Abstract

Der finanzielle Beitrag der palästinensischen Diaspora (Investitionen sowie Zuwendungen familiärer und karitativer Natur) wurde 1996 auf 408 Mio. Dollar (davon 74% Investitionen) und 1997 auf 410 Mio. Dollar (davon 76% Investitionen) geschätzt und entsprach damit 74% bzw. 95% der internationalen Hilfe für die Selbstverwaltungsgebiete. Bei den Investoren handelte es sich um kleine und mittlere Kapitaleigner, nicht um die von Arafat erwarteten palästinensischen "Rothschilds". (DÜI-Cls)
