Abstract

Prospects for the Thai tourist industry look bright for many years to come. Last year 3.5 million foreign tourists spent almost 2 billion US-dollar in Thailand. But despite the euphoria springing from the tourist bonanza, there is growing concern about its impact on the culture, the environment and local economies. (DSE)
