Abstract

summary At the turn to the 21st century, a significant proportion of Latin American countries are turning to neoextractivism as a development model based on the export of unprocessed raw materials to increase the profit rate. This change has in turn consonance in Latin American art since its circulation in the international artistic system, which starts a period of reformulation of its conceptual bases, confronting from new theoretical platforms the conditions of representation through which it is embedded in the international artistic system. Based on this characterisation, this article explores the possible links between the production model of neoextractivism and the circulation of Latin American art in the international artistic system in the 21st century, establishing the links in the operating strategies that can be traced between them. ; Resumen En el cambio al siglo xxi, una parte importante de los países de América Latina gira hacia el neoextractivismo como modelo de desarrollo basado en la exportación de materias primas no procesadas para aumentar la tasa de ganancia. Este cambio tiene a su vez, consonancias en el arte latinoamericano a partir de su circulación en el sistema artístico internacional, el que inicia un período de reformulación de sus bases conceptuales, enfrentando desde nuevas plataformas teóricas las condiciones de representación mediante las que es inserto en el sistema artístico internacional. A partir de esta caracterización, en este artículo indagamos las relaciones posibles entre el modelo productivo del neoextractivismo y la circulación del arte latinoamericano en el sistema artístico internacional en el siglo xxi, estableciendo los vínculos en las estrategias de funcionamiento que entre ellos es posible rastrear.
