The aim of the article is to take a broader look at the current situation related to the implementation of 5G technology in Poland from a social perspective. The analysis was conducted in a broader context – Poles' attitudes towards science and technology as well as their knowledge about modern technologies. In addition to an analysis of the literature on the subject, the article will present the results of two parallel studies conducted using three research methods: the focus method, in-depth expert interviews and a questionnaire conducted on the basis of direct interviews at respondents' homes. The article reflects on, inter alia, questions about the attitudes of Poles to the development of science and technology, in particular to 5G technology, and whether the development of modern technologies is a cause of social anxiety among Poles. Research on the social perception of the 5G network in Poland shows that Poles are not familiar with 5G technology. Their ignorance results from poorly conducted technological education, insufficient public information provided by state authorities, public distrust of the authorities as an unreliable source of information, and the hermetic language used by telecommunications specialists. The disinformation aimed at delaying the implementation of this technology in Europe, also being related to the war over 5G technology between the United States and China, has a great impact on the negative perception of the 5G technology in Polish society.

The increase in the length of human life favors development of goods and services to the elderly. Article describes phenomenon of the silver economy as an economic system based on meeting the needs of ageing populations. Study presents examples of strategic and organizational solutions related to the creation of gerontechnology. Work takes into account concepts of cooperation between public, commercial and non-governmental sector entities: strategies for innovation, welfare clusters and silver economy networks. It also highlighted the new research institutions such as "agelab" and cultural institutions "medialab", which can be used to shape public image of gerontechnologies.

The aim of the article is to present the development of biometric technology as a consequence of 9/11 terrorist attacks in the USA and issuing the PATRIOT ACT in 2001. Nowadays biometric technology is popular not only in the public security area (e.g. criminal data bases, face recognition surveillance systems) but is also used in everyday life (e.g. smartphones with touch ID/face recognition). The article shows both sides of biometric devices utilization: advantages and potential negative consequences for individuals.

Mimo ścisłych związków między technologią i stosunkami międzynarodowymi istnieje niewiele prac w nauce o stosunkach międzynarodowych, które podejmują próbę teoretycznego połączenia obu tych sfer rzeczywistości społecznej. Podstawowym celem artykułu jest historyzacja technologii militarnej w społecznej historii stosunków międzynarodowych. Autor przedstawia proces historycznego wzrostu znaczenia technologii militarnej w funkcjonowaniu społeczeństw i jej destruktywny wpływ na życie społeczne. Przekonuje, że nowe technologie rozwinaje są przez istoty ludzkie, a nie "odkrywane". Dokonane wynalazki odzwierciedlają określone interesy, posiadanie adekwatnych zasobów do ich dokonania i istnienie określonego instytucjonalnego wsparcia. W takim rozumieniu nauka, technologia i innowacje są funkcją ludzkich wyborów, interesów, idei, instytucji i zasobów. ; Despite close connections between technology and international relations, there are few works in international relations studies that would make an attempt to theoretically connect both of these two spheres of social reality.The main aim of the article is a historization of military technology in a social history of international relations. The author presents the process of historical growth of importance of military technology in functioning of societies and its destructive influence on social life. He convinces one that new technologies are developed, not "discovered" by human beings. Inventions reflect specific interests, owning proper resources to develop them and the existence of determined institutional support. In this understanding, science, technology and innovations are functions of human choices, interests, ideas, institutions and resources.In the first part of the article, the author presents relations between science, technology and innovations, as well as main attitudes in international relations studies in the context of comprehending these relations. Problems caused by technological development are also discussed. In the second part of the article, the author presents the meaning of military technology in international relations through its historization. By showing different contexts of "war machines" (horse, chariot, cavalry, cannons, conventional and nuclear weapon, information technology),one can observe the influence of military technology on international relations in the process of uneven and related development of different societies in different times from antiquity to the present day. In particular, the results of transformation of relations between armed forces and scientific institutions after World War II into permanent structures of society and government are shown. On the example of United States of America, the author points negative consequences of forming bureaucratic national security services for many aspects of social life. Finally, referring to James Der Derian's analysis, the author presents transformative influence of information technology on international relations.

The article presents a proposal for changes in the regulations concerning broadly understood wiretapping. The dynamics of the development of crime using new technologies, in particular cybercrime, poses increasing challenges to the judiciary, law enforcement authorities and special services, which can only be met by introducing new legal solutions to enable the latest technological developments to be applied. At the same time, judicial case law imposes an obligation on the legislator to seek and create new legal solutions that would be able to reconcile the interests and rights of an individual with the common good. The question, therefore, arises whether a further revision of the rules is necessary in this regard, or whether a completely new approach is needed to look at the way of legal regulations concerning issues related to procedural and operational wiretapping. The article attempts to present this issue, taking into account, in particular, the changes in surveillance regulations due to the continuous and progressive development of the 5G network and the planning of the gradual implementation of the 6G network. In the authors' opinion, the presented constructive comments de lege ferenda should be helpful in establishing a new law on operational control. The law that would comply with constitutionally guaranteed standards on civil rights while equipping the state and its law enforcement and special services with effective tools to combat new forms and manifestations of crime. The authors intend to present the issue of wiretapping – in the broad sense, against the background of modern technologies and new legal solutions, while respecting the principles of the Polish criminal trial and the expectations of practice in combating the most serious crimes effectively. ; W artykule przedstawiono propozycję zmian w przepisach dotyczących szeroko rozumianego podsłuchu. Dynamika rozwoju przestępczości posługującej się nowymi technologiami, a w szczególności przestępczości cybernetycznej, stawia przed wymiarem sprawiedliwości, organami ścigania i służbami specjalnymi coraz większe wyzwania, którym można sprostać, jedynie wprowadzając nowe rozwiązania prawne pozwalające na stosowanie najnowszych osiągnięć technicznych. Jednocześnie orzecznictwo sądowe nakłada na ustawodawcę obowiązek poszukiwania i tworzenia nowych rozwiązań prawnych, które potrafiłyby pogodzić interesy i prawa jednostki z dobrem ogólnospołecznym. Powstaje zatem pytanie, czy konieczna jest kolejna nowelizacja przepisów w tym zakresie czy też niezbędne jest całkowicie nowe spojrzenie na sposób unormowań prawnych dotyczących zagadnień związanych z podsłuchem procesowym i operacyjnym. W niniejszym artykule podjęto próbę przedstawienia tej problematyki, biorąc pod uwagę przede wszystkim zmiany przepisów inwigilacyjnych w związku z ciągłym i progresywnym rozwojem sieci 5G i planowaniem stopniowego wdrażania sieci 6G. Przedstawione konstruktywne uwagi de lege ferenda w ocenie autorów powinny stać się pomocne do ustanowienia nowego prawa dotyczącego kontroli operacyjnej. Prawa, które czyniłoby zadość normom gwarantowanym konstytucyjnie w zakresie praw obywatelskich i jednocześnie wyposażałoby państwo i jego organy ścigania oraz służby specjalne w skuteczne narzędzia walki z nowymi formami i przejawami przestępczości. Intencją autorów jest przedstawienie problematyki dotyczącej podsłuchu sensu largo na tle współczesnych technologii i nowych propozycji rozwiązań prawnych przy jednoczesnym poszanowaniu zasad polskiego procesu karnego oraz oczekiwań praktyki w skutecznym zwalczaniu najpoważniejszych przestępstw.
