Abstract

"Records and Information Management was the first book to provide a lifecycle view of records management that includes both paper and electronic records and information and addresses the impact of Web 2.0 and records management technologies. The increasingly complex regulatory and legal environment, along with the growing volume and changing nature of records and information created through emerging technologies, continues to bring RIM to the attention of executives who are ultimately responsible for the success or failure of their organizations. The positive reaction by academics and practitioners to the first edition, the continued interest in records and information management (RIM), and the reliance in the field upon emerging technologies supports the need for a second edition. Proposed revisions will bring readers up-to-date on advances in technology, most notably cloud storage, and evolving standards and practices"--
