Abstract

The problem of bourgeois revolutions in Brazil claims the historians' attention whenever they analyse the history and forms of the Brazilian state. Especially with regard to times of revolutionary changes - which cover the long period from the independence in 1822 to the revolutions of 1889 and 1930 up to the military dictatorship of 1964 - the question of bourgeois revolutions is on the agenda.
