in this study view changes in government actions as the key to overcoming the abovementioned barriers. They recommend investing more in R&D activities, improving R&D capacity through joint-venture schemes and reforming investment policy/legislation for the electric power industry as the most appropriate solutions.

Personalabteilungen gelten traditionell als wenig datenaffin, geraten aber immer stärker unter Druck, die Wirksamkeit betrieblicher Personalmanagementaktivitäten und Mitarbeiterinvestitionen auszuweisen. Vor diesem Hintergrund wächst das Interesse an "Workforce-" bzw. "People Analytics", die innerhalb der Managementliteratur sowie von Beratungs- und Softwareeunternehmen als revolutionäres Tool und Wegbereiter eines datengetriebenen und evidenzbasierten Managements propagiert werden. Über eine algorithmenbasierte Analyse der Zusammenhänge zwischen dem Arbeitsverhalten und den Kompetenzen von Mitarbeitenden, der Personalmanagement- und Führungspraxis sowie unternehmensbezogenen Performancegrössen sollen die Qualität der Managemententscheide und die Ausschöpfung von Mitarbeiterpotenzialen massgeblich erhöht werden. Unser Beitrag analysiert auf Basis von zwei explorativen Unternehmensfallstudien die organisationale Einbettung von People Analytics aus einer kritischen Perspektive. Er arbeitet fünf Problemfelder für das Personalmanagement und die managerielle Entscheidungskultur sowie relevante arbeitspolitische Aspekte heraus.

In der modernen Arbeitswelt individualisieren sich Arbeitsverhältnisse zusehends. Die Orientierung an einem Kollektiv wird abgelöst von einem radikalen Durchsetzen von Partikularinteressen. Solidarität als Basiskategorie von Arbeitnehmeridentität gerät damit unter Druck. Auch Gewerkschaften laufen Gefahr, nur noch partikulare Interessen zu vertreten, wenn der Einzelne zum Maßstab des Handelns wird. Arbeitnehmer*innen in digitalen Arbeitsfeldern gelten als die Speerspitzen einer individualisierten Lebens- und Arbeitswelt. Der Artikel erarbeitet zum einen ein mehrdimensionales Konzept von organischer Solidarität und zeigt dann, wie auch in digital mediatisierten Arbeitsumgebungen solidarische Beziehungen wirksam sind. Angewandt auf drei drängende Problemfelder von Arbeit wird die Frage gestellt, inwiefern digitale Solidarität eine Chance zur Bearbeitung dieser Probleme darstellen kann.

Dieses - historische - europäische Verständnis spiegelt sich bis heute im nationalen Unternehmensrecht der meisten EU-Mitgliedsstaaten wider. In 18 EU-Ländern haben Arbeitnehmer das Recht, ihre Repräsentanten in die obersten Entscheidungsgremien zu entsenden. Die europäische Gesetzgebung zur Europäischen Aktiengesellschaft (SE) sieht dieses Recht standardmäßig vor. Obligatorische Arbeitnehmerbeteiligung ist mehr als europäische Sozialpolitik. Sie ist ein Teil von guter Unternehmensführung und keine störende Zumutung für Manager. Allerdings wird sie um ihren institutionellen zukünftigen Platz in einer Welt steigender internationaler Börsenfinanzierung von Unternehmen streiten müssen." (Autorenreferat)

Der Aufsatz referiert den aktuellen Forschungsstand zur Mitbestimmung in Betrieben. So werden im ersten Abschnitt zwei personalwirtschaftliche Arbeiten vorgestellt: (1) 'Die Institution Betriebsrat aus personalwirtschaftlicher Sicht' (2005) von M. Müller sowie (2) 'Human Resource Management, Personalauswahl und Theorien industrieller Beziehungen. Interaktionskulturen aus einer Negotiated Order-Perspektive' (2005) von S. König. Der zweite Abschnitt präsentiert zwei juristische Arbeiten, die sich mit den Fragen betrieblicher Mitbestimmung bzw. mit der Regulation von Arbeit jenseits des dualen Systems auseinandersetzen: (1) A. Höland u.a. (Hrsg.), 'Arbeitnehmermitwirkung in einer sich globalisierenden Arbeitswelt. Employee Involvement in a Globalising World' (2005) und W. Kohte u.a. (Hrsg.), 'Arbeitsrecht im sozialen Dialog. Festschrift für Hellmut Wissmann zum 65. Geburtstag' (2005). Die Auswertung der neueren personalwirtschaftlichen Arbeiten zeigt, dass sich personalökonomische Analysen einen festen Platz in der Mitbestimmungsdebatte erobert haben und - insofern sie nicht unterkomplexe theoretische Konzepte verwenden - das Verständnis für die Wirkungen von Mitbestimmung erhöhen. Die Art und Weise, wie diese Wirkungen zustande kommen, entschlüsseln eher organisationssoziologische Ansätze, insbesondere wenn quantitative und qualitative Methoden in der Umsetzung Verwendung finden. Sie analysieren die praktizierten Interaktionen und sozialen Beziehungen im Betrieb und können so die Politikhaltigkeit von Organisationen und Repräsentationsproblemen aufgreifen. Die in die Besprechung einbezogenen rechtstheoretischen Arbeiten erhöhen das Verständnis von Mitbestimmung insbesondere dann, wenn sie sozialwissenschaftliche Erkenntnisse in ihre Überlegungen einbeziehen. "Dieser Aufsatz gibt zunächst einen Überblick über die wichtigsten Konzepte und Ergebnisse der organisationspsychologischen und -soziologischen Gerechtigkeitsforschung, soweit sie Arbeitsbeziehungen zum Gegenstand haben. Da sich die bisherige Forschung vorwiegend auf Konflikte zwischen dem einzelnen Beschäftigten und dem Unternehmen konzentriert, wird daran anschließend ein konzeptioneller Vorschlag zur Analyse kollektiver Industrieller Beziehungen unterbreitet. Demnach sollten Gerechtigkeitsprobleme auf den vier arbeitspolitischen Ebenen der Gesetzgebung, der Tarifpolitik, der betrieblichen Mitbestimmung sowie der Arbeitsgruppe auf dem shop floor analysiert werden." Unlike in many other countries, global competition has not created inequality, uncertainty, long working hours, standardization and restrictive managerial control. Rising oil prices, foreign direct investment, and industrial value-added are the key component that affects the economic stature of a country. This study locates the relationship between FDI, rising oil prices, and industry value added on the economic growth of Pakistan. To do the analyses, data length ranging from 1980 to 2020 was used. For the regression results, the analytical technique of Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) is incorporated. The empirical results show that FDI encourages economic growth. Nevertheless, industry value added is also located for positive affectation on economic growth. However, rising oil prices are found to have negative effects on economic growth. Similarly, the combined effect of oil prices and FDI are found discouraging for economic growth. As a policy option, the government of Pakistan must need to encourage FDI inflows and should step up toward industrialization. On the other side, rising oil prices be controlled at the maximum extent as it is damaging to economic prosperity.
