Abstract

Educated within institucionismo circles and member of one of the most relevant Spanish families at the beginning of the 20th century, Alma Tapia participated in the artistic scene through illustration, poster design and her involvement in the Madrid Lyceum Club Femenino. After the Spanish Civil War and the victory of general Franco, her political beliefs led her to exile in Mexico, where she continued working in the editorial field. She was an artist who contributed to the continuation and dissemination of the extensive and valuable cultural legacy developed in Spain during the first third of the 20th century. ; Formada dentro de los círculos institucionistas y miembro de una de las familias más relevantes de la España de comienzos del XX, Alma Tapia participó de la escena artística de entonces como ilustradora, cartelista y miembro del Lyceum Club Femenino. Tras la Guerra Civil y la victoria del general Franco, sus convicciones políticas la llevaron al exilio mexicano donde continuó trabajando en el mundo editorial. Fue una artista que, a través de su trabajo, contribuyó a difundir el vasto y valioso legado cultural de la España del primer tercio del siglo XX.
