Economic achievements of the regions of the European Union ; PALMARÈS ÉCONOMIQUE DES RÉGIONS DE L'UNION EUROPÉENNE

Abstract

International audience ; To the diversity of its countries, the European Union adds that of its regions, whose economic level is extremely varied. Hence the advantage of comparing them by considering their level of wealth creation. The three stages of the podium are occupied by the regions London Center, Luxembourg and Hamburg, while the Île-de-France, the only French region to be among the top twenty-five, is only eighth. Hence a first question: Are there explanatory logics of such results in Europe and in France? Second question: could this classification of the year be deeply questioned in the future? ; À la diversité de ses pays, l'Union européenne ajoute celle de ses régions, dont le niveau économique est extrêmement divers. D'où l'intérêt de les comparer en considérant leur niveau de création de richesses. Les trois marches du podium sont occupées par les régions Londres Centre, Luxembourg et Hambourg, tandis que l'Île-de-France, seule région française à figurer parmi les vingt-cinq premières, n'est qu'en huitième position. D'où une première interrogation : Y a-t-il des logiques explicatives de tels résultats en Europe et en France ? Seconde interrogation : ce classement de l'année pourrait-il être à l'avenir profondément remis en cause ?
